Chapter 341: You’re too trusting

The city of the “Forgotten Fog” became the fourth city that Idan and Arabel saw outside their world.

This city was very different from the three Limbo cities in its atmosphere and inhabitants.

All the creatures that inhabited it possessed the element of darkness and had unusual bodies. In the entire journey that Idan and Arabel had traveled, following Essora, they had only twice noticed the presence of creatures that looked like humans.

“By the way, it suits you,” Arabel said, speaking to Idan through a mental link. Despite the uncertainty of their situation, Idan could clearly hear the amusement in her voice.

“Shh,” he just clicked his tongue in displeasure, touching the collar that hung around his neck.

“If by some miracle we get into the world of Light, I will definitely put a collar around your neck,” Idan said.

“Heh, you can’t wait, — Arabel laughed.

Seeing Arabel’s smile, Idan finally felt relieved. Recently, when he learned the information about the collar revealed by the “Eye of Identification” ability, he had a fresh idea. He immediately shared it with Arabel, and as he expected, she didn’t like it. It took some time to convince her and get her to accept his offer. Arabel hadn’t spoken to him since, always frowning.

From time to time, their group of three creatures would attract curious glances. However, as soon as people noticed Arabel’s long black hair, they immediately averted their eyes and hurried to hide.

This behavior of the locals made Idan and Arabel think about it and re-evaluate the creature of darkness with whom Arabel had established a connection.

Following Essora, Idan and Arabel soon found themselves in the central area of the city, which was strikingly different from the outside. The atmosphere became more pleasing to the eye, and each building looked grander than the previous one.

Soon, they found themselves in front of the massive gates of a huge gloomy mansion.

“This way,” said Essora, inviting them inside. She easily opened the doors and entered first, followed by Arabel, and Idan brought up the rear. He had already settled into the role of a simple slave and Arabel’s toy, hiding his true identity.

“Coco, — Idan called, addressing the fox, who was sitting on his shoulder, carefully examining the surroundings.

When she heard her name, she looked at Idan.

“It’s time,” he said, and Coco nodded her small head, jumped off his shoulder unnoticed, and sped off.

As expected, no one could detect the little fox’s presence without her desire. She was the perfect scout, and Idan and Arabel couldn’t miss the opportunity to take advantage of her unique abilities in this difficult situation.

Idan and Arabel, led by Essora, passed through the main entrance of the mansion and found themselves in a spacious hall resembling a smaller version of the throne room. At the end of the hall, a little higher, there was a small throne on which sat a beautiful woman with long black hair.

Idan and Arabel immediately recognized this woman as Erza Twilight, a Diamond—ranked being. Besides her, there were about a dozen women with short black hair in the hall, dressed in the same clothes as Essora. They stood straight, lined up on either side of the throne.

Idan and Arabel swallowed hard as they looked at these women. All of them, without exception, like Essora, were Platinum-ranked creatures.

“Dan, it’s not just these ten women in this room. There are others in the dark corners of the hall,” Arabel transmitted through a mental link, further increasing Idan’s anxiety.

“Mistress, I have brought them,” Essora said with a bow, approaching the throne on which Erza was sitting.

“Good job, Essora. I will deduct from your service life what I promised,” Erza praised with a smile. Hearing these words, a spark flashed for a moment in Essora’s eyes, which had not expressed any emotions before, but soon disappeared.

The other women who were watching Essora also had a sparkle in their eyes at the mention of Erza’s words. An attentive person might have noticed envy in them.

Idan and Arabel watched Erza with bated breath. Finally, she finished with Essora and turned her gaze to them. A wide smile appeared on her face, completely different from the one she had before. Seeing that smile, Idan and Arabel realized that their assumptions were correct.

“You know, I’ve already lost hope that you would come after you haven’t been here for seven days,” Erza said, still smiling. “But who would have thought that you have your own way to enter this world, and even immediately find yourself inside the city.”

“How did you know about our arrival?” Arabel asked to confirm her suspicions.

“Don’t be silly, girl, you should have guessed anyway,” Erza replied, still smiling. Then she added: “You shouldn’t have taken something that didn’t belong to you.”

“System was right. She has the ability to keep an eye on this creature,” Arabel thought. And immediately she felt an unusual pressure and suggestion that began to affect her.

“What?” she blurted out, and her body trembled, trying to resist this influence.

“Heh, — Erza laughed. Then her eyes glittered, and Arabel, unable to resist the pressure, fell to her knees.

“What are you doing?!” exclaimed Idan, trying to intervene. But as soon as he took a step, Erza snapped her finger, and his body froze in place, and his eyes widened in disbelief.

“Ahahahaha,” Erza began to laugh hysterically, looking at how the couple fell into her trap.

“You’re too trusting,” she said. “The ploy to leave that guy seems to have misled you.”

Then, rising from her throne, she slowly approached Arabel, under the shocked gazes of the couple. Looking down into her eyes, she said:

“The moment you connected with this creature; you were already mine.”

Then, after studying Arabel closely, she laughed, but this time her laughter was more sinister.

“Who would have thought that you were still clean! This is a real surprise!” she said, glancing at Idan, her eyes glittering, and she added contemptuously: “Which is to be expected from a servant of the light.”

She returned her gaze to Arabel.:

“I will find a wonderful use for your purity. The heir of the Dark Beast Territory is due to arrive in a few days, and you will be a great gift for him.”

Upon hearing these words, Arabel, although she was shocked and felt despair, had already cursed Erza and added her to the list of those she would definitely kill and torture.

“Sleep,” Erza said, and Arabel went limp like a puppet, and the light in her eyes went out.

“As for you, you will become an excellent item in the upcoming auction and join your compatriots,” Erza said with disdain.

“But first of all…” with these words, Erza approached Idan and, grabbing his face, forcefully tore off the Ghost Mask.

“Interesting thing,” she said, looking at the Mask in her hands, and then looked at Idan. “You have a pretty face.”

Erza, satisfied with Idan’s appearance, nodded.

“Take him to the trading house and tell him that he is my lot at the upcoming auction,” she ordered. Hearing her words, two women approached Idan, grabbed him and dragged him away from the hall.

Until the very end, Idan did not take his eyes off Arabel, and Erza could not help but enjoy this sight.

As soon as Idan was led out of the mansion and dragged to the trading house, a smile appeared on his face, and his eyes flashed dangerously.
