Supreme Taming Authority
Chapter 34: Supreme Taming!
CHAPTER 34: SUPREME TAMING!
Immediately, Xian Tiandi activated his Chaos Beast Spirit, feeling its power resonate deep within his soul.
The formless spirit that contained all possibilities, all elements, all concepts—this was the foundation of his Taming Dao.
His spiritual sense extended outward, not toward the cultists themselves but toward the formation beneath their feet.
He could perceive the connections—threads of energy flowing from the trapped civilians, through the formation array, into the three cultists, and finally to the Crimson Soul Orb.
These connections were abstract. They weren’t physical objects. They were conceptual links created by the formation’s design.
But if they existed, they could be tamed.
Xian Tiandi’s eyes glowed faintly with golden light as he activated the Supreme Taming Dao Scripture’s core technique.
"Supreme Taming," he whispered.
His Chaos Qi surged outward in a wave that was invisible to normal perception. It wasn’t an attack—it was an assertion of dominance, a declaration of ownership over the conceptual space around him.
The technique targeted the connections between the three cultists and the formation. For a brief moment—just a few seconds—Xian Tiandi attempted to make those connections recognize him as their master instead of the cultists.
He didn’t try to tame the cultists themselves. That would be too difficult; living beings had their own wills and resistance. He didn’t try to tame the formation directly either. That structure was too complex and powerful.
Instead, he tamed the relationship between the two. The flow of energy. The connection itself.
It was like redirecting a river. He didn’t need to control the water or the riverbed—he just needed to change the path the water followed.
The effect was immediate and dramatic.
The blood dragon that was charging toward Xian Tiandi suddenly dissolved mid-flight. The energy that had formed it flowed away from the leader cultist and toward Xian Tiandi instead.
The blood chains that were trying to bind him reversed direction, wrapping around the second cultist who had created them.
The blood mist that should have poisoned Xian Tiandi swirled around him harmlessly before condensing into a protective barrier.
All three cultists froze in shock.
"What?!" the leader’s voice carried genuine alarm. "What did you do?! This is impossible!"
Xian Tiandi didn’t waste words. The Supreme Taming technique wouldn’t last long—maybe ten seconds at most. His Qi reserves were draining rapidly to maintain it. He needed to act decisively.
He moved forward with explosive speed, channeling both Martial Force and Chaos Qi through his body. The formation’s energy that now flowed to him provided an additional boost, temporarily enhancing his strength far beyond his cultivation level.
This will cause him great pain and maybe injury.
But he will handle that later.
*Swish!*
He reached the second cultist first—the one entangled in his own blood chains.
A devastating palm strike infused with the redirected formation energy hit the cultist’s chest.
*Bang!*
The bone mask shattered. Blood sprayed from the man’s mouth as he flew backward, crashing into a building wall with enough force to crack the stone.
The third cultist tried to retreat, horror evident in his body language even through the disguise. "What kind of monster are you?!"
Xian Tiandi didn’t answer. He appeared beside the retreating cultist using the Phantom Moon Steps. Another strike, this one targeting the cultist’s dantian directly. The man screamed as his cultivation was damaged.
The leader, seeing his companions defeated so quickly, made a decision. Instead of continuing to fight, he raised both hands and performed a complex hand seal.
"Blood Burst Secret Technique!" he shouted.
This was one of the forbidden methods that Elder Feng had warned about. Secret techniques were extremely rare abilities that could temporarily boost a cultivator’s combat power dramatically, but they usually came with severe costs or drawbacks.
The leader’s aura exploded outward, doubling in intensity. His cultivation temporarily surged from early Golden Core to mid-Golden Core level. This was the power of a secret technique—a desperate trump card.
But the technique also broke his connection to the formation. The Dominion Taming effect ended as the link was severed.
Xian Tiandi’s enhancement disappeared. He suddenly felt the weight of exhaustion hit him. The Supreme Taming technique had drained more than half his Qi reserves. He had perhaps two or three more major techniques left before his energy ran out.
The empowered leader charged forward, his speed now matching Xian Tiandi’s. A blood-red sword materialized in his hand, and he swung it with tremendous force.
Xian Tiandi had to use another trump card. He reached into his storage ring and pulled out the Void Step Talisman—the gift from the Zhou Clan.
He crushed the talisman just as the sword was about to hit him.
Space twisted around Xian Tiandi. For a moment, he existed in a different layer of reality. The sword passed through the space where he stood without touching him. Then he reappeared ten meters away, directly beside the formation’s altar.
The leader’s eyes widened behind his broken mask. "A spatial talisman?!"
Xian Tiandi didn’t hesitate. He raised his hand and struck one of the formation’s thirteen nodes—the key points that maintained the array’s structure. His palm, infused with the last of his concentrated Chaos Qi, hit the node with precision born from thousands of years of formation knowledge.
The node shattered.
The entire formation shuddered. The red glow flickered and dimmed. The energy flow was disrupted, and the ritual could no longer continue. The trapped civilians gasped as the draining effect stopped.
Somewhere far above the city, in a hidden location, someone was observing the ritual through spiritual connection. When the formation broke, this hidden observer—the true cult leader—immediately sensed the failure.
"Retreat!" a commanding voice echoed through the minds of all the cultists via some telepathic technique. "This city is compromised! Take the orb and withdraw!"
The leader cultist, his secret technique already fading and leaving him weakened, grabbed the Crimson Soul Orb from the altar. He didn’t even attempt to continue fighting Xian Tiandi. He simply used a movement technique to flee at maximum speed.
The other two injured cultists also retreated, limping away as fast as they could manage.
