Chapter 1435: Testing True Loyalty
CHAPTER 1435: CHAPTER 1435: TESTING TRUE LOYALTY
Ye Qiu stared at the power of this fallen sword; the mountain peak had turned into a thin line of sky, and that sword just now definitely held the power of breaking through the void.
The power of the six realms paired with the Bahuang Sword could actually unleash such immense power?
Ye Qiu was overjoyed. This was something he hadn’t noticed before, and the power of the Bahuang Sword today showed him the true destructive force of a supreme treasure.
Suddenly, Ye Qiu felt a chill on his neck; for a moment, he felt as though he was being stared at by a venomous snake.
He was about to turn around when his heart tightened. He glimpsed a figure standing behind him.
"Kid, if you dare move, I’ll send you to meet King Yan." The old man’s hand silently grasped Ye Qiu’s neck, making him dare not move recklessly.
"Hand over the Bahuang Sword," the elder ordered.
Ye Qiu didn’t want to move, yet his neck tightened as those hands clutched him so tightly they were about to pierce his skin.
With no other choice, Ye Qiu willed the Bahuang Sword to come to him.
"Kid, if you dare play tricks, I’ll snap your neck without a second thought," the elder threatened, warning Ye Qiu not to think about commanding the Bahuang Sword to attack him.
Woosh...
The Bahuang Sword stopped quietly in front of him, hovering silently in the air. The elder grabbed the Bahuang Sword, feeling its weight like a thousand pounds, swinging it to the sides, directly slicing the air.
"Good sword, no wonder it’s Ge Tian’s second greatest treasure," the elder commented, holding the Bahuang Sword with relish.
But just at that moment, the Bahuang Sword suddenly flew out of his hand.
The elder’s eyes flashed, and he shouted, "Are you looking to die?"
"The sword has a spirit; it doesn’t listen to you. What can I do?" Ye Qiu said, held by the elder, not daring to move lightly.
The elder’s eyes turned, suddenly smiling: "Sword Spirit! I nearly forgot, divine weapons all have artifact spirits, and this Bahuang Sword possesses a sword spirit as well."
Understanding the key, the elder no longer blamed Ye Qiu.
"Huh, wait, the sword spirit now sees you as its master. If I want to own this sword, I must have the sword spirit accept me, recognize me as its master." Saying this, a hint of murderous intent flashed in the elder’s eyes, ready to kill Ye Qiu and seize the Bahuang Sword. Suddenly, Ye Qiu spoke up: "You didn’t come here for the Bahuang Sword, did you? Don’t forget, your sect’s Saint Heir is still in my hands."
The elder, just about to raise his hand, slowly lowered it, smiling: "You’re right. Since you know why I came, hand over my sect’s Saint Heir, and perhaps I can spare your life."
Ye Qiu wouldn’t believe the elder’s words. He came for the Saint Heir, but seeing the Bahuang Sword now, how could he give it up? If he wants to own the Bahuang Sword, he must kill him to get the sword spirit’s recognition. Ye Qiu does not believe the other would spare him; these words were pure nonsense. He dared bet that once he found the Saint Heir he sought, he would undoubtedly kill him without hesitation.
"I can take you to find the Saint Heir you want. Could you please let me go first?" Ye Qiu asked.
"Let you go? Haha, kid, stop dreaming. What if you run away? Just lead the way and release my sect’s Saint Heir." The elder said.
"Alright, but may I ask whom you wish to see?" Ye Qiu asked. Though coerced by the elder, he remained calm and composed.
"I heard you caught quite a few Saint Heirs; it seems true. My sect’s Saint Heir is the Qingyun Saint Son. Just hand over the Qingyun Saint Son first," the elder said.
"Fine, I will take you to the Qingyun Saint Son now," Ye Qiu said, preparing to lead the way.
"Wait, some days ago, many people came to your Wangyue Peak, then disappeared without a trace. Explain to me, just what is going on?" The elder feared Ye Qiu playing tricks, intending to hear Ye Qiu’s explanation for the previous disappearances first.
"If I say I defeated them all and imprisoned them together, would you believe it?" Ye Qiu asked.
"Haha, just you? You’re not even my match; how could you face so many formidable ones? What’s really going on? Spill the truth." The elder demanded.
"Even if you don’t believe it, I don’t either. If a martial artist so powerful did come to me, how am I still standing here intact? So, you see, the information you’ve heard is actually false. Actually, they were not great martial artists, just my friends pretending to be formidable, showing off to others, making more people fear me, Ye Qiu, and hesitate to offend." Ye Qiu explained smoothly.
Oh?
The elder listened to this explanation, which seemed reasonable. If Ye Qiu were truly so powerful, he would already be defeated; how could he be caught, approached by himself?
"Kid, you are indeed smart, aim to create fear in others, to make them dread you. Hmm, at such a young age, to accomplish something like this, you are indeed a character," the elder remarked.
Still uneasy, he managed to face the temptation of the Tai Huang Bell without charging into the illusion array immediately because he remained cautious, careful; only caution sails the ship for ten thousand years.
Swish.
A sweep of his gaze, the elder spotted Qin Feng in the distance and shouted, "Come here."
Seeing himself discovered by the elder, Qin Feng could no longer hide and had no choice but to approach obediently.
"You heard what he said, right?" the elder asked.
Qin Feng nodded.
"You’ve been with this kid for a while, haven’t you? Just tell me whether what he just said is truthful, and I might consider letting you come with me as my disciple, how about it?"
"I’m an elder of Qingyun Sect; Qingyun Sect is not a great sect in the ancestral land, but it is not weak, far stronger than you following such a native without a background or backing."
"Think carefully, you must know where Qingyun Saint Son was imprisoned by him. However, I don’t want to know that now; I only want to know whether what he just said is true or false. Can you tell me?"
Under the elder’s gaze, Qin Feng did not speak immediately, his expression appearing to struggle.
Ye Qiu also watched Qin Feng. If Qin Feng revealed that all Ye Qiu’s previous words were lies, Ye Qiu would certainly be killed by the elder. Qin Feng knew Qingyun Saint Son was trapped in the array; merely by nodding, he could indeed gain the elder’s approval, become his man.
Qin Feng’s choice, whether to betray or firmly stand by him, Ye Qiu was also unsure.
"Senior, he didn’t lie. Previously, it was indeed the young master’s deliberate guise to make others look up and not dare to offend lightly." Qin Feng showed a respectful demeanor, his expression serious, solemn.
The elder stared into Qin Feng’s eyes for a long while, then said, "You truly are a loyal person."
Words rang at Ye Qiu’s ear: "I presume you dare not deceive me either, you there- yes, you." The elder pointed at Qin Feng, "Lead the way."
Qin Feng nodded, then proceeded to walk towards another part of the peak.
"Is it here?" Seeing Qin Feng stop, the elder glanced around and asked.
"That’s right, the young master initially trapped Qingyun Saint Son here," Qin Feng said.
The elder surveyed the smoky surroundings, frowned, did not move forward, instructing Qin Feng: "Go, keep going."
Saying this, Qin Feng led the elder into the mist.
Not long after the three entered the mist, three aerial attacks suddenly came flying. Though alert, the elder was slightly caught off guard by the swift speed of these attacks, and at that moment, Ye Qiu twisted his body, swung a fist at the elder, who promptly slapped Ye Qiu on the shoulder.
Bang.
Ye Qiu flew backward, caught by Qin Feng.
"You dare deceive me!" As attacks from all sides came near continuously, the elder understood he had been tricked. Ye Qiu grabbed Qin Feng and uttered ’run.’
The two quickly disappeared into the mist, and the elder pursued for a while, unable to catch them. Upon returning, he found he couldn’t locate the way he came.
At this point, Ye Qiu’s voice echoed from all directions: "Old fool, aren’t you keen on knowing whether my previous words are true or false? You’ll soon find out."
The elder’s face turned stony as he realized he had been lured into a grand array. Only now did he understand all of Ye Qiu’s previous words were lies, solely spoken to let him lower his guard and lead him here.
"Damn native, don’t let me out, or I’ll definitely not spare you!"
Suddenly, the Bahuang Sword in his hand slipped away like a loach, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
