Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours!
Chapter 103: Have You Slept With Her?
CHAPTER 103: CHAPTER 103: HAVE YOU SLEPT WITH HER?
Raina Lowell hurriedly shook off the thoughts in her mind.
She couldn’t imagine that the man from that night four years ago could be Adrian Grant.
She must have been mistaken.
She definitely was mistaken.
"Raina, are you okay?"
Seeing her in a daze, Alaric Jennings quickly came over to ask.
Raina Lowell shook her head and glanced at her son lying beside her leg. Suddenly, she wanted to verify whether this child was actually Adrian Grant’s.
She raised her hand, gently touched her son’s head, and pulled out a few strands of his hair.
Evelyn felt the pain and wrinkled his little face to ask her:
"Mom, why did you pull my hair?"
Raina Lowell comforted him, "Sorry, I didn’t mean to."
She got up to the bathroom, neatly packed the hair, and decided to take Adrian Grant’s for a test as well, so she could have a clear answer.
Especially remembering her daughter always wanting a father before she died, and growing up these years without a father’s presence, made her feel increasingly guilty.
If she could really find their father for them, it would be giving them an explanation.
"Raina, are you really all right?"
From the doorway, Alaric Jennings’s concerned voice came again.
Raina Lowell adjusted herself, opened the door, and went out.
She told Alaric Jennings, "I’m okay, but I have to leave again. Can you look after Evelyn for me?"
Alaric Jennings agreed without hesitation, "No problem with Evelyn staying with me, but I worry about you. I fear that woman might harm you, and I fear Adrian Grant might hurt you again."
Raina risked herself to find evidence of Isabelle Everett kidnapping Aurora.
He truly feared that she would get hurt again if the evidence wasn’t found.
He simply couldn’t afford to lose her again.
"I’ll take care of myself, and if the other side really wants to harm me, isn’t it just what I want?"
Raina Lowell returned to her son, pulled him over, "Evelyn, can you be a good boy and stay with Uncle Jennings? Mom will come back when she’s done."
Evelyn nodded obediently, "But mom, don’t make me wait too long. I will worry if I can’t see you."
"Okay, I’ll call you whenever I can and come over when I’m free."
She bent down and kissed her son.
As she was about to leave, Alaric Jennings picked up Evelyn to send her off, "I don’t feel comfortable letting you go alone. I’ll drop you off and then bring Evelyn back."
Raina Lowell didn’t refuse.
Hospital.
Adrian Grant saw Isabelle Everett with her face and head wrapped in white bandages.
She looked quite severe.
Before he could approach, Isabelle Everett tearfully said to him:
"Adrian, I don’t know why Raina suddenly went crazy and splashed hot porridge on me. Elias Sheridan said I almost had my face ruined."
Adrian Grant felt Raina was too impulsive.
Why hurt people so easily?
But he didn’t blame Raina entirely; he stepped forward, stood by the bed, and asked sternly:
"Why do you insist on provoking Raina? You know she just lost her daughter and is emotionally unstable."
Isabelle Everett paused for a moment.
Unexpectedly, Adrian Grant was actually siding with Raina Lowell.
She gritted her teeth, wanting to retort, but Ethan Everett spoke for her:
"Adrian, what do you mean? That Raina Lowell is clearly crazy, recklessly injuring Isabelle abroad. Yet, you protect her and now speak for her."
"Do you really think we can’t send her to jail?"
He would definitely trouble Raina Lowell sooner or later.
He just needed Isabelle to plead with him a few more times.
Adrian Grant naturally knew it was wrong for Raina to hurt someone, but seeing Raina in that state, he couldn’t bear to criticize her further.
Looking at Isabelle Everett, he could only advise:
"Considering Raina lost her daughter, let it go. Besides, you insisted on staying with her at the time."
"This raises my suspicion that you deliberately stayed for some ulterior motive."
"Adrian Grant, don’t go too far."
Ethan Everett couldn’t listen anymore and retorted fiercely.
Adrian Grant completely disregarded him and continued staring at Isabelle Everett.
"I told you she isn’t in a good state and urged you to leave, yet you didn’t. You even said Raina’s child deserved to die. If I were the child’s father and heard my child spoken of like that, I wouldn’t let it slide."
The implication was clear.
If she didn’t fuss over it, he wouldn’t dwell on it.
If she insisted, it suggested impure motives, and digging further might blur right from wrong.
Isabelle Everett visibly showed signs of guilt.
If not for the white bandages covering her face, she would have already been exposed before the two men.
Silently, Isabelle Everett had no choice but to deny through tears:
"Adrian, I didn’t, I didn’t say anything like that about her child."
Adrian Grant remained expressionless, "There’s surveillance at home, plus recordings. Do you want me to present the recording to you?"
There was indeed surveillance at home but no recordings.
The talk of recordings was merely to intimidate her.
He just wanted to see if Isabelle Everett would behave honestly.
Sure enough, Isabelle Everett quieted down and changed her attitude.
"Adrian, I’m your fiancée now. I was hurt by Raina Lowell like this and haven’t insisted on doing anything to her. What’s your attitude? Is it all my fault?"
Adrian Grant didn’t argue with her, "How about this, wait until you’re healed and apologize to her, and don’t bother her anymore. Let’s move past this."
"Adrian Grant."
Ethan Everett stepped forward again, trying to seek justice for Isabelle Everett.
But as soon as he opened his mouth, Adrian Grant shot him a cold glance.
"I’ve resolved the matter. Swallow any dissatisfaction and take good care of your sister. I have things to attend to."
In his heart, he still couldn’t stop worrying about Raina, and he turned to leave.
Isabelle Everett didn’t hold him back.
She had witnessed Adrian Grant’s bias.
No matter how much she pretended, it wouldn’t earn his pity or concern.
Indeed, he only had love for Raina Lowell in his heart.
Isabelle Everett glared hatefully at Adrian Grant’s back, gritting her teeth:
"Brother, when will you kill that bitch Raina Lowell for me?"
Having exposed her true self in front of Ethan Everett, she chose not to pretend anymore.
Ethan Everett initially felt surprised by his beloved woman’s duplicity.
But because he loved her, he cared little what she became.
Seeing her so angry, he went over and embraced her.
"Just wait a bit, it’s not the right time to act."
Adrian Grant originally intended to pick up Raina Lowell from Alaric Jennings, but midway, Alaric Jennings gave him a call, saying he took Raina back to Lowell Manor.
Adrian Grant hurried to Lowell Manor, finding Raina sitting alone on the sofa, lost in thought, assuming she was again dwelling on her daughter. He went over to sit beside her and comforted:
"Don’t overthink. Isabelle Everett said she realized her mistake and will apologize to you in a few days."
Raina Lowell looked at him, thinking of matters from four years ago, still puzzled why he suddenly went before Grandpa to cancel the engagement with Isabelle Everett and insisted on marrying her.
To clarify what happened then, she asked Adrian Grant:
"Did you sleep with Isabelle Everett?"
Adrian Grant froze for a moment.
Unsure why Raina asked this suddenly.
Somehow, he felt uneasy.
Avoiding her gaze, he switched topics, "Raina, I’m going upstairs to shower. Wait for me here."
Raina Lowell followed his silhouette with her eyes.
"So before I went abroad, you slept with Isabelle Everett, right?"
