CHAPTER 552: DO NOT READ
Chapter 245
"..." Silence enveloped the room as the old men and the charming red-haired lady remained silent.
[More like frozen]
’Same thing.’
"Ah! Did you not hear me well? I called you a wh---" I thought she didn’t hear me so I was kindly going to repeat it for her but she suddenly interrupted me with a wave of mana.
[SP 195\210]
Wow. How rude.
A whopping 15 points of soul power went into resisting the mana wave of Lauren. Divine ranked were truly strong, huh?
Her mana was very pure and it threatened to tear me apart. Sirius and Cornelius were able to protect themselves at the expense of their own mana.
They were about to react when I raised my hand, signaling them to stop. The mana wave wasn’t meant as a way to hurt us anyway. She just emitted it to shut me up, nothing more, nothing less.
A warning, simply.
"Your mother must have not raised you right," Lauren said.
"Oh, she raised me just right. I blame my loose tongue on my father." I said with a smile, not bothered by her in the least.
She wasn’t going to do anything but even if she did, I had a hidden card that could easily kill her.
This world may allow up to a 3000 stats limit. It was enough to kill her in under a few seconds if I were to use this limited skill of mine.
[Archangel 3\3]
A skill that allowed me to return to my original self, and raise my power to the point of this world’s limit.
Of course, it would be a shame to waste one turn of this skill on an opponent who wasn’t much stronger than me in terms of power.
Four months, at most, was all the time I needed to obtain power until the SSS rank. After that, the skill [Angel’s blessing] would handle the rest.
Granted that even with the penta enhancement array, I wouldn’t be able to increase my stats all the way up to divine rank, but it would still make a hell of a lot of difference now that I have obtained an achievement that increased all my stats by 100.
My endurance was already in the realm of SSS-, with the [Angel’s blessing], I will be able to last a long time against her.
Of course, winning was an entirely different matter but I was sure I wouldn’t die at least.
And since she wasn’t here to fight either, it wouldn’t be a problem in any way.
"What do you want?" I asked after a while of silence. No one spoke for a while because no one knew what was going on. Lauren was here but she wasn’t after me, she was after the central government.
However, I had cut off all the bridges by taking the conversation into my hands.
She remained silent for some time and just stared at me with her bright red eyes. Seriously, if she weren’t such a bi*ch, she would have been able to charm any man with just those eyes.
[Even you?]
’I’m a man aren’t I?’
[No self-control]
’And you don’t have a second brain.’
[Second brain?]
’Lower brain.’
[...]
[Want me to give you a title?]
I ignored the threat presented by Allison and focused on the red lady who still hadn’t said a word after all this time.
"Flame Diamond." Lauren finally spoke after a lot of time.
Ahh... so that was what she was after.
Made sense though. She was after all a flame magician.
I once again raised my hand to signal Cornelius to settle down when he was about to explode in anger over the mere mention of the ’Flame Diamond’.
I could understand his anger to some extent. After all, ’Flame Diamond’ wasn’t something that could be so easily given to anyone.
An artifact from the ’Dungeon of Diamonds’ itself.
It wasn’t the only artifact from there but it was one of the very few, five to be exact, two of them divine weapons while the rest of the three were in undetermined categories.
The hammer of the holy emperor was also from the ’Dungeon of Diamonds’. Other than that, a weapon in the possession of the demons was also obtained from the ’Dungeon of Diamonds’, back when all the races were at peace.
After all, ’Dungeon of Diamonds’ was a common enemy for all of the world. But now, only humans were left to worry about it. Or more like they exploited the riches obtained from it.
As for the rest of the three, one of them is also in the possession of the church, one of them is in the possession of the vampires while the final one was given to the kingdom that used to be in the place of the central government.
In simpler words, Cornelius also stole it from someone else but right now, it belonged to his family so of course he wouldn’t be happily chipping if someone asked for his family’s treasure.
Not to mention the obvious fact of giving it to someone who was already very powerful and also a powerful threat so it could make them even more powerful and even a bigger threat.
That was right. ’Flame Diamond’ contained powerful flame energy that could help Lauren break through to the next stage in her initial divine realm.
She still wouldn’t be a match for the emperor, but at least she would be stronger than anyone else in the entire world and as long as she didn’t piss off the empire, she would be fine.
So the choice was simple. Either give up Sophien or give up the ’Flame Diamond’.
But, there was no way I was giving up Sophien. She wasn’t the Central government’s to give in the first place. She wasn’t mine either but I could decide whether someone would try to take her away or not.
If she wanted to go, I would let her go but if not, then she was mine to decide.
"She’s mine," I said in a clear and concise manner.
"I don’t care what the central government does. She’s mine and mine alone. You can try and take her, but you will lose more than your life in the process." I said while staring deep into her eyes.
She kept looking back at me and said after a while, "And would you interfere if I go after them?"
She asked while pointing at Cornelius. The meaning was clear. She was asking if it was only Sophien that mattered to me.
Well, of course, she did.
"That’s for Sophien to decide." I also replied in clear words. If Sophien told me to, I would interfere. It was that simple.
Lauren kept staring at me while I kept staring at her, neither of us blinked while doing so.
"Haa..." She sighed after a while and said, "This is why I hate men. They’re so unreasonable."
"If you want I can make you love men. All it would take is a night." I said with a charming smile.
"Vulgar." She said with a disgusted expression before she stood up and left without another word.
Until she didn’t, Sirius and Cornelius were anxious about her making a move and it was quite funny seeing two powerhouses on edge like that.
They both heaved a sigh of relief once Lauren left and just as they were relaxed, they turned to me and gave me the most threatening looks ever.
"HAVE YOU GONE CRAZY??!!!" They both yelled in unison.
I stared at them with a stoic expression before I said, "She left without a fight, didn’t she?"
Well, given the fact that she wasn’t here to fight in the first place had some contribution to that fact.
"Relax." I said as I stood up and said, "She was just here to try her luck. She will make a move but not right now. Not when everything is in turmoil."
True she came here to try her luck, but she wasn’t unaware of the situation of the human world. If she were to do anything troubling right now, she would be making a lot of enemies.
The entire human world would stand against her. She wouldn’t want that even if she hated all the men and desired power like none other.
She was ambitious. She wasn’t stupid.
"Just let me deal with her right now," I said. I was now on her radar with all the swearing anyway.
I left the two anxious old men behind and made my way to the training room.
Just because she was momentarily dealt with, doesn’t mean she wouldn’t strike back.
Oh, she would.
She definitely would.
I just needed to make sure my team was ready to face her.
So to prepare for that, I would have to break them.
Break them to the point of almost dying but ironically, that would save their lives as well.
Well, let the simple training with the simple motto ’No pain no gain’ begin.
