CHAPTER 1210: CHAPTER 1210: FORCING HIS WAY INTO THE PALACE! (FOURTH UPDATE)

Swish, swish, swish.

A multitude of soldiers appeared in the square, and Ye Qiu and Caroline hadn’t even descended the bridge before they were surrounded.

Appearing alongside King Berlik were a young man and a middle-aged man.

These were the two who had plotted to marry Caroline off to another.

"Caroline, is this your lover? Finally showing his face, huh," the young man sneered.

Caroline stared at the young man and said, "Aren’t you just trying to vie for my position? If I leave the royal family, you’ll become the rightful first heir."

This young man was a long-lost grandson that King Berlik discovered not long ago. Having fallen from grace years ago, he was recently found and brought to live in the palace.

Interestingly, he is Caroline’s brother, albeit a half-brother, sharing some of the same bloodline.

"You... I have no designs on inheriting the throne. Stop your nonsense. You’re bringing shame to the royal family, getting pregnant before marriage," the young man argued strenuously.

"Enough!" King Berlik suddenly spoke, interrupting their quarrel, his gaze falling on Ye Qiu. He asked, "Is the child Caroline carrying yours?"

Ye Qiu shielded Caroline behind him and, meeting everyone’s gaze, said, "Yes."

"Guards, seize him." Upon hearing Ye Qiu’s acknowledgment, King Berlik immediately ordered the guards to apprehend Ye Qiu.

In an instant, numerous guards rushed towards Ye Qiu. He softly said to Caroline behind him, "Once I take these people down, I’ll get you out of here."

Caroline nodded softly.

She wasn’t worried about Ye Qiu. The royal guards were no ordinary men, but Ye Qiu’s skill was also exceptional. In the assassin world, he was known as King Yan. She believed Ye Qiu would be alright.

Berlik, the young man, and the middle-aged man watched as a large number of guards charged forward.

Before the opponents even reached him, Ye Qiu’s figure moved like lightning, vanishing from where he stood only to reappear in the blink of an eye.

All those guards holding spears fell in an instant. Within mere moments, Ye Qiu had touched a pressure point on each one of them.

Thud, thud, thud...

All guards fell to the ground, leaving Berlik and the two others stunned.

Ye Qiu extended his hand gracefully. Caroline placed her delicate hand in his, and together they walked towards the gate.

Bringing down all the palace guards in a flash, Berlik, who had seen much, realized that Ye Qiu was no ordinary man.

"Do you think you can take one of my royal members away without my say?" Berlik’s expression changed. Suddenly, several men in suits blocked his path.

With a glint in his eye, Ye Qiu assessed these men, noting their capabilities were about at the pinnacle of the Martial Artist level. Such strength is formidable even in China’s martial community. Yet, before him, they were insufficient.

Having no concern, Ye Qiu continued holding Caroline’s hand, moving forward.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...

Three figures flashed and curved around to attack Ye Qiu from three angles. They had seen him take out dozens of guards in the blink of an eye and knew he was not easily subdued; his speed was staggering. So they went for an all-out attack, seeking to take him down in one strike.

As the shadows approached, Ye Qiu leaped, intercepting each attack before it landed on him. The assailant was startled, Ye Qiu gave a faint smile, grabbed the opponent’s fist, and crushed it, the sound of bones breaking echoing through the air, causing the man to grimace in pain.

With a fling, the man was hurled away with a loud crash.

The other two were shocked, seeing Ye Qiu defeat one of them in an instant.

Quickly, the remaining two experienced what true speed was.

As their attacks fell, they realized they struck only a shadow. They hadn’t touched Ye Qiu at all.

While searching for Ye Qiu’s presence, they heard Berlik’s warnings and looked up to find Ye Qiu above them, looking down upon them.

"Too late," Ye Qiu whispered, as his figure descended like a meteorite, crashing into them, creating a large crater in the square. The centuries-old stone ground shattered.

As the dust settled, Ye Qiu stood in the vision of all, suspended above the crater, with the two palace experts buried beneath, barely alive, powerless.

Neither Berlik nor the young man had seen anything like it—these royal experts, undefeated for years, fell in moments.

Just how strong was this man?

At that moment, Caroline’s grandfather, Berlik, began to look at Ye Qiu differently, understanding why his granddaughter had affection for this man, who seemed to be a truly extraordinary person.

Swoosh.

Ye Qiu appeared before Berlik and the others, saying, "Do you have any objections if I take Caroline with me now?"

Berlik and the others remained silent; it was the first time anyone had spoken to him in such a manner.

Ye Qiu’s demeanor and tone showed complete disregard for them.

The next moment, Ye Qiu’s voice echoed in their ears once more: "If anyone still tries to stop me from taking Caroline, I’ll kill. Although you are her family, to me, your lives are as insignificant as sparrows in the sky—I can crush you anytime, flying high or not."

While he spoke, Ye Qiu didn’t even glance, pointing to the sky, and a small bird fell into his hand as if to prove the point.

This miraculous act rendered everyone speechless.

Placing the bird into Berlik’s hand, Ye Qiu smiled, turned to Caroline, took her hand, and slowly exited the palace.

During this time, Berlik had nothing to say.

Only after Ye Qiu vanished completely did the young and middle-aged men start to shout, ordering the remaining individuals to pursue him, insisting that they couldn’t let Ye Qiu take her away, as this would turn the royal family into a laughingstock if word got out.

Holding the bird in his hand, Berlik’s expression was uncertain until it fluttered its wings and flew back into the sky. He turned to the middle-aged man and said, "Activate the secret forces."

The middle-aged man was jolted by his father’s mention of the secret forces, then nodded and went to execute.

The strongest combat power—secret forces—hadn’t surfaced for many years.
