Chapter 15: After She Left With the Children, He Panicked
CHAPTER 15: CHAPTER 15: AFTER SHE LEFT WITH THE CHILDREN, HE PANICKED
Adrian Grant ignored her, his face cold throughout, not even willing to spare her a glance.
Let alone acknowledge her.
Raina Lowell was desperate to see her children.
Even though she knew Adrian Grant despised her and would never forgive her.
She thickened her skin to follow him, clinging to him.
Until he relented.
In the parking lot, when Caleb Landon opened the car door, as Adrian Grant sat inside.
Raina Lowell also ducked into the car.
Sitting right beside Adrian Grant.
The man, with a dark face, yelled, "Get out."
Raina Lowell hurriedly fastened her seatbelt, stubbornly said:
"I said if you don’t let me see my children, I’ll stick with you."
She wanted to see who would outlast whom.
Adrian Grant didn’t want to waste words with her, looked at Caleb Landon standing outside.
"Drag her out for me."
Caleb Landon bent down, ready to pull Raina Lowell.
Raina Lowell refused, deliberately leaned closer to Adrian Grant, raising her hand to tightly hug his arm.
"Let me see my children; as long as they’re okay, I’ll have a clear talk with them, letting them know not to worry about me, and then I can come back to work for you, alright?"
If she still couldn’t see Aurora and Evelyn today, the little ones would surely cry.
Thinking about how easily Aurora could get alkalosis, she couldn’t delay any longer.
Every time Adrian Grant heard Raina Lowell mention those two children, he couldn’t suppress the anger and suffocation in his chest.
He roughly kicked her out of the car.
"Bring those children up to me again and you’ll never see them again, I swear."
However, as Raina Lowell rolled on the ground, attempting to get back into the car, the car door slammed shut heavily.
She tried to pounce again to latch onto Adrian Grant but was restrained by Caleb Landon.
"Ma’am, contact the nanny. She’ll send you the location."
Hearing this, Raina Lowell stopped pestering.
After watching Caleb Landon drive off, she hurriedly took out her phone to call Ms. Ford.
Sure enough, Ms. Ford sent her the location.
Raina Lowell eagerly followed the location, taking a taxi to the destination.
When she arrived, it was a manor in the outskirts.
Tall trees surrounded the area, the landscaping was exceptionally beautiful.
Perhaps because Caleb Landon had informed them in advance, the guard did not make things difficult for her and let her in directly.
Once inside, Raina Lowell walked a long way before seeing a villa not far off.
And on the lawn at the villa entrance, her two children were happily playing, chasing each other.
Raina Lowell ran over to call them, "Aurora, Evelyn."
The two little ones rushed towards her, their voices sweet as honey, "Mommy, you’re off work!"
Raina Lowell embraced them, ensuring there were no injuries on them and that they were in a good state.
Seeing Ms. Ford not far away, she waved her over.
Then asked Ms. Ford, "Is there any way out besides the main gate?"
She couldn’t let the children stay here.
This place was too remote. Who knew what Adrian Grant might do to the children later?
She had to take them away immediately.
Ms. Ford said, "When we were brought here, I glanced around. There seems to be a back door over there."
Raina Lowell didn’t think twice, grabbed her children’s hands, and signaled to Ms. Ford, "Let’s go, we need to leave quickly."
"Okay."
Ms. Ford didn’t know the situation either and feared encountering bad people, so she followed Raina Lowell, carrying the two children as they fled.
Evening, in Lowell Manor.
Caleb Landon received a call and went to Adrian Grant to report, "Bad news, President, ma’am ran away with the two children."
Adrian Grant’s brow furrowed, he glanced at the time, it was 7 p.m.
Thinking about how the outskirts were several kilometers from the city, and there wouldn’t be any other cars on the route here.
Moreover, the surroundings were all dense woods and deep mountains, in the dark of night, was that little woman running with two children courting death?
Adrian Grant inexplicably lashed out at Caleb Landon, "Then why are you still standing here? Send people to find them."
Caleb Landon snapped back to reality, nodded in acknowledgment, "Yes."
He immediately sent people to pursue them.
Thinking that ma’am was traveling with two such small children, they shouldn’t get far.
Sitting in the study, Adrian Grant was on pins and needles, feeling inexplicably uneasy.
Damn Raina Lowell.
He had people pick up her two children for the manor, giving them good food, drink, and entertainment.
What more did she want, that she ran off with the children as soon as she saw them?
Where could she run to?
The whole of Southgate, without his permission, was there a place for the three of them to stay?
After an hour, Adrian Grant proactively called Caleb Landon, "Have you found them?"
On the phone, Caleb Landon replied in a low voice, "Not yet."
"What are you doing if you still haven’t found a few people who couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag? Send people to search everywhere, how far could they have gone?"
Caleb Landon broke out in a cold sweat, "Yes, yes, I’ve already increased manpower."
Another hour passed, and Adrian Grant called Caleb Landon again.
Upon hearing they still hadn’t found them, Adrian Grant exploded.
"Caleb Landon, listen up, if you don’t find the three of them tonight, you can pack up and get out."
Just as he threw his phone, Madam Cole came in to report, "Sir, a Miss Ye is here to see you, says she’s your friend."
Adrian Grant waved her off, signaling Madam Cole to bring the guest upstairs.
Madam Cole nodded and withdrew, inexplicably feeling some sympathy for Raina Lowell.
The ma’am wasn’t even home, and already a woman was coming over.
Sir is truly something else. How can he have a wife and still get entangled with another woman, no wonder the ma’am wants to divorce.
After Raina Lowell and they left through the back door, they entered the mountains.
She hadn’t expected there’d be no signal in the mountains, unable to call for a car.
There was no other choice but to carry the children towards any sign of a road.
Yet it was getting dark, and the phone was almost out of battery.
After two hours of walking and not finding a road, Raina Lowell began to tire.
The two little ones on her back also became scared.
"Mom, it’s so dark around here, I’m scared. Our new home was nice, why did we leave?"
Raina Lowell didn’t know how to explain to the children that she had offended someone.
That person intended to harm them.
Afraid that Adrian Grant would use the children to threaten her in the future, she took them and ran without thinking.
And yet, as soon as they left, they were in the mountains, where there was no way out.
Ms. Ford suddenly saw something, pointing not far away:
"Miss Lowell, there’s light over there; it must be a passing car. Let’s head that way."
Raina Lowell understood, heading towards the light with the children on her back.
Just as they reached the road, several SUVs sped up, blocking their path.
Soon after, several burly men got down, swaggering in front of Raina Lowell, yet very politely:
"Apologies, ma’am."
As soon as he finished speaking, without waiting for Raina Lowell to react, they forcibly took the children into the car.
Raina Lowell was furious, wanting to stop them, but Ms. Ford shook her head, "Miss Lowell, we should go back with them. It’s too dangerous in these mountains, we must think of the children."
Raina Lowell knew these were Adrian Grant’s men.
Seeing how scared and exhausted Aurora and Evelyn were, she really couldn’t put them through more, so she obediently followed them back.
Once at the manor, the bodyguards separated her from the kids and Ms. Ford, refusing to let her see the children.
Caleb Landon got out of the car, kindly persuading her:
"Ma’am, doing this will only make the President less tolerant of them, and it will be even harder for you to see them in the future. Just come back with me first!"
Raina Lowell was unwilling, but the bodyguards carried her children into the manor.
Knowing it was pointless to linger here, she could only go back with Caleb Landon.
Once back at Lowell Manor, Madam Cole opened the door to welcome her into the villa, though with an unhappy face.
"Ma’am, have you divorced the sir?"
Raina Lowell shook her head.
She wanted to, but Adrian Grant was unwilling.
Madam Cole snorted with indignation:
"That sir is just too much, hasn’t even divorced you and is already bringing another woman here."
