Supreme Heir Son-in-law
Chapter 832: The Last Snowflake
CHAPTER 832: CHAPTER 832: THE LAST SNOWFLAKE
The mother of the Wei Family felt somewhat unstable mentally, but it didn’t show on the surface, as if everything would really proceed as she imagined. Wei Ji, who was initially a bit flustered, gradually calmed down under the mother’s demeanor, and his mindset was almost adjusted.
"I believe Mom and Dad will definitely have a way. We will get through this difficult time smoothly. Let those people shout if they want to. Anyway, they’re destined to be insignificant bugs their whole life, only capable of making sarcastic remarks." Wei Ji, having regained his confidence, didn’t take the online comments to heart, considering them merely as jealousy. He even said this openly when someone came to ask about the situation.
While Wei’s mother was worried about the trending search issue, and Wei Lai was using his network to secure his position, neither paid attention to Wei Ji, the troublemaking child. They had no idea that in just this short period, Wei Ji had managed to say such things, which were then posted online, even tagging his social media account.
The incident of hitting someone wasn’t resolved yet, and Wei Ji’s bizarre statements quickly went viral, directly climbing the top ten trending searches. The Wei Family occupied the top five spots thanks to their years of effort, and no one online objected to such an arrangement. After all, these trending searches weren’t paid for; they had clawed their way up themselves.
Suddenly, the entire internet was gossiping about the Wei Family. Many skilled netizens had spontaneously started investigating the Wei Family’s network and their actions over the years. Those lacking the skill to dig into information rushed to Wei Ji’s social media accounts, fiercely abusive, with some even writing lengthy essays and sending them to Wei Ji’s private messages for added satisfaction.
In just an hour, while Wei Lai and Wei’s mother’s issues weren’t resolved, Wei Ji’s inbox exploded.
Hearing the continual notifications from his phone, Wei Ji opened it curiously. Seeing the 99+ symbol on his messages, he raised an eyebrow, not understanding what had happened.
He casually clicked on one of the private messages, only to find it full of insults, crude and harsh language. Wei Ji had never encountered such words, and in his rage, he smashed the cup in front of him.
The sudden noise startled Wei’s mother and Wei Lai, both turning around to see their son looking furious and irate.
"What’s wrong? Who upset you? Why are you so angry?" Wei’s mother asked, puzzled by Wei Ji’s expression.
It was fine when no one asked, but as soon as someone showed concern, Wei Ji felt incredibly wronged, "Mom, look at what they’re saying about me online! They even dare to send me messages to insult me. A bunch of poor idiots ranting on my Weibo, it’s really driving me crazy."
Wei Ji ran to his mother’s side, holding his phone in front of her to show how people online were insulting him.
"Look at what they’re saying. How dare they insult me like this? Who do they think they are? They should look in the mirror and see what a mess they are, yet they have the nerve to talk about me. It’s driving me insane." Wei Ji was venting angrily, only to be slapped by his mother.
Wei Ji was in complete disbelief, not daring to believe that his mother could hit him.
From young to old, no matter what trouble he got into, his mother had always been the one to forgive him. But now, without warning and for no reason, she hit him.
"Mom, what are you doing? Are you crazy? Why did you hit me? You’ve never hit me since I was a child, so why now?" Wei Ji shouted, covering his face and looking at his mother.
Wei Lai was also startled by his mother’s actions. He had never seen his mother use physical force nor seen such an expression on her face. Everything seemed too unfamiliar.
"What’s wrong with you? Why did you hit the child?" Wei Lai walked to his mother’s side, asking in confusion.
"Why? Do you have the nerve to ask why? Do you know how big a mess you’ve caused this time? Do you know the situation at home now? Not only do you not help the family, but you also make things worse. Why? Tell me why?" Wei’s mother raised her hand to hit again but stopped upon seeing her son’s face.
"What did I do? Tell me what I did? I’ve been home these days, haven’t done anything. What did I do to annoy you?" Wei Ji said defiantly.
"Exactly, the kid has been home recently, under our watch, with no time to cause trouble." Wei Lai chimed in supportively.
"Don’t underestimate him. He’s quite capable. Being at home doesn’t stop him from causing trouble. You don’t know why? You’re asking me why I hit him? Look at Weibo, see what our good son posted, see how he used his hands to push our whole family into the pit!" Wei’s mother’s expression, both crying and laughing, was frightening to behold.
"Weibo? What Weibo?" Wei Lai asked curiously, opening his own Weibo as he spoke. He found Wei Ji’s Weibo in his following list and saw the post he had just made. Wei Lai felt his vision darken, his feet standing on virtual cotton, unable to stand steady, he collapsed to the ground, his entire body aching from the fall.
But now he couldn’t care about his injuries. All he could think was that he was done for, genuinely done for this time. Previous issues could barely be shrugged off, but his son’s remarks were the last straw that broke the camel’s back, crucifying him with no escape.
Seeing his mother manically frantic and his father collapsing, witnessing both their reactions, it dawned belatedly on Wei Ji that he might have caused trouble.
"What about the stuff I just posted? Can’t it be posted? I, I didn’t know. We had freedom of speech abroad, and I was used to posting freely. I didn’t know I couldn’t post these things. Or I’ll delete it, I’ll delete it right away."
Panicking, Wei Ji retrieved his phone from his mother and hurriedly deleted his comments on Weibo.
But as the saying goes, the internet never forgets. Even though he deleted it, many had seen it, taken screenshots, and started spreading it widely online.
The previous trending topic wasn’t even removed yet, and now a new one had emerged, with the frenzy only growing. The Wei Family was once again thrust into the spotlight.
"Why was I so foolish to give birth to such a troublemaker? Why didn’t I just smother you at birth? If you were dead, our family wouldn’t be facing so many issues." Wei Lai slowly got up from the ground, his gaze at Wei Ji filled not with past affection, but pure hatred.
