CHAPTER 11: CHAPTER 11: NOT LETTING HER SEE THE CHILDREN

Raina Lowell heard that the father of the children had died.

Adrian Grant’s expression slightly shifted.

A complex feeling inexplicably arose in his heart.

After a moment, he tossed a contract to Raina Lowell.

"Since you said you’ll pay back what you owe the Grant Family, then sign this. When you earn enough to repay one million, I’ll divorce you and grant you freedom."

Raina Lowell was stunned.

She picked up the agreement in disbelief to examine it.

It was a labor contract with The Grant Group, offering a monthly salary of twenty thousand.

The position was as an assistant to Adrian Grant.

Raina Lowell glanced over it; the contract seemed fine.

If Adrian Grant wanted her to pay back one million, without food or drink, she’d have to work for four or five years to repay it.

Even though she didn’t feel she owed the Grant Family that much money.

But recalling how kind Adrian’s grandfather was to her, that was something that couldn’t be measured with money.

Moreover, considering the grandfather’s poor health, she also needed Adrian Grant to keep the children a secret.

Later, when she had time, she planned to write more articles to earn extra money, perhaps she could repay it quickly.

Raina Lowell had no complaints and voluntarily signed the contract.

Seeing her sign so swiftly, Adrian Grant felt displeased and irritated.

He rose and approached her, suddenly gripping her throat, his eyes harsh.

"Raina Lowell, do you think just because I keep you by my side, I don’t care about your deception and lies?"

Raina Lowell was forced to tilt her neck to look at him, her face showed some guilt.

"I know you care a lot; I don’t expect you to accept me. I only hope you won’t tell the grandfather about this, don’t harm my children, I’ll do whatever you ask."

Such a proud person, how could he possibly accept his wife having someone else’s children.

He surely hated her deeply.

She really had no expectations except for her children’s safety.

"If it wasn’t for the grandfather, someone as dirty and shameless as you, having children before marriage, I wouldn’t even spare you a glance."

Adrian Grant roughly pushed her aside, leaving this remark:

"If you want your children to be fine, do your job properly from now on. If I am satisfied, I might reward you with a chance to see them."

He strode away; staying with her even for a second made him nauseous.

Especially recalling this year’s married life, thinking of her shy, breathless appearance beneath him every night, it disgusted him like swallowing a fly.

Watching his back, Raina Lowell quickly chased after him, blocking his way.

"No, Adrian Grant, you can’t separate them from me, they’ll cry if they don’t see me for two days."

And those two children are very sensitive.

They’re afraid of being abandoned by their mother.

Last time when she returned to the country, she didn’t see them for a week. At last, when they met at the airport, they hugged her and cried for a long time.

Let alone Aurora’s poor health, frequently falling ill was bad enough, crying made her more susceptible to acidosis.

Raina Lowell didn’t know how long Adrian Grant planned to keep them apart.

But even one day was unacceptable for her.

Adrian Grant halted, looking disdainfully at her.

"Get out of the way."

Raina Lowell refused, shaking her head, eyes teary.

"I’ll do anything you ask, but you can’t separate them from me. I’m begging you."

She originally felt there was no future with Adrian Grant, which is why she gave birth to the children abroad alone.

If he hadn’t called her back to the country and dragged her into marriage, she wouldn’t have deceived him.

How could he blame her now?

In these four years, hadn’t he and Isabelle Everett slept together?

"Do you have the right to beg me?"

Adrian Grant looked down at her, watching her put on a pitiful, heart-touching expression.

He really wanted to strangle her.

But he resisted the urge to be violent toward her, his face icy and loathing:

"Raina Lowell, I’ve never seen a woman who could act so well. You’ve had children with another man, yet in bed, you act as though you’re deeply in love with me."

"You should be grateful I didn’t directly kill you and those two children, so don’t disgust me anymore."

Truly unwilling to even spare her a glance, Adrian Grant pushed her away and left.

Raina Lowell stood frozen there, tears silently flowing, her heart breaking.

Over this past year, she really loved him.

If it weren’t for Isabelle Everett’s appearance, she might have stayed foolish forever.

The children’s existence was merely her dream of becoming a mother.

Knowing that saying anything now was futile and wouldn’t change a thing, Raina Lowell could only tough it out.

She wiped the tears from her cheeks, picking up the phone to call the nanny again.

This time, she finally got through to the nanny.

As soon as the call connected, Raina Lowell asked urgently and worriedly:

"Ms. Ford, where are you all? Are Aurora and Evelyn okay?"

Ms. Ford looked at the two already asleep children and assured her:

"Miss Lowell, don’t worry, Aurora and Evelyn are fine, but I also don’t know where we are."

"Was that man the children’s father? Why did he take us away and imprison us?"

"He’s not."

Raina Lowell denied it, lowering her voice:

"Did they do anything to you or the children? Can you send me your location?"

Ms. Ford replied disappointedly, "I can’t, someone is watching us. I only just got my phone."

"Miss Lowell, you must know the person who took us away, right? Maybe you should beg him, or call the police.

Otherwise, I fear Aurora and Evelyn missing you and not being able to see you will cause them psychological harm."

Raina Lowell knew without Adrian Grant’s permission, she might never see her two children.

For her children’s sake, she had to beg Adrian Grant.

After hanging up with Ms. Ford, Raina Lowell hurried through the villa to find Adrian Grant.

Madam Cole looked at her pale and anxious face, followed, and worriedly asked:

"Ma’am, what’s wrong?"

Raina Lowell grabbed her, "Have you seen Adrian Grant? Where is he?"

"Sir just left, drove away, I don’t know where he went."

Raina Lowell knew Adrian Grant was deliberately avoiding her.

Maybe he wouldn’t return today.

Maybe he wouldn’t come back tomorrow either.

But she had to see him.

If Adrian Grant didn’t let her see the children, she wouldn’t be able to rest tonight.

Raina Lowell pulled out her phone and quickly dialed Adrian Grant’s number.

After waiting a long time, he finally answered.

Her voice was choked and tearful, "Adrian Grant, I’m begging you, can I?"

But her answer was a familiar feminine voice.

"It’s me, Adrian’s driving, it’s not convenient to answer, what are you begging him for?"

The response to Raina Lowell was from Isabelle Everett.

Until now, apart from the Grant Family, no one knew Adrian Grant and Raina Lowell were already officially married.

Including Isabelle Everett, the Everett Family’s adopted daughter.

Although she was adopted, she was extremely fortunate, being taken in by the wealthy Everett Family.

Isabelle Everett was also determined, mastering everything from music and dance to poetry and painting, to earn recognition from her adoptive parents.

In Southgate, there was no other debutante who could claim to be first if she called herself second.

In social circles, she and Adrian Grant were deemed the perfect match.

Raina Lowell’s heart clenched, not imagining Adrian Grant would go straight to Isabelle Everett.

Was he so eager?

Her heart was in pain, yet she tried her best to endure, telling Isabelle.

"Pass the phone to Adrian Grant."

Before Isabelle could speak, Adrian Grant’s cold voice sounded, "Hang up, block her."
