Jason felt a rush of power passing through him once he finished the resurrections, and he could tell that this strength and mana had increased! Now that there were more monsters to help Gina and the other superhumans, Jason called on multiple [Iron Bladed Falcons] from his Legion, and they all left the battle and headed straight for Jason! Jason commanded them to cover the entire area in their iron feathers, and the Falcons wasted no time as they rained down hundreds of blades on the battlefield!
Jason tightened his grip on his sword, and he felt foreign knowledge filtering into his mind as the new skill from the system activated automatically! All this time, Jason had been using the sword out of pure muscle memory and instinct. He didn’t have any particular form or technique that he used beyond swinging the sword to take off someone’s head. But now, Jason felt like his body was instinctively moving into the perfect position for him to use the sword properly! Jason squared his shoulders, and he spread his legs slightly apart to get a better foundation! He took in a calm breath and his heart rate slowed to increase his reaction time. He wasn’t a perfect swordsman yet, but Jason could feel that he was miles better than he used to be. Jason looked around with narrowed eyes and he waited to see if there would be any movement from Jaraht. Jason couldn’t sense Jaraht, but Jason didn’t know if Jaraht was even in this dimension or not. If Jaraht was still in this dimension, then Jason would see movement when Jaraht tries to avoid the blades from the Falcons, but if Jason doesn’t see any movement, then he could be sure that Jaraht was no longer in this dimension.
’If he is using some sort of artefact that allows him to travel across dimensions, then it’ll be difficult to track him, but if he’s using a technique that prevents me from noticing his mana signature, then I can track him using the feathers!’
This thought went through Jason’s mind, and Jason suddenly turned sharply as he suddenly noticed something shift to his right! The feathers that the Falcons shot out all slammed into the ground in a constant barrage, but once they got to a certain area, they were deflected by an invisible figure, and Jason’s mouth split into a grin as he realised that Jaraht was simply hiding his mana signature!
[Sword Slash] has been activated!
SLASH!
Jason wasted no time at all as the [Death’s Mirage] immediately came to life and he unleashed a perfect vertical slash towards Jaraht! But Jason didn’t feel any resistance against the sword as it slammed into the ground, and Jason realised that Jaraht had moved out of the way at the last moment. Jason knew that this wasn’t a dangerous situation. Jaraht couldn’t attack Jason because Jason’s instincts would warn him of the danger before the attack lands, and since Jaraht was actually tangible, Jason’s subordinates, who had surrounded the area, would catch him before he could escape. But Jason knew that Jaraht wouldn’t try to run, so right now Jason just had to figure out how to track the bastard.
’Do you want me to teach you how to track him? It wouldn’t even take thirty seconds.’
Esdath suddenly spoke up again, and Jason glared at the sword.
’If you’re going to do it, then do it. If not, then shut up.’
Esdath huffed at Jason’s dismissive tone! Jason was so full of himself, and Esdath had half a mind to not teach Jason at all since Jason had been bullying him all this time, but Esdath had a suspicion that Jason was going to do something terrible to him if he didn’t help him out in this situation! Jason was smart and Esdath could see that Jason was going to figure out how to catch Jaraht eventually, and when that happens, then Jason would start to realise that Esdath was even more useless than he thought! Wouldn’t that just push Jason to exorcise him faster!
A sweat built up on Esdath’s forehead, and the old man chuckled as he said.
’W-Well, I suppose I can’t keep all the secrets of my power to myself forever. I must pass on this knowledge to a successor, and I believe you are a good enough student for my great technique!’
’Esdath, if you don’t say something important in the next two seconds, you’re fucking dead.’
’Okay! Okay! This technique isn’t very complex, but it’s really useful. It’s called Qi Sonar, and I developed it as a young cultivation practitioner to allow me to see beyond the physical realm and into the Qi Refinement realm! The frequency of my Qi and your mana is slightly different, but they are still similar enough for you to use the technique. I’m going to show you the Qi sequence, so you just need to flow your mana in a way that replicates the pulse.’
Jason felt a slight frown form on his face as he heard Esdath’s words. Jason was obviously skeptical about all this, and he didn’t know if he could really trust Esdath, but Jason decided that it was worth a try. If Esdath did anything stupid, then Jason would just send the bastard back to hell. Jason centered his focus towards the [Death Mirage], and he allowed the flow of mana through the sword to resonate with his body! The sword pulsed at a constant rhythm in Jason’s hand, and Jason’s eyes narrowed as he sensed how the sword’s power was flowing upwards and then back down at a constant pace. Jason took hold of his mana, and he began to replicate the technique from Esdath, and it wasn’t long before Jason felt a strange sensation swirling right behind his eyes. Jason’s eyes turned red as blood began to pool within them, and a sharp pain shot through Jason’s head as two lines of blood dropped from his eyes!
But Jason didn’t stop the technique! Jason could feel his vision sharpening to a sudden clarity, and the space in front of him began to crack like static on a television!
’Good! Good, just like that! You should be able to use the first stage of the technique in a few seconds! Don’t push yourself to master it! Just use it for the fight and—’
’Shut up, old man!’
Jason shouted in his head and told Esdath to shut up as he forced his mana to increase its swirling motion behind his eyes! Jason felt the static in front of him growing even brighter with every passing second, and it wasn’t long before the entire world went dark! The sky and sun dimmed into a dull white light, and the ground was a black landscape with all the rocks being shown with varying shades of grey. Jason released a heavy breath while looking around, and he wondered for a moment if the technique had failed, but it wasn’t long before Jason started to see light appearing in the landscape. Various highlights of different colors were moving across the black background, and Jason grinned when he realised that he was seeing mana. If anyone looked at Jason at that moment, they would see that his entire eyeball had turned pure black with a single blue circle shining in the center of each iris!
This was Mana Sonar!
