CHAPTER 281: OUR BOND IS INEVITABLE

"Who the hell are you? Are you even human?"

Agiel’s smile widened once she heard Jason’s question, and she was about to speak, but at the next moment, a figure slammed into the ground between the two of them! Gina’s face was set in a heavy scowl as she glared at Agiel while moving to stand in front of Jason like she was protecting what belonged to her. She allowed her eyes to scan over Agiel’s body like Agiel was a piece of trash on the side of the road before she narrowed her eyes in anger.

"Take a step back or I’ll tear your fucking head off your shoulders."

Gina’s face was furious, and Agiel could immediately tell that Gina’s threat was not a joke! Gina was more than ready to throw hands at that moment! Agiel felt her own fighter’s spirit roaring to life, and the two women suddenly entered an intense staredown that caused the pressure in the region to shoot up immediately!

"Wait, Gina. I need to ask her something."

Jason suddenly interrupted the intense staredown as he put his hands on Gina’s shoulders and pulled her back into his chest. He turned to Agiel with a curious gaze, but Agiel’s eyes narrowed once she saw how Jason was holding Gina. Agiel began taking steps back before she gave Jason one last grin as she turned around to leave. Agiel knew that Jason wanted to know more about what she said, but she wasn’t going to just give him what he wanted without getting what she wanted in return. If Jason wanted the truth from her, then he would give her the satisfaction that only he could give her!

"I’ll hold onto these secrets until you’re ready to give me what I want, Jason. You and I were destined to be together, and nothing can change the inevitable, not even the feelings you have for her. If you keep running from me, then you’ll never know what I know."

Gina’s eyes narrowed in anger when she heard what Agiel said about her, and Jason called out.

"Hey, wait—"

Boom!

Agiel flew off the building in one massive leap, and Jason cursed as he immediately sent one of the Phantoms through the shadows and told it to follow her and find out anything she was hiding! Jason was tempted to just force Agiel into telling him what she knew, but he could tell that something like torture or threats wouldn’t work on a woman like that. Agiel seemed like the sort of person who would prefer to die before she gave in to any form of torture, so Jason could only hope now that she slips up and gives the Phantom some sort of lead that would help him know what was going on.

Gina looked up at Jason’s frowning face, and she put her hand on his arm and asked him if everything was alright. Gina did not like the whole interaction she had just seen between Jason and Agiel, and the fact that Agiel said that she was meant to be with Jason just made Gina’s blood boil fiercely. Gina’s female intuition was strong, and she could tell that Agiel also had an interest in Jason. But this interest was different from the innocent love that Gina had seen on Riyala’s face. Agiel’s interest was raw and primal, almost like a lion that had locked onto its prey. Gina hadn’t felt threatened by Riyala’s interest in Jason because Gina knew that she could handle that sort of innocent crush easily, but for some reason, Agiel’s interest made Gina feel uneasy! It felt like Agiel was trying to take Jason away from her!

Gina furrowed her brow as she suddenly remembered something that had happened in the past, and her eyes widened after a few seconds! Gina had seen that woman before!

’She’s the one who asked me to give Jason her card when I was leaving the Panthers guild building a few days ago! How long has she been trying to get close to Jason!?’

Gina felt even more irritated when she realized that the woman had been working behind the scenes for so long. Gina had never given Jason Agiel’s card because she didn’t trust the look she had seen on Agiel’s face even back then, and now Gina could tell that she had made the right decision. That woman was someone she had to look out for. Gina let out another sigh as she saw that Jason was still frowning in thought, and she asked him what was on his mind again.

Jason blinked back to reality, and he smiled at Gina and told her that everything was fine. Gina looked into Jason’s eyes, and she could tell that he wasn’t telling her everything, so she gave Jason one of those looks that she only used when she was getting annoyed. Jason noticed the look on her face, and he released a calm sigh before he glanced at where Agiel had gone again.

"She knows something about my father. I think there’s a link between her family and mine, but she doesn’t want to tell me what it is for some reason."

Gina’s eyes darkened as violent thoughts began to pass through her head immediately! Gina knew just how much Jason had been affected by his father’s disappearance, so the fact that Agiel was hiding important information from Jason was enough reason for Gina to get violent! Unlike Jason, Gina had far less restraint, and Gina was not above doing everything in her power to get the information that Jason needed! A hand suddenly landed on Gina’s head and ruffled her hair, and Gina let out a cute cry as Jason shook her head around playfully! Gina glared up at Jason in anger, but the blush on her face only made her look cute instead of angry, and Jason grinned while saying:

"You know you can be really scary when you go silent like that. It makes me wonder what sort of evil thoughts go through your head. But you don’t need to get so stressed over this right now; we have other things to worry about. She looks like she wants something from me, so I’ll wait until I can find out what it is before making any major decisions. So just let it go, alright?"

Gina pouted before nodding cutely while trying to fix her rough hair. She was surprised that Jason knew what was going through her head, but if Jason didn’t want her to do anything, then she wasn’t going to go behind his back. Gina went up to her toes and gave Jason a quick peck on the lips, and she smiled when she saw Jason’s grin widen. Jason turned back to the battlefield, and he saw that all the dragons and their riders had been killed. The destruction they did to the city was immeasurable, but Jason was sure that the city would survive. Humans had suffered far worse before, and they somehow always managed to come back stronger. Jason put his hand out, and a pulse of mana traveled across the region as he commanded the souls to rise and join his Legion.

"Resurrect."

None of them had the strength of mind to resist for even a moment, and they all rose from their bodies and into the real world. Jason told his subordinates to grab all the Magic Crystals in the heart of the monsters, and he sent the stronger subordinates back into his Alternate Dimension since they were done fighting.
