CHAPTER 2218: CHAPTER 2216: TIAN QIAN’S WORRY
After holding a brief meeting with all the saints, a few saints left in high spirits. Peter Brown’s remarkable display was genuinely beneficial to them, greatly alleviating their burdens.
Just as Peter was about to leave, the Saint of Heaven Origin suddenly sent a divine sound transmission, asking him to stay behind.
Soon, within the Space Domain, only the Saint of Heaven Origin and Peter remained, sitting cross-legged.
"Peter, the situation in the western region is basically under control now. However, there remains a major issue in another area. The eastern region has lost one saint in battle, and now, the Giant Being Tribe is poised to launch an attack against our clan!"
Upon hearing this, Peter immediately grasped the situation and asked, "Do you mean for me to head there?"
Slightly nodding, the Saint of Heaven Origin said, "You’ve discerned the issue. Each of us guards a region, and no one can provide reinforcements for the eastern front. Currently, although there are over a hundred Quasi-Saints in our eastern region, their combined power is entirely insufficient to confront saints and a full-force assault by the Giant Being Tribe."
Peter naturally understood the critical situation. Though having over a hundred Quasi-Saints may sound like a considerable force, it was far from sufficient to repel such an attack.
"What’s the current status of the Giant Being Tribe?"
Responding to Peter’s inquiry, the Saint of Heaven Origin explained, "The Giant Being Tribe has always placed two saints in charge per dimension. They pose the greatest threat to our clan’s existence. However, for reasons unknown, their realm has been constantly battling multiple other worlds, each guarded by two saints, along with heavy attacks by those worlds. As a result, although they could invade our Human World, they’ve seen little benefit in doing so. Instead, they’ve treated the Human World as a buffer zone, permitting our clan’s development without interference, while redirecting their power to confront the Foreign Tribes."
Peter nodded in agreement. Though the Giant Beings could seize a part of the Human Clan’s territory, their concern over coordinated strikes from all saints made it strategic for them to utilize the Human Clan as a buffer—an advantageous approach.
With a sigh, the Saint of Heaven Origin remarked, "We were careless at times. Reportedly, the Giant Being Tribe lost two saints in combat when Outer Worlds invaded their realm. In response, they sought to replenish their saints by targeting our Human World. Thus, they abruptly launched an attack against us, swiftly invading. Our Eastern Saint, caught off guard, faced an assault from two saints and consequently fell in battle."
"They haven’t continued their assault, have they?"
The Saint of Heaven Origin nodded, replying, "Currently, they aim to create a saint within the Human Clan’s territory. To that end, they still hope to use the Human World as a shield against attacks from this world. Thus, their approach has shifted to gradually incorporating the occupied territory into their Faith Energy, reshaping it accordingly."
"So, you’re suggesting I counterattack?" Peter gleaned the Saint of Heaven Origin’s intentions.
The saint replied, "Previously, I wouldn’t have advocated an attack. However, circumstances have changed. You possess the ability to vanquish saints. If possible, I hope you would head to the eastern front for battle. Others remain unaware of the situation. In the past, when our clan maintained stability, the Giant Beings abstained from action. But with the demise of two saints from our side, their perception of us has shifted. They believe our clan is doomed sooner or later. Consequently, they’ve adjusted their strategy, seeking to seize more territory to eventually birth another saint within the Human World."
"Do you think the Giant Being Tribe will launch a large-scale assault this time?"
"Earlier, it was just speculation; now I’m almost certain. Yes, they will come with full force. While their army won’t be extensive, their territorial advantage grants them far more Quasi-Saint-level experts than we possess. Additionally, in battles against the Giant Beings, our clan is inherently at a disadvantage. To be blunt, they’ve always regarded our Human World as a mere buffer zone—they utterly disdain us."
At this moment, Peter finally grasped the peril faced by the Human Clan. The truth was clear: the Giant Being Tribe never refrained from conquering the Human World because they couldn’t; they simply didn’t consider it worth their effort. Now, having suffered the loss of two saints, their focus had shifted to the Human World. If there were no unforeseen developments, the Human World would be unable to resist their assault.
Reflecting on this, Peter nodded slightly. "The western region has stabilized for now. The Demon Clan is also under assault by various Outer Worlds. For the time being, they probably won’t dare provoke us. We can consider them another buffer for our clan."
The Saint of Heaven Origin smiled faintly and nodded. "Our clan’s fortunes seemed bleak until you emerged. You are the variable that shifted our fate. If you can block the Giant Beings’ assault in the east, we might gain some additional time and hope to nurture another two saints."
Although the Saint of Heaven Origin appeared composed, Peter could acutely sense the underlying urgency in his demeanor. The Human World was indeed teetering on the edge of disaster.
"Weren’t the saints in the northern and southern regions supposed to provide reinforcements?" Peter queried.
Sighing again, the saint replied, "You understand the situation full well. If the time truly comes, won’t the Outer Worlds from the northern and southern regions strike preemptively? Furthermore, the Giant Being Tribe relentlessly employs Quasi-Saints in their offensives. Surely, they would anticipate and counter any deployment of our saints from the north and south."
Peter nodded slightly, now comprehending the Saint of Heaven Origin’s reasoning. The western region could remain stable and secure for a while. If he seized this opportunity to stabilize the east, the Human Clan might gain a semblance of respite. However, Peter could see the saint’s uncertainty regarding the future, which was weighed down by deep-seated worry for their clan’s survival.
The Saint of Heaven Origin turned his gaze toward Peter and added, "I hope you can hurry to the eastern battlefield for defense. Even if you can’t repel the Giant Beings entirely, you must hold the line to prevent them from breaking through."
Peter, knowing he couldn’t refuse, replied, "Alright, I’ll head there immediately."
Only then did the Saint of Heaven Origin smile, saying, "There’s no other choice—I can only rely on you. The growth of our Human Clan has become increasingly arduous. Many Divine Veins have been extracted by the Foreign Tribes, which has rendered cultivation within our clan significantly more difficult."
Peter remarked, "If I get the chance, I’ll extract their Divine Veins instead."
With sincerity, the Saint of Heaven Origin cautioned, "The Giant Being Tribe is formidable. Even those at the Void Saint Level possess combat strength nearing that of Quasi-Saints. You must proceed with caution. With the Killing Saints Formation at hand, I trust you’ll be able to withstand the saints’ assaults. One concern I still harbor is their potential deployment of Quasi-Saint-level experts far surpassing the Demon Clan’s capabilities. What assistance do you require?"
Truth be told, the Saint of Heaven Origin felt uneasy. Asking a mere Quasi-Saint to withstand saints’ assaults defied all precedent across worlds.
