Super Soldier in the City
Chapter 1563 - 1615: Mobile Rapid Fire
CHAPTER 1563: CHAPTER 1615: MOBILE RAPID FIRE
Ah! Sarama exclaimed, Li Yifei couldn’t turn his gun in time. The other two quickly landed or crashed into the wall, and then the ninth and tenth ones that bounced out were also missed by Li Yifei in an unusual manner.
Logically speaking, Li Yifei shouldn’t have been unable to react to these situations, leading to missing four consecutive shots at the end. The last two were intentional misses.
Out of ten objects, Li Yifei hit five, compared to Sarama’s six; he lost.
Sarama shook her head and said, "This round doesn’t count; the machine malfunctioned, so it can’t be considered your loss."
Li Yifei smiled slightly and said, "Of course it counts. On the battlefield, unexpected events are no less; if I can’t respond to them, what am I even talking about!"
Sarama pondered for a moment and said, "You make a lot of sense. I’ll remember that, but we’re competing now, so..."
"I’m thinking about what kind of secret I should tell you." Li Yifei interrupted her, touching his chin in thought.
Sarama did not dwell on the previous incident, pouting as if very surprised and said, "Do you have many secrets?"
Li Yifei said, "Of course, a lot, very many."
"It sounds like a bad deal. I don’t have many secrets. If we keep on, soon I won’t have any secrets to share." Sarama murmured.
Li Yifei heard her but didn’t say anything, just smiled and then said, "Too many secrets, why don’t you ask one, and I can answer you."
"Really?" Sarama’s eyes lit up. Seeing Li Yifei nod, her eyes rolled, and she said, "Give me a few seconds to think."
A few seconds later, Sarama raised her head, looked at Li Yifei with anticipation, and asked, "Would you fall in love with a foreign woman?"
Li Yifei said, "That shouldn’t count as a secret, right? But I’ll answer you, maybe I will, maybe I won’t."
"Oh." Sarama was not very satisfied with this answer, but she accepted it as Li Yifei’s response.
The two continued the competition. This time, Li Yifei performed very well. In the fast-moving targets, Li Yifei hit seven targets, while Sarama did not perform well and only hit four, so she lost.
Sarama thought for a moment and said, "My beloved is a great hero, a super hero, in my heart, he is better than Superman, Iron Man, and any hero from comics and movies. Moreover, he is the only one, always hidden in my heart."
Isn’t that me! Li Yifei thick-skinned thought but couldn’t reveal it. If he did, he would face two choices, either refuse Sarama or... anyway, he couldn’t agree. The Worms inside him were still torturing him and his wives, and he didn’t want to invite trouble by provoking a woman now.
Li Yifei grinned and said, "Of course, your lover must be your hero, just as my wives are my goddesses."
"That’s different." Sarama’s eyes were bright, staring at Li Yifei, seeming to use her burning gaze to melt him.
"Continue the match?" Li Yifei reloaded and said to Sarama.
Sarama nodded and said, "Of course, we must continue!"
Li Yifei shook the gun in his hand and said, "Let’s go."
The two competed again, and this time Sarama lost again. Li Yifei’s hit rate reached an astonishing eight out of ten, a record even Sarama had never achieved despite her extensive practice.
Sarama did not feel uncomfortable or frustrated but admired Li Yifei even more. In such high-speed rapid-fire shooting, Li Yifei could achieve such remarkable results on his third attempt.
"Worthy of being the Golden Eagle, amazing!" Sarama said proudly, then continued, "The third secret is, I’ve been striving all these years to catch up with the person I love. However, now it seems I need to work harder. Otherwise, the gap between us will only widen. Although this news may be a little disheartening, I’ll turn it into motivation."
Li Yifei wanted to ask if it’s worth it. He already understood who Sarama was talking about. If someone were so infatuated with him in the past, Li Yifei wouldn’t have been too concerned, but now...
Shaking his head, Li Yifei said, "Continue the match?"
Sarama said, "Of course, I have a few more secrets. Once I’ve lost all my secrets, we can stop."
This is indirect confession through the game; Li Yifei sighed inside, regretting playing this game with Sarama. Raising his gun, Li Yifei felt slightly distracted, as Sarama fired first, hitting five shots, while Li Yifei scored six, one more than Sarama.
Sarama, not upset by the loss, put a finger on her lips, gently rubbed it, brewing, and said to Li Yifei, "The fourth secret... do you want to know who the man I’ve liked for so many years is?"
Li Yifei swallowed saliva; was Sarama about to break the last barrier? If revealed, how could he refuse or persuade her?
Thinking about it, he saw Sarama flash a charming smile and gently said, "I won’t tell you. It’s my last secret, and I must keep it."
Of course, in the Dubai aristocratic circle, this secret isn’t really a secret; everyone knows Sarama likes a man from Huaxia, a man who saved several princes and princesses back then, thus changing Sarama’s life.
However, Sarama said to herself that maybe the person she liked was called Golden Eagle, not Li Yifei. Both names belonged to the same person but represented different lives.
Li Yifei’s life spanned many years, but he was now married with children, while Golden Eagle signified another period’s glory, another identity.
Sarama almost blurted it out earlier, already seeing Li Yifei a bit tense, lips slightly parted, muscles taut around the lips, eyes narrowing... she didn’t say it, fearing it would lead to another scenario.
Moreover, this meeting made Sarama realize that despite her efforts, not only had she not shortened the distance between the two, but it seemed the distance continued to grow. No matter how well she fought, she could never single-handedly defeat over thirty mercenaries. No matter how accurate her shooting, Li Yifei could still achieve eight out of ten in such a difficult shooting task, something she couldn’t do.
Li Yifei seemed like a mystery; Golden Eagle was the deepest mystery.
Sarama kept her rationality, controlled her thoughts, so she stopped hinting to Li Yifei, timely reined in her mind’s racing chariot.
This didn’t mean she would give up, just a temporary restraint.
After a brief silence, Sarama shared another secret, unrelated yet related to Li Yifei, about her first step onto the real battlefield. Li Yifei listened, smiling knowingly. It was an embarrassing incident, not uncommon for new soldiers scared on their first battlefield, wetting their pants. When Li Yifei first went to the battlefield, it might not have been much better.
Patted Sarama’s shoulder, Li Yifei said, "You’ve shared so many secrets with me, let me give you something."
Sarama adjusted her emotions, took a deep breath, slowly exhaled, then said, "Sure, what would you give me?"
"This thing of yours can shoot a maximum of ten at once?"
"Of course not. Theoretically, it can be dozens, even hundreds, as long as it’s set up. But I’ve never tried it, generally going slowly, shooting at most ten..."
"Adjust it, let me try." Li Yifei said.
Sarama’s eyes lit with excitement, nodding forcefully, running over to the control panel to set it up again. After checking, she saw Li Yifei make a fifty gesture, so she changed the number to fifty.
Li Yifei had two guns placed in front of him. Holding one gun in each hand, fingers on the triggers, stock bracing his armpits.
Sarama returned and suggested, "I think it’s better to hold one gun with both hands; it’s more stable. Otherwise, during high-speed shooting, it’s hard to control..."
"This will do." Li Yifei said. Both guns had significant recoil that could greatly affect shooting accuracy, but Li Yifei’s strength could easily negate the recoil.
True Qi moved slowly inside Li Yifei. He teased it slightly, raised both arms, and at that moment, he was highly focused, eyes like electricity, staring at the fan-shaped space in front of him.
Sarama felt a bit nervous. The performance Li Yifei mentioned, she saw it as a miracle. Shooting fifty items wasn’t much for fifty seconds, many might accidentally daze off for that time.
Yet, Li Yifei aimed to adjust firearms in fifty seconds, withstand the recoil, capture the dizzying flying objects with his eyes, some missing, some hitting and still flying, others bouncing from different positions.
This required extremely fast brain processing speed, reflexes, and high body coordination, among other skills. Sarama couldn’t calculate it, just astounded, the gift Li Yifei gave truly brought her joy to tears.
Li Yifei was ready, looked back at Sarama, smiled at her, and said, "Are you ready?"
"I’m... ready, oh no, wait, I want to record it!" Sarama exclaimed, shaking her head quickly, turning to grab a DV, turning on all the monitoring on the range, then said to Li Yifei, "I’m ready. I want to record it, save it forever!"
Li Yifei smiled silently, nodded, agreed, raised his arms again. Holding both guns, the stocks stayed steady without any sign of shaking. Li Yifei spread his legs slightly wider than a horse-riding stance and said, "I’m ready. Start it."
