CHAPTER 287: COMING TO THE DOOR?

Wang Yannian and Zhao Changlin set out together, heading to the villa where Su Lin resided. Meanwhile, having hung up the phone, Xiao Feiyu sighed deeply. He knew that relying solely on Wang Yannian and Zhao Changlin wouldn’t be enough to thoroughly deal with Su Lin.

“Are you waiting for a phone call?” While preparing to rest, Lin Xiaowan noticed Su Lin’s preoccupation.

He had checked his phone several times since coming back and discreetly put it away each time. Plus, having received a call from Li Ziyu just before returning, as smart as she was, she had already guessed tonight’s unease related to that.

Su Lin helplessly patted her cheek, “How are you so clever to notice I’m waiting for a call?”

“How many times have you checked your phone already? Are you waiting for a call from some beautiful woman?” Lin Xiaowan huffed, her complaint making her look even more adorable at that moment.

Xia Shiyu laughed, “I think Xiaowan is hinting that you should spend the evening with her. But Xiaowan, you shouldn’t be so selfish, Su Lin has been with you all day today!”

“How is that being selfish?” Before Lin Xiaowan could finish her sentence, Su Lin’s phone began to ring urgently.

He signaled for both women to be quiet, a smile spreading across his face as he saw “Bai Qikun” displayed on the screen. Upon answering, Bai Qikun’s words were almost exactly what Su Lin was thinking.

“Wang Yannian and Zhao Changlin have left the villa, heading your way.”

“You don’t have to worry about Jiang Ruoxi, I’ve already sent people there. Xiao Feiyu’s men won’t be able to take her away.”

Su Lin nodded in satisfaction, “Understood.”

Bai Qikun continued, “Are you sure you don’t need me to send a few people over? Zhao Changlin is one thing, but Wang Yannian is also at the level of a Human Immortal. Are you sure you can handle it alone?”

Lin Xiaowan and Xia Shiyu watched him nervously. The bits of conversation they caught over the phone made the situation seem grave.

“Whose call was that?” Lin Xiaowan pinched Su Lin, “You’re still all smiles; who was it, and what’s happening with Sister Ruoxi?”

Su Lin yelped playfully, pretending to be in pain. He then pinched Lin Xiaowan’s cheek, “What’s there to worry about? Don’t you trust me? It certainly wasn’t some young girl’s call, rest assured.”

This wasn’t about whether it was a young girl’s call or not! Lin Xiaowan was getting a bit annoyed, and Xia Shiyu quickly held her back, shaking her head as a gesture.

“Are you going out tonight?”

“Xia Shiyu, you’re really smart.” He pulled both women closer, kissing each on the forehead. “I can’t stay with you tonight, I have to go out.”

He didn’t hide what he was doing; he openly told them that Zhao Changlin and Wang Yannian were coming to see him that night. Both men were well-known—one as one of the Twin Heroes of the Capital, and the other was a Ghost Doctor, both at the level of Human Immortals. ꞦÃɴÓВЁꞨ

“What are they coming to do?” Lin Xiaowan’s eyes widened, “If it’s to fight, you absolutely must not go!”

Two Human Immortals, how could Su Lin handle them both alone?

Xia Shiyu also felt it was a bit reckless , “Are you sure it’s those two? Isn’t that too dangerous?”

Su Lin was not concerned at all. He knew his own limits. It was just that today he wouldn’t be able to accompany either of them. “Just wait for me inside the house. No matter what happens outside, don’t worry, I won’t be harmed.”

With that, he prepared to leave. The two women behind him were full of cautions and careful wishes. “Understood.”

Su Lin stepped out of the villa, leaping lightly to the roof. The high vantage point was indeed a principle of strategy; from here, he could oversee the entire vicinity of the villa. Su Lin found a spot that allowed him to see all directions of the villa and sat down to wait quietly for Wang Yannian and the others to arrive.
