CHAPTER 37: DIVINE WRATH

The Minotaur raised its massive axe once more, aiming to crush Nolan. He sidestepped effortlessly, and the axe slammed into the ground, sending a long crack racing across the stone floor. Without hesitation, Nolan dashed forward.

"Fire Fist!" he shouted, striking the beast once more. The Minotaur staggered backward, letting out a low, pained growl. For a moment, it fell to its knees, clearly hurt—but it was far from defeated.

I thought I was already getting too strong... but I was wrong. I’ve been getting cocky. Time to end this properly, Nolan thought, raising his hand.

"Holy Lancer!" he shouted.

Five blazing golden spears descended from above, radiant and divine, each pulsing with holy energy. Nolan’s hand guided them forward with unerring precision. They pierced the Minotaur’s enormous stomach, and the creature let out an ear-shattering roar. It staggered but somehow forced itself back to its feet.

How is it still standing? Nolan muttered, a flicker of respect in his eyes.

The Minotaur swung its axe again—ten times the height of a human, heavy and devastating—but Nolan anticipated it. With a swift motion, one of the Holy Lancers shot forward, piercing the beast’s hand. The Minotaur screamed and dropped its weapon, which crashed to the ground with a deafening thud.

"Sorry... you’re strong," Nolan said calmly. "You’ve felt the pain. I’ve tested you... now it’s time to end your suffering."

He raised his hand once more, summoning a single, colossal Holy Lancer that glowed brighter than the sun itself. With pinpoint accuracy, it struck the center of the Minotaur’s forehead. The creature let out one final roar, mouth wide open, before collapsing to the ground, utterly defeated.

Silence fell over the dungeon. Nolan stood tall, hand lowered, looking down at the fallen beast, the glow of divine energy still lingering in the air.

Silence fell over the dungeon. Nolan stood tall, hand lowered, looking down at the fallen beast, the glow of divine energy vanished.

Only two remained. Even in their massive forms, disbelief was clear in their eyes. One of their allies had fallen to a single human, and the sight shook them to their core. They turned their gaze to Nolan, wary yet enraged.

When I used my Fire Fist before, I was still holding back... Nolan thought, calm but calculating. Now I know the full strength of my attacks. I won’t hold back anymore.

One of the Minotaurs lunged, axe raised, its steps pounding the ground. The other circled behind, watching for an opening.

"Shield Magic!" Nolan shouted.

A radiant green barrier enveloped him, pulsing with energy. The first Minotaur swung its massive axe with brutal force. The green shield flared as it absorbed the strike, sparks flying from the impact. Nolan’s stance held firm, his eyes unblinking as he gauged the timing.

This is one of my strongest shields yet, he thought. Now it’s time to end this.

The second Minotaur hesitated, unsure how to breach the glowing barrier, while the first, frustrated, roared in defiance. Nolan’s focus sharpened, preparing his next move.

The remaining Minotaur no longer moved with precision. Its comrade’s death had shaken its mind—it struck wildly, aimless, unpredictable. Seeing an opening, Nolan deactivated his glowing shield.

The Minotaur, noticing the shield was gone, lunged once more, swinging its massive axe toward Nolan. Nolan jumped back effortlessly, eyes gleaming with focus.

Now it’s my turn, he thought, a confident smile spreading across his face. Let’s see if you can handle this. I’ve been holding back before... now, no more.

"Fire Fist!" Nolan shouted, raising his hand as flames engulfed his arm.

Before the Minotaur could react, Nolan leapt into the air. His fist struck its cheek with devastating force. The impact sent the creature flying, its massive body slamming against the dungeon wall. Seven of its teeth shattered on impact. It struggled to stay conscious, disbelief written across its monstrous features.

Finally, with a low, guttural roar, it collapsed—and in an instant, its body disintegrated, leaving behind only its core.
