CHAPTER 570: VINE BEASTS!

9th Zone, B-City

Governor Carl and his lifeline beast, the crocodile, immediately retreated.

It was one thing to fight with Purple Snakes, but the Blood Steel Mosquitoes were different. He immediately moved back towards the vacant land.

At that time, the nearby Beast Tamers heard the message as well. They were all petrified and started retreating.

Governor Chloe and other Beast Tamers who had flying-type Lifeline Beasts continued to relay the message to others.

On the other hand, Governor Black and his Rhino noticed something was wrong. The Tier-7 Purple Snakes had gone deeper into the wilderness.

They should have been fighting with him. Instead, they had disappeared into the woods. He knew that behind the Tier-7 Purple Snakes, there was a Tier-8 Purple Snake.

But it had been many years since it made any appearance. He didn’t want to fall into a trap. It could be the plan of the Tier-8 Purple Snake.

So, he and his lifeline beast started going backward. On the way, the lower-tier Purple Snakes were all crushed. They were fleeing from him and his lifeline beast.

It didn’t take long for him to return to the previous place. He saw that others had gathered there.

He saw Governor Carl and Chloe. Then his gaze shifted to the other Beast Tamers. They were the Heads of the Beast Taming Forces, including the Beast Taming Families.

The Head of the Rossi Family, Alessandro Rossi, was there. Elder Matteo stood next to him. Despite being Tier-8 Beast Tamers, they were all frightened.

Governor Black realized something bad had happened. He then looked towards Chloe and Carl.

"Senior, Blood Steel Mosquitoes appeared. They have wiped out a small team ahead," Chloe said in a solemn tone.

"Blood Steel Mosquitoes," Black uttered.

His expression was grave. He knew the cunning beasts were up to something as they chose to hide deep inside the wilderness. They were trying to lure them.

"Governor Black, the Blood Steel Mosquitoes have come out. It’s not something we can handle. Let’s inform the Human Alliance," one of the Family Beast Tamers said.

They were not ready to fight against the Blood Steel Mosquitoes. Just one attack from them was enough to suck all the blood from their bodies.

More importantly, the Blood Steel Mosquitoes could enter the city. If the beasts were to fly over the city, it would cause danger to the public.

The faces of the other Family Heads changed as well.

Alessandro said, "It’s not safe to stay here anymore. Let’s go back."

Hearing that, others started to echo the same opinion.

Governor Chloe and Carl exchanged looks. It was not good for them to fight each other. Unity was important now.

Governor Black’s heart filled with anger. He knew some of them were using the opportunity to back away from the fight. He hated it.

He wanted to kill more Tier-7 Purple Snakes so the current invasion could be stopped. But the Blood Steel Mosquitoes had spoiled everything.

"Let’s go back," he said to the others.

Governor Carl and Chloe nodded their heads. The faces of the various Heads lit up.

Rustle!

At that time, long, powerful vines came out of nowhere and struck the bodies of the Beast Tamers.

Four of the Tier-8 Beast Tamers were hurled into the air before crashing into the ground. The sudden attack caught them off guard.

Governor Black saw the monstrous vines and recognized them.

"Vine Beasts," he uttered in shock.

The faces of Governor Chloe and Carl changed drastically.

"It’s Vine Beasts. Escape, everyone!" someone shouted.

Swoosh!

The next second, the Beast Tamers were flying back to their city. They didn’t even wait for the City Governors’ order.

Governor Black brought his Rhino back.

Boom!

The big rhino stomped on the ground. A crack immediately formed and continued to stretch forward.

The vines hidden behind the dense vegetation were exposed.

Governor Chloe’s Snow-Tail Sparrow froze the ground around them so that no Vine Beasts could get near them.

Governor Carl’s crocodile shot out an air vortex at the Vine Beasts.

Boom!

The air vortex landed on the ground, creating a deep pit.

A few minutes later,

The Vine Beasts stopped attacking and disappeared back into the woods all of a sudden.

But they had achieved their purpose. More than four Tier-8 Beast Tamers were heavily injured. They wouldn’t be able to fight next.

Governor Black, Chloe, and Carl were moving back to the city.

At that time, the Purple Snakes attacking the city were reduced. Everyone was having some break time.

They understood that the next wave of attack was going to happen, so the number of Purple Snakes had been reduced.

Meanwhile

Jeremy Night was using his second loaded magazine. He too noticed that no new Purple Snakes were emerging from the forest.

He couldn’t see any using his eyesight, so he relaxed a lot. He then put the handgun back in the case.

He leaned his back against the wall and started scanning the battlefield. The injured ones were once again treated immediately. Some of them were being taken back to the makeshift hospitals.

He saw the corpses as well. They were being taken to the city too. His eyes flashed with a complex glint. In this battlefield, he understood that the city guards were vulnerable.

The Tier-3 and Tier-4 Purple Snakes were like pawns. The real mastermind was the higher-tier beasts. He had seen people entering the wilderness earlier.

He didn’t know what happened to them.

Swoosh!

Suddenly, he spotted something. The higher-tier Beast Tamers were coming back. But their expressions and movements were not right.

It was like they were fleeing for safety. When this thought occurred to him, his heart skipped a beat. Because he knew that there were no Colossal Beasts here.

Then why were they afraid? In the blink of an eye, they returned and flew over the city wall. No one stopped to explain.

Jeremy Night looked for the Governors. He was impressed with the Governors. They had been fighting ahead from the beginning. He didn’t know what had happened now.

Soon, he saw Elder Matteo accompanying a middle-aged man. Their faces looked grim.
