CHAPTER 50: CHAPTER50-THE GHOST STRIKES
In the tense atmosphere of the meeting room, Yule’s face was serious as he looked at the elders of his family.
"I won’t waste time on meaningless words. The Ordon Theocracy might not care whether the Veynar family still controls the Crossbridge Empire," he began coldly. "But for us, House Tascher, the Veynar family must remain the royal family!"
With that, Yule turned his gaze toward Valoria Palace through the window.
"It’s time. It’s our turn to act now," he declared.
With his words, House Tascher officially joined the conflict. The moment they entered the fray, it immediately attracted the attention of all parties involved.
The most excited among them was Troy.
So far, everything was unfolding exactly as he had planned.
Now that House Tascher had made their move, it seemed that Aurek, that fool, wouldn’t have any support left. All that was needed was for the Killer Guild to bring forth the mysterious ghosts.
Aris knew exactly what Troy was thinking.
The situation had turned in their favor, progressing exactly as they had planned.
Just as they were savoring their success, a soldier suddenly entered with a report.
"Troy, Aris, our forces have already taken control of the city gates. We can move the army into the city at any time," the soldier informed them.
"Excellent!" Troy exclaimed, his fist clenched in excitement. He knew that he was now prepared for everything. The throne of the Crossbridge Empire was practically within his grasp!
"Just a little longer. We must be patient," Troy muttered to himself.
At Valoria Palace, the three Hero Rank assassins from the Killer Guild had easily made their way toward Aurek’s residence without encountering any serious resistance.
The Scholars and Longsword Mercenaries fought with everything they had, but the gap in power was just too vast.
The Hero Rank assassins from Killer Guild only needed a single punch to severely wound the two of them.
Seeing this terrifying display, the Royalist Party members behind Aurek turned pale with fear.
"Damn it, hurry and protect His Majesty!" William yelled, rushing forward to shield Aurek.
At almost the same time, Angie stepped forward, positioning herself in front of Aurek as well.
Who among them wasn’t afraid in the face of a Hero Rank assassin? But even though they were trembling with fear, they stood resolutely in front of Aurek, prepared to die for him.
Perhaps, for them, death was a release.
Against Hero Rank assassins, they had no power to resist.
Just as the Royalist Party members thought that this would be the end for Aurek, something unexpected happened—House Tascher made their move!
"Protect His Majesty, immediately!" Yule’s voice rang out, and a large number of Expert Rank warriors rushed forward, blocking the Killer Guild assassins from advancing.
A fierce battle broke out between the two sides, with powerful energy waves clashing. Even Valoria Palace itself suffered considerable damage.
But throughout the fight, the three Hero Rank assassins didn’t intervene. They simply watched coldly, observing the scene. Then, they turned their attention back to Aurek.
Aurek remained calm throughout, his expression calm and dignified, as if the presence of the Hero Rank assassins didn’t faze him in the slightest.
"Aurek, I really don’t understand why you’re still resisting," one of the Killer Guild Hero Rank assassins spoke slowly, his tone filled with mockery.
"House Tascher has sent out all of their elite forces, and the mercenaries from the Empire are all severely wounded. There’s no one left to help you now."
"If you surrender now, I can offer you a painless death."
The Killer Guild assassin’s voice was cold and calculating as he studied Aurek for any signs of weakness.
In truth, they had come here to force out Aurek’s mysterious power.
Once this hidden strength was removed, Aurek would be nothing more than a joke in their eyes.
"Do you want to see my abilities?" Aurek’s voice was calm but carried a chilling edge as he glanced at the three assassins.
The other assassin laughed and responded, "If you don’t show your strength now, you’ll die here. Or maybe you don’t have anything left?"
"Since you want to see it, then watch carefully. Just don’t regret it later," Aurek said indifferently, his gaze locking onto the leader of the Hero Rank assassins.
"Since you Killer Guild have made yourselves my enemies, you will bear the consequences of your actions."
Aurek’s voice was low but firm, carrying the weight of imperial authority.
"Now, I order that anyone associated with Killer Guild be killed without mercy, including their families. Erase them all from existence!"
His words were like a proclamation of death, and though they weren’t loud, they carried the undeniable presence of an emperor’s decree.
Aurek had the strength to back up these words. After all, he could summon 50 Elemental Assassins every day, and over time, his strength was growing exponentially.
Moreover, Elemental Assassins were masters of gathering intelligence. With their help, Aurek would be able to infiltrate the Killer Guild completely, rooting out everything related to them and destroying it.
Clearly, Aurek was deadly serious, and his command spread quickly throughout the royal capital.
"Strike!" Aurek ordered, and in an instant, a violent gust of wind tore through Valoria Palace.
Before anyone could react, dozens of Killer Guild assassins had their heads sliced off in a blink of an eye!
Blood splattered everywhere, soaking the floor in mere moments.
It was all over in an instant.
The scene left everyone stunned.
How was this possible? These 50 assassins were all Elite Rank fighters!
Yet now, they had been decapitated in a heartbeat.
No one, whether it was Aurek’s loyalists or Jacoff’s rebels, could comprehend what had just happened.
The ghosts had truly appeared, revealing a power beyond imagination!
In the blink of an eye, 50 Elite Rank assassins had been killed, and none of them had even had the chance to resist.
Was this the power of Aurek?
For a moment, the entire Valoria Palace fell into an eerie silence.
Even Yule, the head of House Tascher, was shocked by the sight before him.
To be honest, what was happening in front of him had far exceeded his expectations!
Aurek truly possessed a powerful hidden strength.
Fifty Elite Rank assassins—such a force would be a major asset to any faction.
But in an instant, they were all wiped out, with no chance to fight back!
What did this signify?
It meant that the ghosts who had struck were far beyond the power of those Elite Rank assassins.
And the most terrifying part was that no one had even seen who had struck.
