STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer
Chapter 581: Underground Flower Bar
CHAPTER 581: UNDERGROUND FLOWER BAR
9th Zone, B-City
Jeremy Night and Nico Rossi came to the city gate. Currently, no one was coming from outside or going out. The guards were guarding the gate on both sides.
His arrival attracted attention, but none of the guards blocked him. They knew the young, talented Tier-2 Beast Tamer who could fight across ranks. They had also seen him helping people earlier.
Jeremy used his eye ability to look ahead. The forest appeared creepier in the nighttime. His gaze pierced into the deepest part.
He couldn’t find anything. Nico Rossi was confused, but he didn’t raise his voice. He could tell that Brother Jeremy was looking into the wilderness.
The city guards were also watching Jeremy Night. They too saw that the young man was gazing at the deepest part of the wilderness.
Their expressions turned solemn. Then, their gaze fell on the wilderness. The wilderness was empty; there were no signs of the corrupted beasts.
Jeremy collected his thoughts and took his gaze off the wilderness. He didn’t find anything, but his heart was restless.
He turned towards Nico and said, "Alright, we can leave."
Hearing that, Nico sighed in relief. He thought that Brother Jeremy hadn’t found anything.
"It’s a false alarm," he thought.
They turned around and started walking back.
The city guards saw that the young beast tamers were walking back. They looked at each other’s faces and heaved a sigh of relief.
They had thought the young beast tamer would say something else, but to their surprise, he was walking back without saying anything.
So, they put their hearts at ease.
On the other hand, Jeremy was walking with Nico. He wanted to rest right now. He had fought non-stop before helping people in crisis.
Now that the recovery was close to an end, he wanted to sleep. He could have used the admin building, but the admin building was close to the city wall.
If the Tier-8 Beast launched an attack, the city walls would face the first impact. There was a danger of building collapse near the city wall.
"Do you know any safe place to stay?" Jeremy asked.
Nico was stunned. He thought of a place, but he didn’t know whether Brother Jeremy would come.
"Brother Jeremy, why don’t you come to my family’s place?" Nico asked.
Jeremy paused his footsteps. He understood something; it was time for them to part ways.
He said, "Nico, I think we should separate here. The Head of my organization has come here. He is helping the City Governors, so I’m safe right now. You don’t have to worry about me."
"We can see each other later," he added.
Nico was surprised. Then, he understood why Brother Jeremy was relaxed. Since Brother Jeremy had an elder behind him, he must have a place to stay.
After some talk, Nico left. Nico went back towards his family. Jeremy smiled; he was not lying. He had made up his mind to return together with Head Neil. He wouldn’t be coming back to this place.
Before coming here, he had planned to explore this unique wilderness, but the place turned out to be deadly. The corrupted beasts had long waited to attack the city.
It was just that he had come here at a bad time. He gained clarity and started walking around the city. He was looking for a place to stay far away from the city gate.
In case something happened, he wanted some time to get ready. While walking on foot, he observed people with his eyesight.
Most of the people he came across had suffered various degrees of injuries. He began to understand how vulnerable people were against the corrupted beasts.
Sometimes humans had an overwhelming numbers advantage over the corrupted beasts, yet some corrupted beasts had deadly abilities that could harm a large number of people.
City B was the best example of this. The wilderness here was occupied by three types of corrupted beasts in large numbers.
Normally, it should have been easy for the Beast Tamers here to control the beast population in the wilderness.
But the abilities of the corrupted beasts here made it impossible for anyone else to harm them.
The City Governors and Tier-8 Beast Tamers were afraid of the Tier-8 Purple Snake, Vine Beast, and Blood Steel Mosquito.
Each of them had an ability which could harm the City Governors. He recalled that the 10th Zone was way more dangerous than this place.
They had faced the Colossal Beast and survived, though it was largely due to help from the Human Alliance. Here, they should have the power to eliminate the Tier-8 Beasts.
Yet Head Neil Moon had told him some time ago that help from the Human Alliance was coming. He disliked the defensive approach of the City Governors.
Unknowingly, he came to the middle of the city. The infrastructure here was quite intact. His gaze passed over the buildings on the roadside.
His gaze paused on one building.
[Underground Flower Bar]
The unique name caught his attention. He walked towards the shop. There were no other people at this moment; the place was empty.
But with his eyesight, he found out there were people living inside the room. He arrived at the door and pressed the bell button.
Buzz!
The alarm woke up the people inside. No one got up immediately. Slowly, a middle aged woman stood up and came to the door.
Creak!
She opened the door and looked at him.
"I need a place to rest so that I can be ready when there is a fight situation," Jeremy honestly made his request.
The middle-aged woman was stunned. As one of the staff there, she saw that the young man was a Tier-2 Beast Tamer, but his talk was big.
However, she didn’t immediately refuse. She needed to discuss it with the others.
"Wait here." After saying that, the woman went inside.
Jeremy was not surprised. He was ready to wait.
The middle-aged woman woke up her five friends who were working there as staff as well. She then told them about the situation.
