Chapter 767: Chapter 22 Royal Family Scandal (1)_2
“I know nothing,” Charlie said rigidly, “all I can tell you is the aforementioned facts. Please investigate immediately.”
Alandia shook her head, “I refuse this commission.”
The Crown Prince’s eyes widened in disbelief, and he stood frozen in place. Alandia did not even glance at him as she said aloud, “Mr. Gongsun, please show Prince Charlie out.”
Gongsun Ce clapped his hands, walked up beside the Crown Prince, and extended his right arm courteously, “After you, Your Highness.”
Finally, Charlie came to his senses, his face contorted with an offended anger as he shouted like an ancient slave master scolding his servants, “You refuse?! Alandia Helison, do you know who you are speaking to?! I am the Crown Prince of the Empire, the Duke ruling over Lunster, Mangster, and Mist, the future heir to the Throne of King Morton, protected by Holy King Morton—Lunster Mangster Mist Charlie Morton!”
Alandia took a sip of her tea and said, “Mr. Gongsun, please show out Mr. Lunster Mangster Mist Charlie Morton, protected by Holy King Morton.”
Gongsun Ce grabbed the Crown Prince by the collar and dragged him towards the door. Silver light flashed from Charlie’s hand, as if he wanted to conjure something, but his sense prevailed over his anger. With a stiff neck, he roared, “This matter concerns the honor of the Empire!”
With an almost sympathetic gentleness, Gongsun Ce said, “Get lost, you disgrace to the Empire’s honor.”
He slapped the Crown Prince lightly on the face, producing two crisp sounds, then forcefully pushed him out the door and slammed it shut.
Gongsun Ce turned around and, like a butler, bowed deeply and said in elegant Imperial language, “The idiot has left!”
The room erupted in uproarious laughter. Mo Yuankai held his stomach tightly, and Orianna clutched a sofa cushion, trying several times to scold them, but she too burst out laughing.
“You went too far…” Orianna, wiping the tears from her eyes, “but…I…hahaha, hahaha!”
Gongsun Ce leaned against the door, listening contentedly to the faint shouts from outside.
“You know, brother, in those few seconds, for the first time in my life, I thought Budman was actually quite a decent fellow, and Aorus deserved to be called a gentleman,” Mo Yuankai said.
“John is indeed kingly, and Zijing seems like a living saint,” replied Mo Yuankai.
That the Crown Prince could be so foolish was indeed an eye-opener for the two, resembling nothing more than a wild boar dressed in fine clothing. It was hard for Mo Yuankai to believe that this Crown Prince was from the same family as the other two Royal Family members they met yesterday. Having seen the behavior of the rest of the high-ranking officials of the Empire, the Crown Prince’s stupidity and incompetence were unbelievably glaring—even the leaders of those insignificant groups in Cangdu seemed smarter than him.
“I haven’t run into such a 24-karat pure idiot for a long time; it’s only because of my good manners that I didn’t slap him twice.”
Gongsun Ce flopped onto the sofa and turned to ask, “Are you still going to manage this, Dawn Knight?”
“Maybe.” Alandia searched through a pile of newspapers, “Would you mind telling me what Mr. Mo and Knight Orianna’s agenda is for today?”
“They want to try fixing the core module of the Barrier; the Mages mentioned needing to enter Shadow Mist City from the museum,” Mo Yuankai said.
“Please go to the headquarters first to discuss the work,” Alandia opened her pocket watch, checked the time, “It’s 8:03 now, if everything goes well, we should meet at the museum.”
Mo Yuankai and Orianna exchanged a look, not understanding why the Dawn Knight spoke in such a manner. But since she had her plans, they did not probe further and left first.
“What do you think, Mr. Gongsun?” Alandia said, sitting at the reception table with newspapers from the last few days.
Gongsun Ce pulled out the headline of yesterday’s entertainment section, “Prince Charlie Suspected of Falling for a Same-Sex Love Scam,” and read with a rising and falling intonation, “…our charming Crown Prince has encountered a rare setback in his romantic endeavors…since the scandal broke last week, the legendary male beauty has not been seen again…according to well-informed sources, Prince Charlie has spent a substantial fortune pursuing this new love interest, which may indeed be a tailor-made scam…”
Gongsun Ce put down the newspaper and said, “A lover entering the inner chamber isn’t unusual, finding an opportunity to steal a seal is a piece of cake. Compared to mere money or treasures of the inner world, a seal—neither too big nor too small but crucial—appears to be an ideal target. Not enough to truly alert you experts, but enough to grossly annoy Charlie.”
“Quite likely,” Alandia assessed, “That would also explain Prince Charlie’s reluctant demeanor.”
“Are you really planning to take this fool’s commission?”
“I won’t accept his commission,” Alandia checked her pocket watch, “In about half an hour, a new client will arrive.”
Alandia spoke confidently, and Gongsun Ce calmly sat playing with his phone, waiting. The developments indeed transpired as she described; 35 minutes later, the doorbell rang. Gongsun Ce went to open the door, finding a golden-haired girl with braided pigtails standing outside, seemingly in a hurry, with beads of sweat on her forehead.
“Hello, sir. May I speak with the Dawn Knight?” asked the Third Princess, Grey.

Rumors had it that Prince Charlie inherited his father’s brown hair and charismatic charm, Second Prince Jackson inherited his mother’s blonde hair and resolute ironclad decisions, only Third Princess Grey wasn’t pleasing on either side. She didn’t possess her mother’s formidable style, nor her father’s flair for social interaction. Her golden hair wasn’t as pure as her brother’s but slightly yellowish, and paired with her Mage robe, she really looked like a schoolgirl still in her studies.
