Supreme Heir Son-in-law
Chapter 850 - 450: Repelled
CHAPTER 850: CHAPTER 450: REPELLED
"Stay away from me, I don’t like people getting this close to me." The boss’s brother showed a look of disdain on his face, extending his hands to keep a distance between himself and Xu Ke, refusing his approach.
Xu Ke raised one eyebrow high. He could see the unease in the younger brother, especially in his posture and subtle changes in expression after seeing Xu Ke. Xu Ke was well aware that the person sitting opposite him was already afraid of him, though he didn’t quite understand what he was afraid of. Xu Ke thought to himself that the scene wasn’t particularly bloody or violent when he hit people, so he couldn’t figure out what the fear was about.
Xu Ke honestly couldn’t make sense of this matter, but whether he could or not didn’t matter much to him.
"Didn’t you hear me when I told you not to come near me? If you get closer, I won’t be polite with you. Did you hear that? I won’t be polite. I’m really good at fighting. If I get serious, all the people here combined won’t be a match for me." The boss’s brother said loudly as Xu Ke approached with a malicious intent, but anyone could hear the tension in his words.
"Oh, really? I’m quite interested to find out." Xu Ke said flatly, without any emotional fluctuation.
"You don’t believe me, do you? You think I’m lying to you?" The boss’s brother asked as he saw Xu Ke didn’t intend to stop and kept moving towards him. His legs felt weak and couldn’t seem to regain strength, but for him to just give in was unthinkable.
The boss’s brother braced his neck, trying to hold his momentum. Xu Ke had no idea where this person got the confidence, thinking he could still bluff.
Xu Ke looked at the other’s demeanor and couldn’t help but laugh.
"What are you laughing at?" The boss’s brother, now in a state of high alert, reacted like a startled animal at any sound, bristling instantly.
"I’m laughing at how you look right now. Don’t you know your aura has already dissipated? You look utterly ridiculous." As if he felt the previous tension wasn’t enough, Xu Ke laughed right in the man’s face, his laughter causing a tingling sensation to run down everyone’s spine. But this electricity didn’t signify excitement—it was fear.
The boss’s brother’s face alternated between red and white at Xu Ke’s words. He opened his mouth but couldn’t retort. For a fleeting moment, he wanted to ignore others’ perspectives and beg Xu Ke for mercy, but he restrained himself.
The boss’s brother thrashed around in his chair a bit, but his butt never left the seat.
Watching Xu Ke get closer and the danger in his eyes intensifying, the boss’s brother licked his lips, unable to hold back his fear any longer and began to plead for mercy. However, his way of begging was quite distinctive compared to others.
Even though it was Xu Ke who forced him to this point, he didn’t plead for mercy with Xu Ke but instead turned to his brother, who had already been beaten black and blue.
"Brother, no matter what, I’m your little brother. Whatever happens between us is a family affair. It’s not good to let an outsider intervene, is it? Besides, I’m your brother. Mom never laid a hand on me, and now you’re just going to stand by and watch as someone else beats me?" The boss’s brother said, looking at the boss.
"I thought you were prepared for this when you came—ready to beat me and be beaten." The boss climbed up from the ground, with a swollen face, saying it expressionlessly.
Upon hearing this, the boss’s brother’s expression became horribly unsightly, and the corners of his mouth twitched. Under Xu Ke’s gaze, he spoke with a dry voice, "Brother, what are you saying? We are family, your words create distance. Besides, in a family, there are no grudges that last overnight. What happened earlier was a misunderstanding on my part, just a moment of confusion. There’s no need to make things ugly."
"You’re the one who made it ugly, not me." The boss shook his head, standing resolutely behind Xu Ke.
Seeing this reaction from the boss, the already pale face of the boss’s brother turned a paler shade, but not in a healthy way—more of an ashen white.
The boss’s brother’s pride wouldn’t allow him to beg Xu Ke for mercy, but at times, pride isn’t everything. At least after a mental struggle, the boss’s brother felt that maybe pride wasn’t that important.
"Wait, wait, wait, stop coming forward. I’m begging you, alright? I’m scared when you come closer. I admit what I did was wrong earlier. I made a mistake. I admit my mistake, and you weren’t even hit, were you? Let’s just forget this happened, okay? After all, you weren’t wronged; you beat up others and didn’t get beaten, so don’t come over and hit me, okay?" The boss’s brother spoke as if he were a pitiful little creature encountering a bully on the street.
Some who didn’t know the whole story might think it was Xu Ke making trouble.
"Me not being beaten is my own skill, nothing to do with you." Xu Ke wagged a finger with a shake.
"You neither stopped them nor made them go easy, so I can’t agree with what you just said." Xu Ke chuckled, watching the other’s face turn even uglier after his words.
"What do you want, then? What are you going to do to me?" The boss’s brother nervously swallowed, looking at Xu Ke with trepidation.
"How can you say it’s what I want? Isn’t it about what you wanted? You came with people to start trouble; it’s like we are the ones bullying you. Whatever you wanted to do to us, we do to you—isn’t that fair?" Xu Ke raised his eyebrow, looking at the other.
Xu Ke thought his suggestion was reasonable, but the boss’s brother heard it differently.
If what he did to the boss were done to him, there’s no way he’d agree. He’d never suffered any losses as someone’s pampered child. Leaving aside what he intended to do to the boss, just considering what he already did was unacceptable to him.
Moreover, judging by Xu Ke’s tone, it seemed like he wanted to do everything that was intended and already done to the boss, and enact it all over him.
