STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 566: Commander Bolton
CHAPTER 566: COMMANDER BOLTON
9th Zone, B-City
Time went by.
Three Governors had started fighting with the Tier-7 Purple Snakes. The Governors were Tier-8 Beast Tamers, yet it was hard for them to defeat the Tier-7 Purple Snakes.
The Tier-7s had potent venom; it could kill Tier-8 Beast Tamers. The Three Governors had experience fighting purple snakes here, so they knew how to protect themselves from the poison.
While this was going on, casualties started occurring on the front lines.
The City Governors had given orders to dispatch every single Beast Tamer in the city. So, the Beast Tamers from Central University 9 and the Beast Taming Association were coming to the front lines to fight.
At the same time, the Family Heads of the Beast Taming Families had asked their Family Beast Tamers to join the battle. It was a matter of the city’s survival. They couldn’t afford to delay any further.
On the other hand, the City Guards were replacing the injured people with new units, so the team members were changing from time to time.
Jeremy Night’s side:
There was a small pause because no other purple snakes emerged from the forest. It gave them time to check the situation.
Jeremy’s expression darkened. He had run out of bullets. He couldn’t assist the teams using the handgun.
"Damn it," he uttered.
It was because the other teams had injured people. They were replaced by other units, and even those units had faced casualties.
Theirs was the only team without injured people. It was because of the support given by him.
The City Guard, Ben, noticed the problem. He and the others had superficial injuries, but nothing serious. It was already amazing that they had been fighting for over 10 hours.
None of them had suffered serious injuries, but they were all exhausted. Their lifeline beasts were tired out. They needed rest to recover to their peak state.
The person who had used the black bow and arrow earlier noticed their situation. He appeared before everyone.
"Commander Bolton," Ben uttered.
Hearing that, the others greeted him. Tom and Dan had solemn looks on their faces. Kara and Melody were quiet as well.
"If you continue any longer, you guys could face injuries. It’s better for you to take a rest. I’ll ask for additional units," Bolton said.
Then his gaze fell on Jeremy Night. His eyes flashed with a complex glint. To be honest, he was shocked. He had seen the kid using a handgun to kill all those Tier-4 beasts.
He had spotted the weird white energy covering the bullets. He thought it could be an S-Rank Ability.
Other than that, he didn’t think of any other possibility. He also noticed that the kid hadn’t used his lifeline beast from the beginning.
"You guys should leave now," Bolton said. He didn’t want to bring up that topic in front of the others.
Hearing that, Ben, Tom, Dan, Melody, and Kara left the place. Even Jeremy wanted to leave because his starlight power was nearing its end.
His unknown beast egg needed time to recover. Compared to the others, his lifeline beast was still an egg.
Jeremy was about to follow them.
"Kid, you stop," Bolton said. He then walked up to him.
Jeremy was taken aback. He turned around and saw the middle-aged man coming toward him. He furrowed his eyebrows.
"What’s your name?" Bolton asked.
"Elder, my name is Jeremy Night," Jeremy replied.
Bolton then asked, "What’s with your lifeline beast?"
"If you had brought out your lifeline beast earlier, then you could have killed more beasts," Bolton added.
Hearing that, Jeremy said, "Elder, I can’t take out my lifeline beast. It’s a special situation."
Bolton was stunned. Then he thought that the kid’s lifeline beast might be injured. He was about to inquire further.
Rustle!
He heard a noise coming from the forest. He moved away from the place and appeared on the city wall. Bolton then saw a new wave of purple snakes coming.
Jeremy could have left earlier, but now he could see purple snakes coming towards them. He unsheathed his blade.
He held the katana blade in his right hand. There wasn’t much starlight liquid left in the mental zone, so he had to fight carefully.
Even if he wanted to go back to the camp right now, it was too late. The purple snakes had emerged. They were now rushing towards their front.
Jeremy got ready to face the purple snakes. Two purple snakes were coming towards him. The two purple snakes were Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts.
He immediately covered the blade with his remaining starlight power.
Swoosh!
In a flash, both snakes reached him. They opened their fangs to bite him.
Bolton was hitting the Tier-5 and Tier-6 snakes. His main priority was to deal with the Tier-5 beasts, but he didn’t forget to keep an eye on Jeremy Night.
Seeing that Jeremy Night was going to face two Tier-4 beasts, his expression changed.
Earlier, the kid used a shooting ability to fight with Tier-4 beasts. Now it’s difficult at close range, he thought.
Just as he was about to use his bow and arrow to help that kid, he saw something next that made him dumbfounded.
Puchak!
Jeremy used his eyesight to evade the attack at the last moment.
At the same time, his katana blade swept across horizontally; the blade sliced through the snake’s body effortlessly.
A long red line appeared on the snake’s side.
Pfff!
The next second, blood gushed forth from the wound. The huge snake then fell to the ground.
Swoosh!
Jeremy moved towards the other snake and made similar slashes to wound it. Because of the big size of the snake, it needed multiple slashes to make it immobile.
Jeremy could have stayed there to end their lives, but he charged towards other Tier-4 snakes to help out other teams.
The City Guard members saw what he was doing. Then they went to the wounded purple snakes to end their lives before they could spit venom to harm others.
Bolton recovered from his astonishment.
"This kid could use blade moves," his mouth twitched.
It had been a long time since he had seen such a talented junior.
