The policemen who had just been about to draw their guns stopped as they heard Zhou Yunshan's reprimand and took their hands off their weapons.

Li An, seeing that these policemen were not obeying his orders, couldn't help but fly into a rage.

Lin Chen merely smiled slightly and surprisingly pulled out a cell phone from his pocket, pressing the play button. The recent conversation between the two echoed from the phone.

"How did you know about the ten million?"

"Li's family has already transferred five million to your account, kill me to get the other half a million..."

"How could you possibly know all this?"

Li An turned pale as the dialogue from the phone rang out.

Just now, his subordinates had searched Lin Chen and found nothing. Yet, where did this cell phone, recording their conversation, come from?

"We were a step too late; Mr. Du's people got to them first. She was stabbed several times and is currently in the hospital undergoing emergency treatment," Deng Fan explained.

"Damn it!" Lin Chen punched the wall behind him, which shockingly created a hole with his fist.

The others stared at the deep fist hole in amazement, knowing that it was a concrete wall. Lin Chen's fists must be incredibly hard.

"Where is she?" Lin Chen asked anxiously.

"At DY Hospital, I've sent someone to take you there," Deng Fan said.

Lin Chen dashed downstairs and got into a police car, heading straight for DY Hospital.

After Lin Chen left, Deng Fan saluted Zhou Yunshan, "Mayor Zhou, the police from DY City and those called up from the neighboring counties are assembled. Please give the order."

Zhou Yunshan stood at the entrance of the public security bureau and loudly addressed the ready-to-deploy police officers. "The Du Family has deep roots in DY City and poses a great threat. This time we must completely eradicate this cancer!"

"Yes!" The voices in the yard were thunderous and in unison.

Sirens blaring, a series of police cars rushed toward various arrest points.

Lin Chen charged into the operating room and upon seeing Qin Lan covered in blood, tears uncontrollably streamed down his face.

Seeing Lin Chen, Qin Lan forced her eyes open and managed a bitter smile, "Lin Chen, you're here. I'm sorry I didn't watch the prisoner well enough."

"No, I'm the one who's sorry for leaving you alone there," Lin Chen said with regret.

"Do you know, Lin Chen? That night together was the most beautiful night of my life. Thank you." With that, Qin Lan closed her eyes, and the computer screen showed a straight line."

"No, Qin Lan, you can't die," Lin Chen yelled desperately.

"Don't worry, I won't let you die," Lin Chen, holding back his grief, frantically searched his mind for a way to save Qin Lan.

But he searched all the ancient medical techniques and still could not find a way to save Qin Lan.
