CHAPTER 253: THE ROYAL VISITOR

In order to use this weapon properly, the user must first carry out a Runic Ritual that would allow him to bond it to his soul permanently.

——

The system advises the user to perform the Runic Ritual as soon as possible. The weapon the user wields is capable of great and dangerous feats, and it could serve as a lifelong companion for the user as he grows in power.

——

Jason hummed once he saw this notification. So the hilt in his hand was actually a sword, but the blade would use souls from the River of the Afterlife? That seemed absolutely broken! What sort of abilities would a blade made from souls even have? Would it immediately suck the life out of anything that Jason cut with it? Jason was curious to find out immediately, but knowing that he had to do a ritual before he could use it gave him pause. Jason had never heard anything good about rituals, and he was a little hesitant to just agree to this. But the system sent another message.

[Runic Rituals are not only carried out in order to achieve negative or evil outcomes. A ritual is an act that is carried out to achieve or reach a certain goal, and the only factor that determines whether or not a ritual is evil is the person performing it. The user must broaden his horizon if he wishes to grow in strength in the Primordial Expanse. It would be best if he retrieves the Runic Journals written by the Lich over his years of research in order to learn more about Runic Rituals.]

Jason scoffed at the system’s tone! It was almost like the bastard was trying to lecture him about the concept of good and evil! Jason shook his head and decided that he would find the journal later. Jason knew that the system was right about rituals not being inherently evil or good. They were only made that way by the people performing them. Jason just had to make sure he was careful so that he didn’t get corrupted by some demon or something during the ritual.

Jason threw the sword into his Alternate Dimension, and he gained a smile as he looked down at the Lich’s Magic Crystal once again. The skill Jason got was amazing, and the artifact that the system had just told him about was also amazing, but there was only one thing that Jason was really interested in at that moment. Jason had finally gotten all the materials he needed to craft the [Elixir of Life], and he wasn’t going to even one more second! Jason was about to grab the [Banshee’s Tears] out from his Alternate Dimension so he could make the Elixar, but he stopped when he suddenly felt a pulse of mana spread across the entire region! Jason’s eyes narrowed immediately, and he sent out a message to his subordinates to begin moving towards him as he turned around.

A few miles away from Jason, a blue portal split across the air, and Jason began to gather his mana to prepare for an attack as multiple figures suddenly came through the portal and headed straight in his direction! There were armored men riding on black two-legged magical creatures that almost looked like dinosaurs with their thick skin and long noses. They were the same size as stallions, but they had an appearance that reminded Jason of a T-Rex. There was a single carriage in the middle of the the group that was being pulled by a magical beast that was larger than all the others. Jason noticed that there was an intense amount of mana surrounding all the armed men and from what Jason could feel, the mana was on the same level as what the Immortal Lich had! That meant they would be around SS Rank on Earth! But even though Jason had more mana than they did, that didn’t mean he could let down his guard. Jason only had so much mana because he was actively gaining mana from every subordinate under his command. There was still a chance that the armed men would have stats that were higher than their mana level.

Jason could tell that they had already seen him, so there was no need for him to try to avoid them. Instead, Jason drew one of the swords in his Alternate Dimension and watched as the men and carriages stopped on a hill a few hundred meters away from him. Jason’s Legion were already on their way through the shadows, and Jason knew that they would be here in less than two minutes. There were just under fifty armed soldiers moving with the carriage, and each of them was carrying a long spear and a sword on their hip, so Jason knew that they were most likely very well trained, and it would be difficult for him to handle all of them on his own. If these people turned out to be hostile, then Jason would dive into the shadows until his Legion was there to back him up.

Jason got a good look at the carriage and he noticed that it the entire thing was crafted from pure gold woven together in an intricate pattern. The wheels had gold rims that were carved with the insignia of a crown and the body was made from brown wood lined with gold! Even the ropes that tied the carriage to the magic beasts pulling it forward were also crafted from fine gold! Did the carraige belong to some sort of royal?

The carriage doors swung open slowly, and two women dressed in maid’s outfits came down first and stood to the side. What happened next was something that Jason thought would only happen in movies and TV shows. A bright red carpet that had gold flowers drawn into it rolled out from inside the carriage. It fell down to the floor and extended out for more than a hundred meters before stopping. Jason felt a strange amusement fill him when he saw this happen, but he got rid of that feeling as he watched someone else come out from the carriage.

It was a woman unlike anyone Jason had ever seen before. Jason had been surprised when he first met Riyala because of how down-to-earth she seemed. Even though Riyala was a member of royalty, she was very kind and one of the most gentle people you could ever meet. It was obvious just from the way Riyaal loved playing with his Legion members and how she always blushed whenever he complimented her on anything that she had a very gentle heart. If you met Riyala outside of her duties, then you might find it difficult to know that she was royalty. But the moment Jason laid eyes on the woman coming out from the carriage, Jason was immediately certain that this woman was royalty! He could feel it in his fucking bones!

She had flaming red hair that framed a small, delicate face beautifully. She wore an off-shoulder red gown that was braided from something that looked like a mixture of silk and cotton, but it flowed down her body and dragged behind her like a wedding gown. On her neck, she wore a golden necklace with the largest diamond that Jason had ever seen embedded in the middle, and she was carrying a single golden fan in her hand. The woman turned her piercing gold eyes towards Jason, and Jason felt a strange feeling of adoration wash over him. It was almost like a part of Jason had suddenly developed the intense urge to protect this woman no matter what!

Jason frowned!

’What the fuck?’
