Chapter 550: Do Not Read

Chapter 298

“Hahaha.” Adrian softly laughed, his laugh resonating through the anger-filled room. His slight laughter was all that was needed to snap Rebecca out of what had happened.

“Sheathe your swords!” She hurriedly exclaimed, making Adrian chuckle once again as he said, “It looks like you have some rowdy subordinates yourself, my dear bit*h.”

Suffocating pressure shrouded the room in its crimson-red ethereal power that would have killed anyone who was normal. Even Max, who was an A rank was having a hard time trying to bear that pressure.

Rebecca remained silent. Apologizing for her subordinates wouldn’t help. She was the one who had fallen for a simple taunt and blanked out, leaving the place for her subordinates to make a mistake.

What this needed was either a deal or aggressiveness and from her brief interaction with the new and unfamiliar Adrian, she knew making a deal with him wasn’t a bright idea.

What she needed to do right now was show that she still had the upper hand.

She momentarily closed her eyes and then opened them again. She reached underneath her robe and pulled out a piece of paper. She extended her hand for Adrian to grab it which he did.

Once in his hands, he checked it but his expression didn’t change in the least, “And this is supposed to be?”

“The contract that you signed, binding your life with mine. You must fulfill the contract otherwise you know of the consequences, do you not?” Rebecca spoke with a cold expression but the smugness in her voice was easily identifiable.

Adrian looked at the contract and then looked at her. Rose was also looking at Adrian worriedly. The contract meant he was bound and even she couldn’t do anything to reverse it. Not unless she could make the other side nullify the contract of her own accord.

Lightning trembled inside of her and threatened to destroy her target, but Adrian raised his hands to put a stop to her actions.

Rebecca looked at Rose, her expression still cold but with the same smugness in her voice, she said, “From the looks of it, she is the so-called bit*h, would you not agree?”

“Haha.” Adrian chuckled. But at that chuckle, while everyone else thought he was being a coward, Max and Rose trembled. Pure, unadulterated fear, which had no other emotion mixed in.

That was the chuckle of destruction, or so as they knew it as that.

“It seems I’ve been awfully kind all this time,” Adrian said as he crumpled the contract in his hand and crumpled it, “People have started thinking of me as a good guy.”

~~

Using a mana contract on someone who didn’t even possess any mana was the most stupid or funniest thing I’ve ever heard.

Like, Adrian didn’t possess mana even before me so how was she able to coerce him into making this deal? And even if she did, how the hell did she know it would be kept with such an obvious limit?

The answer was simple. Either she was stupid enough to not know which she wasn’t or she was hoping I wouldn’t notice and keel over at the sound of a mana contract.

She was smart indeed and her intellect would have been very good if put to good use.

But why was she considering me to be a softy? Was she making fun of me?

“Oi, Max,” I said as I tore the mana contract in my hand.

“Yes, my liege,” Max hurriedly said,

“You were rude earlier,” I said, “Kneel down and apologize.”

“Yes!” Max hurriedly got on his knees and said, “Please forgive me for my rudeness, Lady Mikhail!”

He was so afraid of me that he didn’t even protest at such an unfair command. Well, this command was to make it fair, after all.

Rebecca looked at me, even more confused than before but her eyes were widened soon enough when she figured out what this meant.

“There, my subordinate has apologized for his rudeness against you,” I said before she could even say anything and continued, “And now it’s your subordinates’ turn.”

“I wonder what an appropriate punishment for pulling your sword at an imperial prince could be.” I mused to myself but I didn’t really need to word it.

Almost instantly, lightning flashed throughout the room, and the next moment…

Thud…

Thud…

Thud…

Headless bodies began to fall one by one on the ground. Rose remained in her place and her dagger remained in her sheath but the lightning around her was blurring. She was moving at a speed that was impossible for an SS rank. That was the speed of an SSS rank at least.

Still, her mana was a limit and she couldn’t keep that speed for long. Even now, she was slightly sweating from using power beyond her.

By the time the lightning around her disappeared, the bodies of the thirty or so knights had fallen on the ground, leaving Rebecca wide-eyed due to the immense shock.

But, the true shock was yet to come.

I extended my hand and grabbed her by her face, my hand covering her mouth. I gripped slightly harder given that she herself was an A rank awakened but still, it didn’t require much force. Just enough so she wouldn’t break. Well, at least not immediately.

“Since you like making contracts, let’s make a new one,” I said with my usual sweet smile.

She was trembling for some reason though.

‘I do have a sweet smile, right?’

[You do]

‘Then why is she so afraid?’ I asked, a little confused by her reaction.

[Your eyes]

Ahh~~ that must be it. My eyes were filled with unrestrained anger after all. Who wouldn’t be if someone were to call their woman a bad word in their presence?

[Soul entrapment has been cast]

[To maintain the skill ‘Soul entrapment’, 3 SP will be used every 30 days]

My smile deepened as the skill activated. Without a warning, I ripped Rebecca’s mouth off of her face.

“Gaahhh!!!” She couldn’t even scream properly for some reason. Probably because I was being too soft.

[Or the fact that her jaw’s in your hands]

Or that could be the reason. But I still went with the former assumption because, let’s face it, I was very kind to everyone so maybe everyone had begun to see me as such.

A proper reminder was in order.

“Eyes, tongue, nose,” I said as Rebecca fell on the floor due to pain, “What should I take next? So many parts yet a tough decision.”

“Oi, Max,” I asked the one person who was close to feeling pity for Rebecca, “What should I rip off next?”

“Her chest.” Before Max could even get flustered over my question, Rose hurriedly spoke.

Her flat-chested complex was manifesting even underneath her hatred.

“Chest it is then,” I also agreed. I get to touch it after all.

[Even at this point…]

Leaving the speechless Allison aside, it was now time to have some fun. I wonder what kind of a scream she will make next.

I was ve~ry~ curious to find out what came next.

The knights outside Adrian’s chambers were lucky enough to live because they couldn’t hear what was going on inside but even then, their mistress had been inside for quite some time and they were curious as to what was happening that was taking so long.

But even then, they didn’t do anything nor were they particularly worried about it.

Why?

Because there were almost 30 S ranks in there with her. 30 S ranks was a considerable force that only some could possess and the Mikhail House was one of them. Of course, that wasn’t their total manpower.

They possessed almost 200 S-rank knights, making them a powerful force around the world. Except for the Silver Sun Knights, no other imperial force had that much manpower on their hands, making them the second strongest military power among the nobles in the empire.

The Williams household was a little behind but still, a force to reckon with, and the strongest house among the nobles was the Hayez house, which although didn’t have so many S-rank knights, had some of the protectors who were at the SSS- ranks, making the Hayez house the undoubtedly most powerful force of the empire.

With the power they currently held, and now with their elevated status of Grand Duke, even the imperial family would have to be careful when treating them in any way.

So they weren’t worried about their mistress’s safety but were instead snickering at the misery of the useless bastard who was the shame of the imperial family.

Although his recent achievements had changed his view of the empire, he was still the fool he was to the Mikhail household because of the incident three years ago.

As they were ridiculing Adrian in their minds, the door to the chamber opened and Max stepped out. Just as he did, he swung his sword, killing the three knights instantly.

As he did, the power inside him flowed like it always did whenever he killed in Adrian’s vicinity.

“As expected, nothing beats killing for leveling up,” Adrian said with a horrifying grin on his face while a trembling Rebecca lay at his feet, her eyes blank.
