CHAPTER 1545: CHAPTER 1597: THREE WOMEN, ONE SHOW
"Don’t cause trouble for the prince, but once you’re out of this door, we won’t be responsible," Tonohei said, staring at Li Yifei, "Consider yourself lucky tonight with a prince protecting you, otherwise..."
Honda Takeshi also let out a heavy snort, already beginning to plan how to deal with Li Yifei.
The group threw out their threats and was about to leave when Sarama took a few steps forward and said, "Stop!"
The few Japanese stopped and looked at her, only to hear Sarama say, "I don’t care who you are, but in the UAE, no one is allowed to touch my friends, otherwise don’t even think of leaving here."
Such a blatant threat, at this point, only Sarama besides Li Yifei could say it. If she dared to say it, it meant she could do it, and for Sarama, who had a thousand-strong army under her command, she could definitely pull it off.
This is one of the reasons why even her father, Prince Gibbs, rarely controls her, because Sarama is not like the other indulgent princes and princesses; she has truly proven herself through her efforts. So her occasional arrogance is still acceptable.
As the old chief would say, there’s nothing wrong with young people causing a bit of trouble; the royal family is sometimes too lifeless. Having such an adorable little granddaughter stir things up might motivate the other younger members.
The old chief didn’t mention the term "catfish effect," but the meaning was similar.
The Japanese had taken another hit; after listening, they subconsciously glanced at Gibbs, only to find his eyes looking at the night sky, as if he didn’t hear his daughter’s words.
Carrying their grievances, the group left without saying another word.
Li Yifei turned back and winked at Wu Shuwei and the other women, signaling them to relax.
Gibbs clapped his hands and said to the surrounding guests, "I’m sorry for the disturbance, everyone, please enjoy yourselves."
After speaking, Gibbs turned to glare at his daughter but didn’t reprimand her. Instead, with a slightly cooler tone, he said to Sashar, "Sashar, this is your home, as the host, you need to show some assertiveness, but you can’t neglect any guests, or else you’ll be failing in your duties as the host!"
Sashar nodded with understanding. The old man had spoken, and he had to listen, feeling a bit fortunate; it was good that his sister took the heat today, saving him from a scolding later on for losing face in front of guests.
Sa’er couldn’t stay any longer—he had already left earlier and was taken to the hospital by his subordinates.
The guests watching the scene were speculating about the identities of Li Yifei and Wu Shuwei. Someone at the scene actually recognized Wu Shuwei and whispered to the person beside them, "That woman is a senior executive of a Huaxia petroleum company, responsible for oil projects in the Middle East. I just don’t know how they got involved with Sashar and Sarama. It looks like both sides have a pretty good relationship."
"Who cares, it has nothing to do with us, it’s just an oil project. We don’t spend any money or effort but can get a large sum of money. Why not?" someone next to them said.
This is the mindset of most of the royal family members. In such cooperation projects, they can say that they have no losses, since petroleum, natural gas, etc., are underground reserves, the wealth gifted by Allah to this barren desert, and also Allah’s love for his people. They just need to enjoy it.
Gibbs turned and left without interacting much with Li Yifei, only giving him a faint look.
When Li Yifei was on a mission in the Middle East back then, he didn’t have any interaction with the officials of Dubai or the UAE, just happened to save those few princes and princesses by chance.
Sarama then reined in her anger, and when she turned her head, the shy yet expectant look on her face was the same as when she first saw Li Yifei. The flying dagger in her hand was also put away, placed back into a device on her thigh meant to hold flying daggers.
Sashar turned his head to look at his sister, patting his forehead, before coming over as well.
"Thank you!" Li Yifei said.
Sarama shook her head vigorously and apologetically said, "No, no, I should be the one to say sorry for letting those disgusting Japanese insult you and your friends!"
Li Yifei chuckled and said, "If you say it like that, it makes me feel even more embarrassed. It was us who caused trouble for you and your brother."
"I say..." Sashar cleared his throat by the side. When Li Yifei looked over, he said, "It’s enough, what’s done is done, there’s nothing wrong for now, just do what needs to be done next without worrying too much. For now, let’s find a place to enjoy ourselves."
"You go if you want, you only know drinking and chasing girls every day, what’s the use of that!" Sarama immediately glared at Sashar, chastising, "I just met Golden Eagle, find us a quiet place."
Sashar immediately rolled his eyes, spreading his hands, looking at Li Yifei with innocent eyes, "As long as it doesn’t trouble me, you can go anywhere in my house, even my bedroom is fine."
Li Yifei laughed aloud, while Sarama kept a stern face, glared at her brother, then turned to smile and invite Li Yifei, saying, "Then please follow me, I’ll take you and your friends to a quieter place."
The group arrived at Sashar’s private bar on the lower floor, and found seats. Sashar dropped them off and left, as he had other matters to attend to, leaving Sarama to entertain the guests.
Angelina also followed along, sitting together with Wu Shuwei. Facing a princess with quite high status, the two naturally gravitated towards each other and sat down.
As for Sarama, she sat next to Li Yifei. Just having brought over several bottles of red wine and champagne, she didn’t care how many years these wine had been Sashar’s collection. She went ahead and opened them all before remembering to ask Li Yifei what he’d like to drink.
"This one, it’s got some age," Li Yifei picked up a bottle, intending to pour himself a glass, but Sarama snatched it away and poured it for him.
Wu Shuwei and Angelina didn’t receive such special treatment, the two of them poured their drinks themselves.
Li Yifei took a sip, smacked his lips, nodded in approval, looked at Sarama, and introduced her to Wu Shuwei and Angelina, "This is Sarama, a friend from back in the day, though she was just a little girl back then."
"These two are also my friends, Wu Shuwei, my fellow countrywoman, and this is Miss Angelina, a senior executive at the American Oak Petroleum Company." Li Yifei introduced them one by one.
Sarama looked at Li Yifei, grinned widely. Hearing Li Yifei’s introduction made her very happy; it seemed he remembered her, and though he didn’t mention saving her back then, he did refer to her as a little girl.
The joyful Sarama even forgot to greet the two women.
Wu Shuwei felt slightly displeased, this suddenly appearing lovestruck princess had eyes only for Li Yifei, as if there was no one else but him, not even saying hello, and her gaze towards him seemed a bit too visible.
Angelina, on the other hand, was fine. She politely extended her hand, saying, "Hello, I’m Angelina, nice to meet you."
Sarama snapped out of it with an "Ah", quickly extended her hand, and shook Angelina’s, saying, "Hello, I’m Sarama, nice to meet you, and this lady as well."
Her hand then met Wu Shuwei’s in a handshake, Sarama finally took a moment to assess Wu Shuwei, finding her indeed very beautiful. According to what she had found out earlier, Li Yifei lived with her, quite possibly making her Li Yifei’s woman, so Sarama enthusiastically said, "You’re truly beautiful, like a goddess."
"Thank you, and you too, you’re the most beautiful princess I’ve ever seen." Wu Shuwei replied.
Li Yifei took small sips of wine, watching the three chat. With Sarama, the only impression Li Yifei had was minor, but he couldn’t fathom why she was so enthusiastic towards him, even to the point of being overly so.
Just then, Sarama said, "Sister Wu, I really like Golden Eagle, so please understand me."
Dubai’s laws allow a man to have four wives, but these four wives hold equal status, and whatever the man gives the first wife, he must also provide to the others, at least property-wise—unlike in ancient Huaxia where there were main wives, concubines, and minor wives.
This led to Sarama having a less conservative view on the matter, thinking that it’s very normal for a man like Golden Eagle to have many women, strange only if he didn’t have any.
She boldly expressed her affection, her shining eyes looking at Li Yifei, who subconsciously touched his nose, internally thinking whether he was really so charming that after saving a little girl back then, she remembered him fondly all these years?
Wu Shuwei twitched her lips slightly, smiled towards Sarama. Originally, she should have explained her relationship with Li Yifei; they really had nothing going on, simply living in one house but separate rooms. However, as she was about to speak, she held back, instead saying, "No problem, I don’t mind!"
"Thank you, Sister Wu!" Sarama replied joyfully, "I liked Golden Eagle when I saw him years ago, but he returned to his country back then. I never expected to meet Golden Eagle again, so... it’s a surprise, and I’m very happy."
This was even more direct. Li Yifei rubbed his nose, let out an awkward laugh, raised his glass to Sarama, saying, "Come, let’s drink to our reunion."
Although he said to have a sip, Sarama downed her glass in one go, forcing Li Yifei to finish his as well, while Wu Shuwei and Angelina merely took a sip.
Wu Shuwei noticed that Sarama called Li Yifei "Golden Eagle," which should be some kind of codename? Recalling Li Yifei’s previous mention of his time as a soldier, Wu Shuwei just considered it to be his military codename.
She planned to look into it later to figure out exactly who Li Yifei was, how he could fare so well in Dubai, and how he was so familiar with a princess from Dubai, Wu Shuwei thought to herself.
Angelina was even more astounded, quietly thinking how lucky she was to know Li Yifei.
