CHAPTER 605: THE GABELLA EMPIRE’S TURMOIL 3

Felix sat in the carriage, a relaxed expression on his face. His eyes were half-closed, and he hummed an unknown tune, his right hand lightly tapping a beat on his knee.
After MacDonald and Siegfried had led the army away from the imperial capital, he had first experienced a few days of excitement and tension. Then, as his and his grandfather’s forces were rapidly gathering, Felix slowly calmed his emotions.
His patience seemed to have grown. He began to organize the forces for the uprising together with his maternal grandfather, Duke Dias.
Today, he had made another trip to his grandfather Duke Dias’s residence and was now on his way back to the palace.
The carriage gradually approached the palace. When it reached the main gate, the guards on duty recognized it as the first prince’s carriage and moved the barricades to let it pass.
Felix was accompanied by a large group of guards, a full twenty of them. His guards marched in a neat formation, following the carriage into the palace.
Felix looked out through the carriage window.
“Hmm, have new recruits joined the palace guard?”
He looked at the several new faces outside the carriage and muttered to himself.
The carriage continued on, entering the palace walls and first arriving at an open square. According to court etiquette, he should have gotten out of the carriage here and proceeded on foot.
Felix stopped the carriage. Several court attendants who were waiting in the square gathered around, some opening the door for him, others holding his horse.
He casually asked, “Where is my father now?”
The guard closest to him replied, “His Majesty is currently boating on the lake in the northern garden of the palace.”
Boating? Felix found it amusing.
The battle between his two sons was about to officially begin, and their father, Bartley Griffin, still had the leisure to go rowing.
Oh, it was probably because he didn’t know what was about to happen.
Thinking of this, another thought suddenly popped into Felix’s mind…he wondered where his brother was.
Antonio, oh Antonio, Felix thought with some regret. If only you weren’t my brother.
He was so outstanding, so beautiful. If he were just an ordinary nobleman, then he would definitely have made him his best friend.
As for whether he was the son of a witch, humph, who cared.
But it was a pity. The other half of the blood flowing in Antonio’s veins made him his mortal enemy.
He was also his father’s son, the biggest obstacle to his ascension to the emperor’s throne.
The world thought he hated this younger brother because of his witch blood, but the truth was quite the opposite.
As Felix thought, he walked across the square and arrived at the front hall of the palace. His guards followed him closely.
As he approached the steps, he suddenly noticed a figure standing at the top.
Felix looked up and recognized the person…Antonio.
“My dear brother!” he said to Antonio with a smile. “I thought you had gone off to secretly discuss things with your little group again. I didn’t expect you to be in the palace.” Р𝔞Ꞑo͍ᛒĚʂ
“My dear brother, I was actually waiting for you here.”
Antonio, standing on the steps, also smiled, but to Felix, his brother’s smile had a certain special meaning.
“Waiting for me?”
Felix asked in confusion.
He then smiled. “What? Do you want to talk to me about something?”
The first thought that popped into Felix’s mind was that his brother wanted to sue for peace. After all, he must have his own spies and sources in the capital, so perhaps he had sensed something.
But you can give up on that, Antonio.
Felix said silently in his heart, I will absolutely not tolerate such a huge threat continuing to exist in the world.
He heard his brother say, “Yes, I want to talk to you about something.”
Felix’s lips curled into a smirk, his eyes filled with contempt as he looked at Antonio.
“Do we need to find a quiet place? Haha, this isn’t a good place to talk.”
Antonio shook his head. “No, this is precisely the right place.”
“Alright, alright!” Felix shrugged. “Who am I to deny my beloved younger brother? I’ll grant your request. Antonio, whatever you have to say, say it quickly.”
Antonio looked at him, his lips moving slightly.
A sentence entered Felix’s ears.
“Please go and die!”
At first, Felix didn’t grasp the meaning. He had clearly heard every single word of the sentence.
“Uh… what did you say?”
“I said…please go and die!”
This time, Felix finally reacted!
It was as if a huge, invisible hand had suddenly appeared and viciously gripped his heart.
Felix was not stupid. He immediately realized what his brother was standing here to do.
“How dare you!”
He roared, simultaneously stepping back quickly until his guards rushed up and surrounded him.
Felix’s guards reacted quickly, drawing their weapons and protecting the first prince in the middle, on guard in all directions.
From the main door of the front hall on the steps, many figures suddenly emerged, while his brother remained standing there, motionless, as if watching a play.
“Quick! Let’s get out of the palace!”
Under Felix’s command, the guards protected him and ran towards the palace gate. The square was wide and empty; there should have been nothing to stop them.
However, halfway there, they discovered that the palace gate was already tightly shut.
The guards at the gate were facing them in a combat stance. Needless to say, they must be Antonio’s men now.
“Ambolov!”
Felix stared hatefully in the direction of the gate. Among the palace guards, he spotted a person he wanted to tear to pieces…Captain of the Guard Ambolov.
Escaping through the main gate was no longer possible. Felix made a swift decision.
“To my residence in the palace!”
There, he had guards who were absolutely loyal to him, and there was also a secret passage leading outside.
So the group immediately changed direction and moved to another location according to Felix’s command.
The people who had emerged from the entrance of the front hall approached them.
“What is that?”
Felix and his guards were horrified!
A red light appeared from among those people and shot straight towards them.
They soon saw the true face of the red light…it was crimson flame.
“Ah…………!”
A guard next to Felix was hit by the flames and screamed in terror.
He rolled on the ground, trying to extinguish the flames on his body.
Someone next to him tried to save him, but was pulled back by Felix.
“Don’t worry about him! The most important thing is to get to my residence!”
Magic! That was definitely evil magic!
Were the legends about Antonio’s birth true? Was he really related to a witch?
The two groups thus began a chase within the palace!
