CHAPTER 313: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

At the side, Rufus had noticed the exchange between Agiel and Jason and his mouth literally dropped open in shock when he saw Agiel smiling at Jason! When was the last time he saw Agiel smile at anyone!? Rufus didn’t think it had ever happened before! There was even a period of time when Rufuf thought Agiel didn’t know how to smile!

Luthor walked up from beside Rufus, and he went to shake hands with Jason while speaking:

"Jason Marc. I’m glad you finally decided to join us. Where’s the rest of your guild?"

Luthor already knew that Jason was coming, but from the information he received, he thought that Jason would be coming with members of his new guild. Jason said that he had come with all the fighters he had in his guild, and Luthor raised a brow as he looked over at Gina and Riyala. Riyala was sitting on a chair at the side, and she looked like she was going to be sick, and Gina was saying something quietly to her while patting her back calmly. Luthor knew that Jason had multiple monsters that he could summon to help him fight, but Luthor thought that Jason would have at least two or three other S Rank fighters in his guild. From what Luthor could feel, he was sure that neither Riyala nor Gina had enough power to be regarded as S Rank, and at most, they would both be A Ranks.

’I hope we aren’t walking into our graves.’

This thought passed through Luthor’s mind as he nodded at Jason in understanding. Jason had managed to defeat enemies that none of them could even dream of defeating, so Luthor was willing to put his trust in him while hoping that he had a proper plan in mind.

"Jason, let me introduce you to the final member of the Enforcers who will be joining us for the raid. He had been occupied in California until just a few hours ago, but he came in as quickly as he could for this mission."

Jason looked over to see Liam gesturing to a man with red hair. The man had the sort of face that reminded Jason too much of a dog, and Jason wrinkled his nose slightly as he caught a whiff of some animal scent on the man.

’Is he some sort of animal-based superhuman? His mana smells like a zoo.’

Jason kept a straight face as he extended his hand to shake the man, but he was surprised when the man grabbed his hand a little too hard. Jason raised a brow at him, and the man spoke in a hard tone.

"The name’s Rufus. You look like you’re pretty close with the other Enforcers already, eh?"

Rufus frowned as he watched Jason raise a calm brow at him, and Rufus felt his irritation and distaste for Jason grow even more! Rufus had seen the way Agiel and Jason looked at each other earlier, and Rufus couldn’t help the ugly jealousy that rose in his heart once he saw it! It was like they had an entire conversation in that one look, and Rufus hated the fact that Jason was so close to her! Rufus knew that Jason only got his powers a few weeks ago, so that meant that Agiel and Jason only knew each other for a few days at most! How the fuck did Jason manage to break through Agiel’s tough exterior when Rufus hadn’t managed ot do it in years!

Jason finally got his hand back from Rufus, and he turned away in disinterest. It was obvious that Rufus didn’t like him for some reason, but Jason didn’t care enough to be bothered about why.

’Who’s that bombshell you just locked eyes with!? That hot one with a sexy ass.’

Esdath suddenly spoke up from Jason’s Alternate Dimension again, and Jason raised a brow in curiosity as he wondered who the fuck Esdath was talking about! There was no way he was talking about Rufus, right!?

’What!? Of course not! I’m talking about the woman!’

Hedeath felt a shiver of disgust run through him as he quickly corrected Jason’s thoughts, and Jason chuckled in amusement as he thought about Agiel. Was that who he was talking about? Jason had never bothered to look at Agiel in a sexual way before, since all their interactions so far had been confrontational, but once Esdath spoke about her ass, Jason couldn’t stop himself from thinking about it! Jason hummed calmly as he recalled the shape of her ass as she was walking away earlier. Huh, not bad.

’Hoho, I see you’re also a man of culture! I thought you were just a prude that didn’t know how to appreciate a woman’s body!’

’Shut up, Esdath. Didn’t I tell you to stop talking to me or I’d exorcise you?’

’Wait, wait! I’m just trying to make conversation here! Besides, you felt something when you locked eyes with that woman, right? She obviously isn’t like the other people around you. I don’t even think she’s from this world.’

Jason’s eyes narrowed once Esdath said this. Jason already suspected that Agiel wasn’t from this world from the interaction that they had before, but the Phantom spy that Jason had sent to keep an eye on Agiel hadn’t brought back anything useful for him. Jason asked Esdath what he could feel from Agiel, and Esdath hummed.

’Her Essence is very similar to your own. It’s a combination of various Essences mashed together, so there’s a high chance that she might be a half-breed like you.’

’So what race is she?’

’I don’t know. Some of her is human, but I have no idea what the rest of her is.’

’You’re fucking useless.’

Jason clicked his tongue as this thought passed through his mind, and Esdath cried out when he heard it! Esdath had done his best to analyze Agiel, so it wasn’t his fault that he didn’t know what other race she was from! Jason just rolled his eyes, and he ignored Esdath’s shout as Ragnar appeared from the side and grabbed him by the arm to start swinging him around again!

’Let go of me, you mangy animal!’

Jason wasn’t too bothered by Agiel’s race at all, but he knew that he would have to confront her eventually, so he wanted to find out as much about her as possible. Jason just decided that this wasn’t the right time. Jason’s gaze was pulled towards the woman sitting alone at one corner of the room, and Jason hummed in curiosity when he saw that it was Katarina Ford. Jason gestured to Liam, and he asked him what the hell Katarina was doing there. Liam sighed softly as he answered.

"We have no idea what you’re going to be facing inside that gate, so the higher-ups thought it was necessary to have Katarina give her support to the fighters. She might be a criminal, but she’s still the strongest Supporter in the world. She can boost everyone’s power significantly so they’ll have an upper hand."

Jason hummed in understanding once he heard the explanation, and he put his hands in his coat pocket as he left Liam behind and walked up to Katarina. The superhumans in the room all glanced at Jason curiously when they saw him approaching Katarina, and they wondered what he was going to do. Jason stopped just a few feet away from the prisoner, and he waited until she slowly raised her head to look up at him. Katarina’s eyes widened once they landed on Jason’s face, and for a moment, Jason saw genuine fear pass across her eyes! But it didn’t last long before it turned into a look of shame, and Katarina looked away to stare at the ground once again.
