After a few more minutes on the villa rooftop, Su Lin still had not seen Wang Yannian and Zhao Changlin make a move. Although they had been there for quite a while, Su Lin was certain that both had noticed his presence. So why the delay in taking action?

Su Lin waited a bit longer but soon ran out of patience. He surveyed the surroundings; besides Zhao and Wang, there were no other warriors nearby. With a slight squint and a disdainful smile, Su Lin decided not to hold back any longer.

Seizing the opportunity, Su Lin launched into action. He dashed down from the villa’s roof directly towards Zhao Changlin and Wang Yannian.

“Not good!” Wang Yannian had never planned to physically confront Su Lin. Now, with Su Lin attacking suddenly, he felt as though facing a formidable enemy, realizing that Su Lin’s capabilities far exceeded what the two of them as Human Immortals could handle.

“What do we do?” Zhao Changlin’s forehead broke out in cold sweat. It only took seconds for Su Lin to descend from the roof, leaving no time for Wang Yannian to think of a strategy. Zhao instinctively stepped back several paces as Su Lin landed.

“Su Lin! Hold on, don’t attack!” Wang Yannian shouted. This plea, however, only made Su Lin chuckle.

Dusting off his hands, he retorted, “Elder Wang, what are you talking about? You and the Twin Heroes of the Capital have been standing near my villa, occasionally testing me with your presence. Isn’t that a blatant provocation?”

Given it was a challenge, fighting back was only natural. He calmly faced them, ready to strike again.

“Wait!” Wang Yannian extended his hand, ready to fight but also signaling that they had not come for a battle. After exchanging a glance with Zhao Changlin, he explained, “Our visit today is upon someone else’s request, not our own intent. Fighting is not our objective.”

“Just stay inside the villa tonight, and we will act as if nothing has happened. I think we haven’t reached a point where violence is necessary, have we?” Wang Yannian swallowed hard, hoping Su Lin would be reasonable. He did not truly want to engage in combat, knowing they had little chance of winning.

However, Su Lin’s response was a broader smile. “Oh?” He sized up his opponents and scoffed, “And what if I don’t, Elder Wang?”

Why should he agree to their terms? He wasn’t necessarily outmatched. Facing two Human Immortals did not intimidate him. Su Lin cracked his knuckles and advanced a few more steps.

Wang Yannian grew more anxious, his voice inadvertently rising, “Su Lin, we can really talk this out. There’s no need for violence!”

“That’s right, Su Lin, you should consider this carefully,” Zhao Changlin chimed in, his brows deeply furrowed. “If you insist on leaving the villa to rescue Jiang Ruoxi, then we will definitely take action.”

“We both are at the level of Human Immortals, and though you stand out among the younger generation, do not underestimate a combined force of myself and Wang Yannian.”

Hearing this, Wang Yannian almost despaired. He had just spent a long time emphasizing to Zhao that Su Lin was not someone who could be judged by conventional standards.

Su Lin was a monster who could match a Human Immortal while only being at the peak of Grandmaster! Who knows how far his strength had developed now that he was a Human Immortal!

Su Lin merely smiled faintly at Zhao Changlin’s words… What a coincidence. He had been worrying about not having a clear measure of his own strength since advancing to Human Immortal. These two were precisely the challenge he needed to test his abilities.

“The elders are quite right; I indeed should not underestimate you both. Therefore, I think a sparring match is in order, to truly gauge my own level,” Su Lin said nonchalantly, slowly closing his eyes. It seemed carefree, but he was already gathering his internal energy, his fists clenched tight.

When he opened his eyes again, his body had turned golden, resembling an impregnable fortress. His gaze was even more resolute than the metallic luster on his body, and a subtle golden glow emphasized the extraordinary nature of his technique.

“Elders, my apologies.” Su Lin advanced towards Wang Yannian and Zhao Changlin, a formidable aura enveloping them. The battle was inevitable now!

Zhao Changlin and Wang Yannian exchanged glances and moved forward to meet the challenge. At this point, there was no choice but to confront Su Lin head-on.

Su Lin, thrilled by such a scenario, relished the prospect of a hearty battle with opponents at the level of Human Immortals. It was an opportunity to ascertain his own capabilities, the very reason he had been waiting there.

He hoped not only that he wouldn’t hold back but also that Wang Yannian and Zhao Changlin wouldn’t either.

“Let’s have a good fight!” The clash was immediate, with sparks flying. Shadows shifted rapidly, with flashes of golden light occasionally visible.
