STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 563: Large scale gathering
CHAPTER 563: LARGE SCALE GATHERING
9th Zone, B-City: Wilderness
The enormous vines couldn’t speak, but they communicated their thoughts to the purple snake.
Hiss!
The purple snake hissed. It understood that the Vine Beast would send its help.
After getting the message, the purple snake left the spot. Similarly, the other higher-tier purple snake beasts were communicating with other corrupted beasts.
Though their population was smaller in number compared to these big overlords, they could still contribute to the beast invasion.
At the end of the day, the number of corrupted beasts was greater than that of the human Beast Tamers.
This situation was the same everywhere.
Soon, other Tier-7 Purple Snakes learned that Blood Steel Mosquitoes and Vine Beasts were going to join.
So, they ordered their lower-tier Purple Snakes to go all out. It was a kind of training for them. The purple snakes that survived would break through faster.
It would be easy for them to reach Tier-6 or Tier-7 later.
These Tier-7 Purple Snakes had launched many attacks on the city during their younger days. They had grown through blood and slaughter.
Now, it was an opportunity for others, but those who were incompetent would become food for the rest.
It didn’t take long for many lower-tier purple snakes to arrive at the spot. They didn’t move towards the gate.
Rather, they spread out and covered every inch of the forest. If the human Beast Tamers dared to enter, they would die from poison, or they would become food for these beasts.
...
City Gate:
As the seconds went by, Jeremy continued to gather information. He saw that his new team members had brought their Lifeline beasts outside.
The two female seniors had their cat-type Lifeline beasts standing beside them. Both the cat types belonged to wild species.
They were larger than adult humans. One of them was a gray-silver color, and the other was purple-black.
But their agility and speed were unmatched. The purple snake wouldn’t be able to catch them. His gaze then fell on the two seniors, Tom and Dan.
There was a big flame lizard with sharp spikes on its back standing beside Tom. The spikes were releasing heat. Everyone could feel the heat standing near the beast.
Jeremy was not surprised. Most of the Beast Tamers chose common Lifeline beasts for contracts. Only people with resources would go for matching Lifeline beasts with their ability.
Then his gaze fell on Dan. There was a thick brown armadillo with hard scales, over twice the size of a human, standing near him.
The size and thick scales of the armadillo were enough to protect Dan. He could stay behind the Lifeline beast without any problem.
His gaze fell on the middle-aged man, Ben, standing at the front. There was a massive black bull, over 4 meters in size, standing next to him.
The bull’s muscles were stacked. It would crush anything in its path. Jeremy’s gaze scanned the other teams around him.
They had brought their Lifeline beasts outside, including the ones who joined later. He was the only one without a Lifeline beast.
Jeremy Night noticed that some of them were reluctant. If anything happened to the Lifeline beast, the Beast Tamer would receive the backlash. He would suffer as well.
Time went by; everyone was feeling nervous. The early daylight had touched the ground. The sky was becoming clear.
Everyone was hoping that the purple snakes would retreat.
But unfortunately, that was not going to happen.
Jeremy was using his eyesight already. He could see many vertical pupils hidden behind the bushes. Their numbers were growing.
He didn’t share the news with others. If they heard it, they would be scared. He thought the governors and other powerful Beast Tamers must have felt it already.
"Kid, where is your Lifeline beast?" Dan asked.
Hearing that, the team members turned towards him.
"Don’t worry, seniors. It will come at the right time," Jeremy muttered.
Hearing that, they didn’t feel it was a big deal and turned around.
...
On the wall, the city guards had increased their patrol. Everyone was on their toes. The City Governors were there.
Governor Black could see the purple snakes in large numbers lying low on the ground. They didn’t back away.
Governor Chloe and Carl were the same. They had spotted the purple snakes in large numbers. Their expressions turned solemn.
Governor Black didn’t give any instructions so far because Black knew that it was a trap. If they entered the forest, the Beast Tamers would die.
He found out that their numbers had increased. He could see many Tier-3 and Tier-4 purple snakes.
Their appearance meant only one thing: the purple snakes were going to launch a full-scale attack.
The various Heads were there with their helpers. Unlike others, they could tell that the beast invasion was far from over.
Because they could see the purple snakes were lying low on the ground. They hadn’t returned yet. They were just waiting for the order.
Alessandro Rossi and Matteo Rossi were looking at the wilderness. He had already ordered his son to take care of the family Beast Tamers.
His son inquired about Jeremy Night. But he didn’t say anything. He was wondering what the kid was up to right now.
As far as he knew, that kid was assigned to the other side of the wall. Even he couldn’t go there without offending the Family Head.
Meanwhile
Nico Rossi was dumbfounded. He found out about Jeremy Night’s visit to the front. He couldn’t leave his own family. The Elders had forbidden them.
He didn’t know how Brother Jeremy Night left for the front. He knew Brother Jeremy was a Tier-2 Beast Tamer.
How did the Butler let him go? The Butler refused to speak further.
Nico Rossi was scared. He immediately texted Brother Jeremy Night. He was hoping to get a reply. But there was no response.
He immediately took his device out and opened the news media channel. The news showed that hundreds of Beast Tamers were patrolling the city walls.
Most of them were outside on the ground. A small number of teams were patrolling near the watchtower.
