Chapter 734: Chapter 12 Dust Troupe_2

Orianna’s mouth gaped wide, and Macrow looked just as surprised, “The chief mage showed it to you?”

“You could say I’ve seen it.” Mo Yuankai breezed over the topic, “Let me have a look first…”

He covered the entire suit of armor with the glorious light of the heroic stance, closed his eyes, as if deep in thought. The room was so quiet that the drop of a pin would sound like a thunderclap. Having nothing to do, Gongsun Ce reached out and rolled up his older brother’s hair, and was slapped away by an annoyed Orianna.

“The damage is severe.” Mo Yuankai opened his eyes, “I’ll need to study the blueprints carefully, some parts may need a redesign, but the core functionality should be preserved. If these conditions are acceptable, and the materials are sufficient, then we can proceed with the repair.”

Cheers from the knights erupted in the storeroom, even the Dawn Knight cracked a smile. “By the Holy King! That’s fantastic!!” Orianna cried out excitedly, the old commander gripped Mo Yuankai’s hand in exhilaration, “Incredible! My god… young man, you truly are a genius!”

“Let’s give it a try first, I can’t guarantee perfection.” Mo Yuankai smiled, “I’ll give the armor a thorough inspection in the morning, compare the materials and blueprints in the afternoon with the experts for a general plan, and if all goes well, we start repairs, is that okay?”

“Of course! I’ll personally go and speak to Lorenles about this!”

Macrow briskly exited the storeroom, his expression was jubilant. Gongsun Ce patted his older brother on the shoulder, “Since when do you know how to repair armor, big bro?”

“Kidding me? Your big bro I can even build a super robot, fixing armor is simple; it’s the same principle.”

Several knights entered the room, the normally stiff Gafri excitedly shook hands with Mo Yuankai, and for once spoke like a knight rather than a bureaucrat; Rakael brought a bottle of wine, enthusiastically claiming they should have a drink to celebrate the good news. In just a few seconds, Mo Yuankai was surrounded by knights from foreign lands, all eyes on him shimmered with anticipation, with attention and hope.

Gongsun Ce quietly stepped back two paces, stood in the corner of the room. He felt that all this was quite nice, the people in the Knight Order were more genuine than he had imagined, and his big brother’s prowess also made him, the younger sibling, proud… But those shining eyes and the center of attention were too bright, they lit up the entire room, leaving no place for him to stand.

Without realizing it, his smile became less cheerful, slightly tinged with gloom. At that moment, a faint sound came from beside him, Alandia had opened her pocket watch.

“I am pleased to hear that there is a possibility to repair the Holy Fire Armor. I need to follow up on last night’s case, so I will take my leave now.”

As she spoke, she didn’t look at Mo Yuankai, but at the young man in black beside her.

“Please do, Mr. Gongsun.”

Gongsun Ce paused for a moment, only then remembering he had to accompany the knight in his recent duties. He was oddly pleased, didn’t argue with Alandia, and after quickly agreeing, he bid farewell to everyone and left.

Blue-haired Yuliy was waiting in the corridor; he did not join the others in celebration, appearing somewhat out of place.

“Knight Alandia, the origins of that oil lamp have been determined…” Yuliy glanced at Gongsun Ce, and upon seeing the Dawn Knight not objecting, continued seriously, “I suspect it comes from the eastern district, from the Dust Sect of Situ Yi.”

Gongsun Ce felt the name sounded very odd but didn’t understand why Yuliy’s expression was so grave. Was this some new religious group? But to these powerful knights, what organization could pose a threat?

“Thank you for your help, Knight Yuliy.” Alandia nodded, “I will personally investigate.”

Yuliy furrowed his brow, “If I may be so bold, Dawn Knight. I can watch over this Superpower User for a short period, or I could lead a team for the investigation. To bring him along to the sect seems to be a risky move.”

“Oh, you?” Gongsun Ce mockingly said, “You can’t even keep a dog in check and you dare to watch me?”

Yuliy’s gaze was cold as ice, “Yes. I am confident I can.”

The Dawn Knight intervened before the two could argue further, “No need to worry, Knight Yuliy, I will ensure Mr. Gongsun’s safety.”

Yuliy said no more, formally bowed, and left in silence. Gongsun Ce made a face at his departing figure, not realizing how silly his gesture might appear to others.

Together, they walked through the headquarters’ grand hall and encountered a squad of white-armored knights ready to set out. The routine knights saluted and greeted Alandia respectfully, speaking in foreign languages and phrases, but their gaze made Gongsun Ce feel familiar. It was like the most dangerous Superpower Users walking in the streets of the sky city met with gazes full of awe, but laced with estrangement.

They drove off in Orianna’s white car, with the steering wheel in the Dawn Knight’s hands. Gongsun Ce sat in the passenger seat, idly watching the pedestrians on the foreign roads, the knights patrolling the main roads, and the white houses on either side. Alandia drove fast, preventing him from closely observing the street scenes of the Country.

“What is the Dust Sect?” Gongsun Ce made conversation for the sake of it.

“It’s an Impermanence Skill sect that wanders between countries, often using a traveling troupe as a front. The leader, Situ Yi, is the only permanent member, with the rest of the group consisting of local Impermanence Law Enforcers. They recruit and disperse locally, with a highly fluid membership.”

“Well, he’s from the Empire. What’s he doing running around the world all by himself?”
