CHAPTER 607: THE GABELLA EMPIRE’S TURMOIL 5

“Aaaaaaaah…!”
The four royal guards shouted loudly, holding their longswords with both hands, and charged towards the white-haired Lady Corrick with all their strength.
They were indeed well-trained elite guards. After she revealed her identity as a witch, their minds had not even had time to be surprised before they took the most advantageous action for their side.
According to rumors, wizards’ magic required time to cast, so they could not be given that time.
“Foolish! Since I dared to follow you in, would I not have come prepared?”
Lady Corrick snorted coldly, her hands dancing forward repeatedly.
Just as the tips of the guards’ swords were about to touch her body, a translucent ice wall, or rather, a shield, suddenly appeared around Lady Corrick.
Upon closer inspection, one could see that the shield was made of ice.
The guards’ sword tips plunged into the ice shield, piercing it slightly and sending ice chips flying.
But that was all. Their swords could not advance another inch.
At the same time, in this nearly sealed space, everyone felt the descent of a biting chill.
First Prince Felix began to shiver uncontrollably, whether from fear or cold, he could not tell.
The guards quickly withdrew their longswords and continued to hack at the ice shield with force, but each time, it only sent some ice chips flying.
It seemed they now lacked any means to harm the witch before them.
Lady Corrick…or rather, the witch who called herself Corrick…no longer wore the familiar expression Felix knew.
That beautiful lady who seemed like a spring breeze every time he saw her, now seemed to be a distant memory.
What the first prince now faced was the biting cold wind of winter.
“Mortals!”
A term filled with contempt came from Corrick’s mouth.
Felix only heard a few squelching sounds, and the four guards standing between him and the witch suddenly fell to the ground.
He trembled as he looked at the ground, only to see an icicle sticking out of each guard’s abdomen. The icicles had pierced through the leather armor protecting them, straight into their bellies. Crimson blood flowed from their bodies, creating a large pool of blood on the ground. ⱤáN𝙤BĘs
“Your Highness… run… run quickly!” one of the guards clutched his abdomen, struggling to utter his last words.
Felix wanted to run, but his legs would not obey.
He looked at the witch who had just killed four royal guards, and for a moment, his eyes met hers.
His heart felt as if it had been viciously squeezed. Felix fell to his knees with a thud. The blood flowing from the guards’ bodies happened to spread to near his knees.
“Cor… Cor… Corrick…”
His lips trembled as he very haltingly asked his question, “You… how can you be a witch?”
The witch before him seemed in no hurry to take his life, and said indifferently, “Your Highness, there is no special reason. I was born a witch. I was born a being loathed by people like you.”
“Loathed?”
For a moment, Felix seemed to regain some courage, and his mouth stopped trembling.
“No, how could I loathe you? Oh, my Corrick, you are so beautiful, so elegant, and so… powerful. How could I loathe you? A being like you, I couldn’t even like you enough.”
“Corrick!” His tone was pleading. “I beg you, let me go. I will repay you. I will repay you for your kindness to me. Ah! Corrick…”
He suddenly thought of something, his brain working at high speed. “Come with me! You have such powerful strength, you can surely help me wear the crown. When I become the emperor of the empire, I will give you everything you want…power, status, wealth…all within your grasp.”
“At that time, people will definitely not loathe you. They will praise you, scramble to curry favor with you, and you, as my empress, will rightfully and properly accept all of this.”
The corners of the witch’s mouth twitched, as if she had smiled slightly, but it was definitely a sneer.
She took a step forward, crossing over the guards’ corpses, and came before Felix, completely disregarding the blood on the ground.
The witch’s eyes revealed a thick sense of ridicule. “Poor Felix, still dreaming at a time like this. Your Noble Highness, did you know? Every moment I was by your side, I had to endure intense nausea.”
“No! Corrick!” The kneeling Felix reached out, wanting to hug the witch’s legs and beg pitifully.
But the next second, he was kicked two meters away. The white-haired witch in long boots had viciously kicked him in the face.
Felix burst into tears. “Have you forgotten all the time we spent together? Even as friends.”
“Friends?” the witch said. “If it weren’t for His Highness Antonio’s orders, I would have pierced your heart long ago.”
As the witch spoke these words, a sharp icicle suddenly appeared in her hand, as if she really intended to stab his heart.
“Antonio?” Upon hearing this name, the sudden excitement in Felix’s heart dispelled his fear.
He saw that when Corrick mentioned the name Antonio, her originally cold eyes actually flickered.
For a moment, anger, jealousy, and unwillingness ignited a raging fire in his heart.
Especially jealousy, and this jealousy was in large part related to the lady before him.
“I don’t understand! Corrick, what’s so good about Antonio that you would serve him.”
He actually dared to loudly question this witch who could easily kill him.
Corrick was silent for a brief two seconds, then slowly said, “My heart has long belonged to His Highness.”
Although she did not specify, Antonio knew who this ‘His Highness’ referred to.
“No! No! No!”
Felix became completely enraged. “It was clearly me first… Ah, when did you two get together? Corrick, you are mine, you will be mine in the end, right? I will become the emperor of Gabella, and you will become the empress of Gabella. We will rule this country together.”
The first prince leaped up from the ground and began to dance around. He was now hysterical, on the verge of a complete mental breakdown.
“Tell me, this is just a little joke you’re playing, and what just happened was also an illusion you created with magic, and I will forgive you, really.”
Felix’s face was streaked with tears and snot, and his words were choked with sobs.
Everything had been taken away by his younger brother! Everything! He had nothing now!
“Enough!”
The witch did not want to waste any more words on this person who seemed to be a madman.
Amidst the first prince’s shouts, she began to chant rapidly.
A patch of frost quietly appeared on Felix’s abdomen, then expanded rapidly.
Just a few seconds later, with a clang, a large block of ice, vaguely in the shape of a person, fell to the ground.
“Thank His Highness Antonio. It was he who let me spare your life.” The witch said, looking at the human-shaped block of ice on the ground.
