CHAPTER 101: CHAPTER 101: FORCING HER TO CONFESS HER CRIMES

Ethan couldn’t stand Isabelle’s actions any longer.

But with just one word from Isabelle, he ran like a dog.

At two in the morning, when he arrived at the apartment he bought for Isabelle, he didn’t even have time to catch his breath before Isabelle came up to him, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him.

This action startled Ethan.

He still rationally pushed her away, his face full of astonishment, "Isabelle, do you know what you’re doing?"

Isabelle was completely blinded by jealousy.

No longer willing to keep herself pure for Adrian Grant, she clung to Ethan out of revenge.

"Brother, I know you like me, and tonight I’m giving myself to you, but could you promise to help me with something?"

She had no need to pretend in front of this man anymore.

Adrian Grant was heartless to her, so she would return the favor a hundred times over.

After all, she had plenty of escape plans.

"What are you saying?"

Ethan didn’t deny that his feelings for her were unrequited, and at times, she drove him nearly mad.

But under the pressure from his parents, he didn’t dare express his feelings for Isabelle.

In the end, he could only interact with her as an older brother.

Isabelle hooked her arms around his neck, standing on tiptoe to get closer to his handsome face, her eyes flirtatious.

"I want to be your woman, as long as you send someone to get rid of Raina Lowell. I’ll listen to everything you say, have your children, marry you, all right?"

She knew that during this time, Adrian Grant had been sending people to investigate her.

She couldn’t reveal any traces, and she definitely couldn’t personally take steps against Raina Lowell.

So she had to drag Ethan into the mess.

This man would surely be at her disposal.

After all, they had over twenty years of feelings.

"Isabelle, you..."

Ethan was shocked; he always saw her as a well-educated, gentle, kind, and helpful sister.

When did she become so frightening?

For the sake of someone like Raina Lowell, she was actually throwing herself at him.

Ethan tried hard to maintain his composure, trying to push her away.

But Isabelle wouldn’t relent, and kissed his lips again.

No matter how hard he tried to pull her away, in the end, driven by desire, he couldn’t help but succumb to her.

Lowell Manor.

When Raina Lowell woke up, she didn’t expect Adrian Grant to be still sitting properly by the bedside, watching over her.

He hadn’t gotten into bed, nor had he done anything inappropriate to her.

His gentlemanly behavior almost made him seem like the elegant, easygoing, mature, and stable good man he once was.

Raina Lowell sneered.

No matter how well he treated her now, she would never forget how, when she begged him for help, he coldly pushed her away.

A man who could watch her daughter die without saving her could never gain her affection again in this lifetime.

Thinking of how Evelyn still needed her.

Raina Lowell got out of bed to wash up; today she needed to be with her son.

When Adrian Grant woke up and saw her leaving, he quickly got up and followed her.

"Raina, where are you going?"

Seeing her walk into the bathroom, he didn’t intervene but waited outside the door.

Madam Cole came upstairs to report, "Sir, Miss Isabelle is here again."

Remembering Isabelle’s temperament last night, Adrian suddenly felt a headache.

He didn’t want to leave Raina unattended, fearing she might do something foolish, so he reminded Madam Cole:

"Keep an eye on Raina and take good care of her, I’m going downstairs."

Madam Cole nodded.

When Adrian went downstairs, he found Isabelle not as unreasonable as the night before; instead, she was sitting quietly on the couch in the living room, elegantly dressed, with a gentle expression, giving off a very pleasant vibe.

Adrian restrained his dissatisfaction and went over to ask her:

"Why are you here?"

Isabelle stood up and approached him, appearing poised, "Adrian, I’m here to apologize. I was too impulsive last night. Don’t take it to heart."

"I can also understand Raina’s current situation. Since you consider her family, I will also treat her as family and take care of her."

She wanted to try again.

To see if removing Raina Lowell would lead Adrian to marry her and keep her in his heart.

If this man still didn’t love her by then, she would settle for Ethan.

After all, she was already with Ethan, and Ethan had promised to help her eliminate Raina Lowell.

Adrian Grant noticed Isabelle Everett’s change in attitude, so naturally, he was much kinder to her.

"It’s good that you understand. Once Raina is feeling better, I’ll make it up to you."

Thinking that Raina disliked Isabelle, he added:

"But it’d be best if you don’t come by anymore. Raina’s not doing well lately, and I’m worried she might hurt you again."

Which was a polite way of telling her to leave and not to disturb Raina.

Isabelle Everett wasn’t about to be dictated by him, so she feigned magnanimity.

"Raina probably misunderstood me before, which is why she acted that way towards me. I’ve already forgiven her, and I trust she won’t do it again."

"Adrian, you must be busy with work. Why don’t you go ahead; I can stay with Raina on your behalf."

Having learned from experience, Adrian Grant couldn’t allow the two of them to be alone together again.

Just as he was about to refuse, Raina Lowell came down the stairs.

Isabelle Everett pretended to meet her with sympathy, "Raina, are you okay? I just heard about your daughter’s passing. My condolences."

Raina Lowell stood on the stairs, looking down at Isabelle Everett.

Seeing the smug expression on Isabelle Everett’s face, she cast an icy gaze before walking down the stairs and putting on an even falser façade than Isabelle.

"I just learned about your engagement to Adrian too. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have kept Adrian with me last night."

Isabelle Everett’s face shifted slightly, though she maintained a faint smile.

"It’s okay. Adrian sees you as family, so I do too. I don’t mind."

After all, she had gone to see Ethan Everett the previous night.

The way Adrian treated her, she’d return in kind.

She wouldn’t be foolish enough to remain chaste for a man like him.

Raina Lowell approached Adrian Grant calmly and told him:

"I’m feeling much better now. I won’t be like before. You can go ahead with your work, Isabelle can stay with me."

Adrian Grant looked at the two women beside him,

It was the first time he’d seen them getting along so well.

He was still uneasy and turned to Isabelle Everett, "You should head back."

Isabelle Everett didn’t want to leave and purposefully linked her arm with Raina Lowell’s.

"Raina, you probably need some company right now, right? We won’t disrupt Adrian’s work. Is it okay if I stay with you?"

Raina Lowell smiled and played along, "Sure, with you here, I won’t feel lonely."

She didn’t pay attention to Adrian Grant and turned towards the dining room.

Adrian Grant still felt something was off with the two of them but couldn’t quite put his finger on it.

Eventually, he acceded to their wishes and before leaving, he gave Madam Cole a few instructions.

As soon as Adrian Grant left, Isabelle Everett dropped her façade, and across the dining table, she looked at Raina Lowell with a cold sneer.

"You think getting him into your bed bothers me?"

The previous night with Ethan Everett had gone well enough too.

Once she dealt with Raina Lowell, she planned to call off the wedding to Adrian Grant in a retaliatory move, just before he could marry her.

Adrian Grant, with his fickle heart and propensity for infidelity, was not essential to her.

Raina Lowell feigned ignorance, "I didn’t know about your engagement. Had I known, I would never have let him touch me."

"Stop pretending, Raina Lowell. Hasn’t your daughter’s death taught you anything?"

Isabelle Everett’s demeanor completely altered, rising with smug satisfaction as she leaned closer, lowering her voice:

"You wanted to join your daughter, didn’t you? I’m not stopping you anymore, go ahead."

Raina Lowell glared back with cold eyes, suppressing the anger within, her fists clenched tight.

"If you want Adrian Grant, you can have him. But why did you have to hurt my daughter and kill my grandpa?"

She had a recording pen hidden on her, hoping to force Isabelle Everett to admit her crimes.

But Isabelle Everett wasn’t foolish. She sat back down with a laugh.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about. What do your daughter’s and Grandpa Grant’s deaths have to do with me?"

Raina Lowell gritted her teeth, shaking with rage as she sat there.

She struggled to maintain her composure.

"That’s right, you wouldn’t have any motive to harm them. After all, someone like you, just a tool arranged for a rich marriage, with Adrian not even interested, should have enough self-awareness not to harm me or my child to get him."

Isabelle Everett appeared to snap, and as if a barrier cracked, she shouted at Raina:

"You’re saying I’m not worthy of Adrian Grant? And yet you, an orphan leeching off The Grant Family, are?"

"But I became his wife once. If it weren’t for keeping me out of prison, Adrian Grant wouldn’t have divorced me and pretended to be engaged to you."

"See, even if I’ve had a child with someone else, if I want, he’s still on my side. Even if you’re engaged to him, he may not marry you."

"You..."

Isabelle Everett’s face twisted in fury, glaring at Raina Lowell with utmost hatred, lowering her voice as she issued a vicious threat:

"Don’t get too happy just yet. You might end up joining your daughter soon, that little brat. It’s pitiful she never knew who her father was."
