Chapter 2362: Chapter 2260: A Family

As Peter Brown was gazing compassionately at this frail girl, he heard footsteps approaching, followed by a beautiful woman walking in.

This was the mother of this body, Melody Carter!

“Peter, you’re awake?” Seeing Peter wake up, the woman seemed to gain a burst of energy and rushed to his side to hug him, as if fearing he would leave again.

Upon seeing the woman’s haggard appearance, with his experiences from multiple lifetimes, Peter could naturally see the kind of anxiety and insecurity she felt. Sighing quietly, Peter thought to himself, this family really seems to be in a desperate situation.

“I’m fine now,” Peter said, trying to get up.

“Peter, you just woke up, lie down, lie down quickly.”

Seeing Peter awake, Melody’s spirits lifted, and a smile spread across her face.

“Peter, I was really worried!”

Kate’s soft voice also came through.

“It’s fine now, it’s fine, I won’t act recklessly again in the future!”

“I’ll get you some food.”

Melody’s face lit up with more smiles as she hurried to the kitchen area.

At this moment, Peter took a closer look at the situation inside. The room was open, shared with his mother and sister, divided only by what seemed like wild grass-made curtains. He could even see the kitchen from where he lay.

Upon examining his mother’s situation, Peter noticed there wasn’t much to make a meal except for a handful of rice and some wild vegetables tossed into the pot.

So poor!

Peter really hadn’t expected the family to be in such dire straits.

If it were before, Peter could easily change the family’s predicament by taking something out from the Elixir Sea, but now Peter was helpless too. He could see within the Elixir Sea, and there was energy repairing his body, but nothing tangible to take out.

After glancing at the Elixir Sea, Peter observed his own physical condition.

Peter was, of course, aware of his situation. His body was crucial. Without the strength to resist, nothing could be accomplished.

After observing, Peter could only shake his head, estimating that his body was ruined severely by that kid’s reckless behavior, extremely weak.

Fortunately, the energy within his Elixir Sea was extraordinary. Once it emerged, it was continuously repairing his body. In this short time, Peter already felt noticeably stronger.

As long as there’s such a change, it’s fine!

Peter still got up from the bed.

After getting out of bed, Peter saw Kate fetching water for him to wash up, and his mother had already brought over food.

Seeing the food, Peter let out a bitter laugh, not intending to eat. However, seeing the two women’s gazes filled with warmth, a familial warmth arose in Peter’s heart, and he felt his eyes moistened.

Picking up the bowl, Peter devoured the food there.

Although there was no question of how good or bad it tasted, Peter felt he hadn’t eaten anything so sweet in many years.

Seeing Peter eat so heartily, the two women’s eyes were filled with joy.

After eating, Peter looked around inside the house for a while, then walked outside, seeing a tract of fields ahead.

Recalling his memory, Peter knew that during the family division, they did get two acres of land, but farming was typically a man’s job. The original owner of this body had never farmed, and the two women were puzzled about what to do, as they naturally didn’t know farming either.

When Peter looked at the two acres of land, Emily Williams softly said, “Mother said if worse comes to worst, she would go to farm.”

Peter looked again and could see it was mountainous land, full of stones, unsuitable for farming.

The Windsor Family people were truly heartless to this family!

After seeing the land, Peter’s eyes reflected a fierce determination.

But then, Peter suppressed these thoughts. In a big family, some stewards always caused problems privately. This family was an illegitimate child’s family, naturally getting little attention. The Upper Level of the Windsor Family might not even know such a family existed.

Everything had to be solved by oneself.

“Kate, how much money do we have at home?”

As soon as Peter asked this question, he immediately saw the nervousness in Kate’s eyes.

Seeing her expression, Peter smiled bitterly, estimating that the mother and daughter feared him for spending money recklessly again.

Waving his hand, Peter said, “I was just asking casually, it’s fine.”

Peter also figured out now that it was impossible to get money from home, and likely there wasn’t much to get. What he could do was figure out a solution himself.

What to do?

In a flash of thoughts, Peter had many ideas emerging. For this family, the main issue now was survival. If this couldn’t be solved, the next steps would be even harder.

“I’ll farm this land!”

Seeing Kate still eyeing him warily, Peter said.

Immediately, Emily Williams opened her mouth, wanting to say something but not speaking. She truly hadn’t expected her pleasure-seeking brother to express a desire to farm.

Giving Kate a glance, Peter was speechless. After thinking it over, he said, “After this coma, I saw many things and learned a lot.”

Just as Peter said this, Emily’s eyes widened, looking at Peter, and she asked in panic, “Brother, is your head okay?”

Patting Kate’s shoulder, Peter said, “Come on, let’s go back.” He wanted to go back and have a good talk with Melody Carter.
