Super Strong Little Divine Farmer
Chapter 119: The Beauty Gourmet Saint
Lin Chen's knife traced shadowy arcs as he shaved the dough into the boiling pot.
What was most astonishing was Lin Chen's speed. However, the noodles he cut were almost the same in length and thickness.
Such knife skills were required to achieve this, perhaps even a five-star chef might not possess such ability.
"How about that, Lin Chen is impressive, right?" Xue Ying boasted proudly from the side.
For some reason, every time Lin Chen excelled, her heart filled with immense pride, could it be?
This was a dangerous signal, Xue Ying couldn't help but shake her head.
"Hmph, those are just showy tricks, what matters is how tasty the food is," Xue Zi Qi said with a hard mouth, although her face showed shock.
Soon, a fragrant aroma began to drift out, and Xue Zi Qi's face showed a look of surprise.
From the aroma alone, Xue Zi Qi could tell the shaved noodles would definitely be delicious.
About ten minutes later, the shaved noodles were served at the dining table, and just smelling the fragrant scent made Xue Zi Qi's mouth water nearly uncontrollably.
However, seeing the appearance of the shaved noodles, Xue Zi Qi was somewhat disappointed.
A bowl of noodles in clear broth. There was nothing special about it.
It seems my expectations were too high, Xue Zi Qi shook her head helplessly.
Xue Ying knew the noodles Lin Chen made would be delicious, so she ignored Zi Qi and started slurping them up herself.
Even though she was already full, the flavor of Lin Chen's noodles was too enticing, and her taste buds couldn't withstand the torture, so she also served herself a bowl.
Seeing Xue Ying gobbling down the noodles, Zi Qi couldn't help but be taken aback.
Xue Ying always cared greatly about maintaining her ladylike image, but now she was eating without any regard, her mouth smeared with oil, yet her face was full of enjoyment.
Curious, Xue Zi Qi took a bite. The slippery shaved noodles had just entered her mouth, and her expression changed instantly.
"Delicious, so delicious."
The noodles were slick on the outside, chewy on the inside, soft but not sticky, the more you chewed, the tastier it got.
Xue Zi Qi had eaten many shaved noodles before, even trying those from a renowned century-old brand in Huaxia, but the flavor fell far short compared to Lin Chen's.
After one bite, Xue Zi Qi couldn't stop and soon she had finished the entire bowl, soup and all.
"Another bowl," Xue Zi Qi said, left wanting more.
"Sorry, one bowl per person, there's no more," Lin Chen said with a smile.
"No more!" Xue Zi Qi's face showed disappointment.
"Sis, didn't you already eat dinner tonight? And yet you are still coveting my shaved noodles," Xue Zi Qi complained.
"Aren't you always trying to lose weight? And that was a big bowl!" Xue Ying said as she wiped her mouth, still savoring the taste of the shaved noodles.
"Brother-in-law, these shaved noodles are too delicious," Xue Zi Qi now admitted with total respect and admiration.
"Haha, not bad, right? It would have been even better if there were more ingredients," Lin Chen said, slightly regretful.
"Brother-in-law, I'll buy you good ingredients, can you make another meal for me?" Xue Zi Qi cooed.
"That will depend on how you behave," Lin Chen said with a slight smile.
"Brother-in-law, I will go wash the dishes now," Xue Zi Qi picked up the dishes and headed toward the kitchen.
"I can't believe it, Lin Chen, you actually got Zi Qi to wash dishes, she has never washed dishes her entire life!"
They say to win a woman's heart, you have to start with her stomach, and just one meal of sliced noodles had already tamed this little witch thoroughly.
After cleaning up the bowls and chopsticks, the three of them sat in the living room to chat.
"Brother-in-law, is your Little God Chef's private kitchen still taking apprentices?" Xue Zi Qi asked, her eyes shining.
"Apprentices, not really, but we are short of a few dishwashers," Lin Chen said with a smile.
"Dishwasher!" Xue Zi Qi's face stiffened.
"Well then! Dishwasher it is," Xue Zi Qi said through gritted teeth.
Now, Xue Zi Qi admired Lin Chen's culinary skills so much that she was utterly convinced, and she had made up her mind to become his disciple and learn cooking from him.
"Pfft!" Xue Ying, who had just taken a sip of water, spat it out right then.
"Zi Qi, you are the daughter of the president of Tianmu Group, a PhD in Economics from Oxford University, and a graduate of the HSD Culinary Institute; becoming a dishwasher would make Uncle roll over in his grave," Xue Ying shook her head.
"Lin Chen, you should just hand over your restaurant business to Zi Qi, she will handle it without a problem," Xue Ying said earnestly.
A lightbulb went off in Lin Chen's head; a large part of Du Sen's business was the restaurant industry, and Lin Chen was worried about finding someone to manage it. Xue Zi Qi indeed seemed like a good candidate.
Xue Zi Qi's eyes lit up: "Brother-in-law, just leave your restaurant business to me, I'll make sure everything is well-managed for you and sis."
Lin Chen nodded, "That could work, but can you drop the 'little' and just call me brother-in-law?"
"Cut it out, who's your sister-in-law, trying to take advantage again?" Xue Ying said, dissatisfied.
The group discussed the restaurant business plans further, and Xue Zi Qi, who was indeed an expert in this area, organized everything neatly.
Later, the two girls started chatting about private matters, and Lin Chen, knowing when to leave, headed upstairs to sleep.
Early the next morning, Lin Chen was woken up by a series of knocks on the door.
"Brother-in-law, today is the final round of the culinary competition, did you forget?" Xue Zi Qi said excitedly.
Lin Chen slapped his forehead; if it weren't for Zi Qi reminding him, he would have completely forgotten about it.
"Why are you so excited about me competing?" Lin Chen asked, puzzled.
"Don't you know? Anna, the disciple of the Culinary God, is also competing in this event. I came back early just to see her skills," Xue Zi Qi's eyes gleamed blue as she mentioned Anna's name.
"Anna, is she famous?" Lin Chen shook his head.
"Seriously, you don't know Anna and you dare to mingle in the culinary circles?" Xue Zi Qi said, her face showing contempt.
Anna is the Culinary God's only closed-door disciple, became an international master chef and a global culinary judge at fourteen, and has won a gold medal in the "International Culinary God Competition" defeating a hundred chefs from around the world, earning her the title of the beautiful "Culinary Saint."
"So she's that impressive," Lin Chen was somewhat surprised.
"Alright, let's go, or we'll be late," Xue Zi Qi said, pulling Lin Chen along as they headed out.
Arriving at the DY Culinary Championship's main venue, Lin Chen was startled.
The event was of a very high standard, even having live coverage by the Huaxia TV station.
"Just a culinary contest and it gets this much attention?" Lin Chen said, secretly thrilled.
The more attention it drew, the more popularity he would gain, and what was Lin Chen lacking right now? Exactly, popularity.
"Hmph, of course they aren't here for you; they are here for the Culinary Saint Anna," Xue Zi Qi said with a smirk.
"The beautiful Culinary Saint? I'd like to see how I measure up against her," Lin Chen said, his eyes gleaming with a strong fighting spirit as he looked at the promotional ad for the culinary contest depicting a pretty figure.
