CHAPTER 1476: CHAPTER 1476: ENRAGED! SECOND UPDATE
In the sky, Ye Qiu noticed the failed attacks of Satan and the Blood Patriarch. The eight-headed serpent was engaging him in battle but could still spare attention to block the other two.
Ye Qiu slightly underestimated the monster before him.
Its eight heads were not just for show; it evidently had eight personas and intelligences that could work together against the enemy or act independently.
On the sea, the eight-headed serpent’s tail drifted slowly before the Emperor, seemingly like his bodyguard, ready to strike at the first sign of an invasion.
"With the help of the eight-headed serpent, do you think you can kill me? I can tell you bluntly, the power it displays now is just the tip of the iceberg. Once it uses its full strength, you’ll all be buried with it."
The Emperor stared at Satan and the Blood Patriarch, speaking with great pride. He wanted to see terror in their eyes, but without the eight-headed serpent showcasing its full strength, it seemed difficult to see fear on their faces.
The two remained silent, exchanging glances, and attacked again. If the three of them couldn’t kill the Emperor now, it would be much harder in the future. If they split apart, they risked being defeated one by one by the Emperor.
Since they had drawn the bow, there was no turning back. Someone had to die today to end the conflict entirely.
"Seems like we’ll have to show our true strength," the Blood Patriarch said to Satan.
Satan smiled: "I didn’t want to use it, but there’s no choice. I’ll have to use my essence."
As he spoke, Satan seemed to heat up, his body turning nearly red with two bumps visibly swelling on his forehead, growing rapidly and emerging into two sharp protrusions.
In an instant, Satan was almost a different person, his aura entirely changed, as did his appearance.
If Satan had been human before, he now truly looked like a demon, with dark red skin and hot breath flaring from his nostrils. Most striking were the two horns on his forehead, somewhat reminiscent of the Bull Demon King.
This was Satan’s strongest form: his demonic state.
Meanwhile, the Blood Patriarch’s body crackled, expanding larger, his hair growing out instantly. His once-elderly visage turned youthful, from an old man to a handsome youth. Only Amund, watching from afar, truly understood the transformation’s root cause – the Blood Patriarch had unleashed his true power, becoming the strongest vampire.
Satan and the Blood Patriarch completed their transformations, their strength reaching its peak, appearing like two divine beings descended to the world.
"Showing your real strength? Heh...let’s see how long you last," the Emperor sneered. Without the eight-headed serpent, he would have to fear them alone. Facing two at once, he would need to flee. But now, he had the serpent’s power, enough to give his old rivals a hard time.
"Kill!"
Satan and the Blood Patriarch unleashed brilliant bursts of divine light, launching a full-fledged attack.
The eight-headed serpent’s tail swung directly at them; Satan caught it in his hands while the Blood Patriarch appeared above, his fingernails glinting with a sinister chill as he plunged down with ten claws.
Thud!
He pierced into the tail’s flesh; blood sprayed, drenching the Blood Patriarch’s face.
Spit!
The Blood Patriarch, sensing something off with the serpent’s blood, spat it out. The Emperor’s mocking laughter rang out: "What, parasite? Aren’t you going to drink this blood? It tastes quite good."
The Blood Patriarch’s eyes gleamed—he wouldn’t drink that blood. Merely from its stench, he could tell how filthy it was, mixed with the blood of thousands of humans and various animals. The vampires, with their cleanliness obsession, would rather avoid such blood.
The Emperor had pushed the Japanese imperial family to collect the blood to revive the eight-headed serpent, understanding it more deeply than the Blood Patriarch, hence his taunt upon seeing the spray hit the Blood Patriarch’s face.
Swish, swish.
The Blood Patriarch retracted his hand, the pierced tail quickly healing, becoming whole in an instant. Then it twisted forcefully, freeing itself from Satan’s grasp and breaking loose.
"Focus on the fake god first," Satan said.
The Blood Patriarch nodded; killing the eight-headed serpent was pointless. The strategy was to seize the chance to kill the Emperor.
Ye Qiu was locked in a fierce struggle with the serpent, so the pair couldn’t count on him joining the fight against the Emperor.
The two figures flashed in quick succession, trying to close in on the Emperor, appearing at various points around him.
However, the eight-headed serpent seemed to foresee their moves, countering with its tail at every spot they reached, thwarting their progress in reaching the Emperor.
Especially since they couldn’t maintain this transformed state much longer. If the Emperor wasn’t dead by then, they’d be at risk.
The Emperor stood on the sea, watching them draw near only to be repeatedly blocked by the tail, with a smile.
"After your energy is depleted, that’s when I’ll counterattack."
"You think you can kill us? Keep dreaming." Spurred by the Emperor’s words, Satan and the Blood Patriarch charged at him, almost recklessly.
Though the serpent’s tail swipe could flatten a mountain, they blindly rushed through, getting knocked back and sustaining injuries. Yet, they paid no mind to their wounds, focused instead on breaching the defense line of the tail. Otherwise, delay would turn advantage into disadvantage.
As they fretted, suddenly the sea splashed with a crackle; they looked closely—a serpent head crashed down.
Huh?
Roar...
Several other serpent heads roared in anger, for Ye Qiu had just severed three heads in a row, infuriating the serpent.
As blood gushed, new heads regrew, Ye Qiu squinted, musing to himself: "A weaker aura... so the heads are your weakness. Just how many times must I sever them to finally kill you?"
The eight-headed serpent’s roar also startled the Emperor, who sensed something awry, feeling the serpent’s turmoil and anger, wishing to swallow the oriental man in the sky.
With each head roaring simultaneously, the serpent’s might was unmistakable, but to Satan and the Blood Patriarch, it was an opportunity. As long as the serpent’s focus was on Ye Qiu, they might harm the Emperor.
"Again."
Satan and the Blood Patriarch struck at once, and this time, the serpent’s tail indeed didn’t block them. Their spirits lifted as they shouted at the Emperor: "Die!"
