CHAPTER 35: MATHS CLASS

After venting her frustration, Parul went back to her seat.

She waved her hand signalling me to sit beside her.

In order to avoid making a scene, I helplessly sat on her left side- directly in the middle row.

The first bell rang, from the time table pinned on the bulletin board, it was clear that it was Maths Teacher period to teach.

The entire class was packed with students...wait, the seat on my left side was still empty, it seems I am not the only student who is not punctual here.

Nice~

Just when the teacher was about to mark the attendance, a stunning girl rushed into the room.

She was here~

"Sorry, I was feeding a stray kitty, so I was late."

Before the teacher could scold, Asuna explained and politely gave an apologetic bow.

As soon as she rushed to her seat and sat down, Asuna breathed a sigh of relief.

But then she turned her head towards the right and met my amused gaze.

Gulp~

She looked at me and I looked at her while the students, who enjoyed being spectators, looked at us.

The class held its breath~

"She’s looking at him with such an infatuation."

Someone slowly whispered.

"Flirting in the morning itself?"

"How shameless!"

Another backbencher muttered.

I knew it!

Now things were beyond salvation.

With this subconscious gesture of ours, no matter how much we explain, the rumours about us being a couple will only fly higher.

"Annoying!"

Asuna’s eyes looking at me started turning fierce.

For a second, I was sure she was going to yell at me for ruining her image, but taking deep breaths, she managed to hold back.

I shrank back in my seat and started pretending to pay attention to what the teacher was teaching.

Since I had long learned all this knowledge before transmigrating, it didn’t matter if I ignored the teaching, I was sure I could pass even if I studied a week before the exam.

The entire Maths class passed as if I was sitting on needles, in between, my eyes kept closing again and again, perhaps it was because I had not got proper sleep the past few days.

Unlike me, Asuna was not even pretending, glaring at me nonstop.

With the ringing bell, signalling the end of the period, I thought about going to the washroom to wash my face of any lingering drowsiness.

But Asuna was faster.

With a strong confidence and a proud attitude she blocked me,

"We need to talk."

Seeing me flinch, she added another warning,

"Now."

I ignored her and thought of going to the washroom, but she shamelessly leaned in and hissed yet again,

"Now."

I knew if I refused, given her rude temperament, she would definitely make a scene, so I could only helplessly follow her lead to walk outside.

As we arrived at a narrow corner, Asuna stopped and crossed her arms,

"I am getting annoyed."

"I thought these gossips wouldn’t affect me, but this is too much!’

Her face was bubbling with anger.

"Don’t tell me you asked someone to amplify these rumours?....Thinking such a situation can force me to actually date you?"

Her eyes narrowed as she clenched her fists.

"Hmmmm?"

"I am not that free to spend my time chasing a cold-hearted girl like you."

I snorted.

"If you are really bothered by such public opinion, then...."

There was a slight pause before I continued,

".....Maybe, we should cut contact, subsequently, as time passes, the commotion will die down."

Although I will lose a dating target, it’s okay, there are still countless supernatural girls in the city group that Mina made me join.

I will simply find someone else, a better tool that won’t cause so many headaches.

"What?"

As soon as I finished speaking, Asuna jumped on her spot, she seemed to be triggered for some reason.

Then, slowly recollecting herself her thoughts, her lips parted,

"It’s late!"

"It’s too late for that."

Asuna decisively shook her head.

I felt as if there was a tinge of unwillingness and irritation in her voice when I talked about cutting off contact, but the reaction was too quick for me to properly notice.

"Let’s fix this."

She exhaled after pondering for a while.

"How?"

I looked at my watch, the next Science class was about to start in 5 minutes.

"Act normally."

She continued,

"The more we try to act differently the more others will point fingers at us, so just act like the rest of the classroom doesn’t exist."

"Like we are in our own world, unbothered by what anyone says."

"When they see that we are not even talking to each other, everything will die out eventually."

Getting close to me, Asuna spoke steadily making sure I don’t miss out any detail.

I had no issues in the first place, so I just nonchalantly agreed to her.

We came back and meticulously sat at our seats like all of this was some trivial talk.

The door opened and a short red-haired woman slowly walked inside.

I was flabbergasted upon seeing her appearance.

Beatrix?

Is she our Science Teacher?

But how?

Isn’t her age the same as ours?

After contemplating, I instantly realised the reason...just because these supernatural chicks look young doesn’t mean they are also in their teenage years, probably most of them are old and maintaining their youth because of their supernatural powers.

By now, I already knew, like Asuna and Parul, Claire was also a student here, but how could all of them be friends of a teacher like Beatrix?

When did the relationship between students and teachers become so friendly?

There was definitely a big secret here, after all, to get invited to Claire’s birthday party, Beatrix must have some form of connection with her.

Beatrix’s long eyebrows, that high collar OL suit along with her graceful walk were completely different from the merciless girl who had previously burned Luther alive with her strange green flames.
