Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours!
Chapter 34: I Won’t Have Children for You
CHAPTER 34: CHAPTER 34: I WON’T HAVE CHILDREN FOR YOU
Raina Lowell didn’t deny that she was very moved when her grandfather stood up for her.
At most, she was just happy to see Adrian Grant getting hit a few times.
But it wasn’t as if it brought her great joy.
With her lips pursed, she looked out the window and reminded him:
"Remember what you promised Grandpa, if you go looking for Isabelle Everett again, you’ll have to leave with nothing."
"Of course, if you don’t care about me and my child, I can cover for you."
Raina Lowell knew she had wronged him first.
If Adrian Grant wanted to continue entangling with Isabelle Everett, he should negotiate terms with her.
She wasn’t someone who couldn’t be reasoned with.
In fact, Adrian Grant didn’t really care much about the Grant Family’s inheritance.
Even without the Grant Family, he could still start from scratch like his grandfather did and create his own empire.
Adrian Grant focused on driving and said coldly:
"My dealings with Isabelle Everett aren’t for you to concern yourself with, but you, it’s time to fulfill your obligations."
Raina Lowell looked at him in confusion, "What obligations of mine?"
Anyway, she figured it couldn’t be marital obligations.
He should really be disgusted with her now, couldn’t possibly touch her again.
That night, it was only because he was drunk that he lost control.
Adrian Grant let out a hum, his deep, melancholic eyes staring ahead.
His long, slender fingers, knuckles distinct, tightly gripped the steering wheel, his handsome face still as cold as ice.
"Raina Lowell, I can choose not to care about you and those two illegitimate children of yours, but what you owe the Grant Family, you must repay."
Raina Lowell thought it was another matter of money and had no words to refute.
"I know, I will work hard to earn that million and pay you back."
"Did I say it was about money?"
Adrian Grant wasn’t even willing to give her another glance.
He spoke as if talking to someone he utterly despised, with not a shred of extra emotion.
Raina Lowell was perplexed.
She furrowed her brow and stared at him, a bit impatient, "Make yourself clear. If not money, then what?"
"Children."
Adrian Grant spoke without expression, his taut jawline smooth, his side profile so handsome it seemed like something out of a game model.
He had taken off his suit jacket, the vest underneath making him appear even more elegant and noble.
The mention of children instantly rendered Raina Lowell speechless.
Did this old man mean he wanted her to bear him children?
Thinking about how just moments ago at the old mansion, before leaving, Grandpa also suggested they prepare for pregnancy.
But she had long lost the ability to conceive.
It was precisely because she feared she might never be able to become a mother that she convinced herself to keep Aurora and Evelyn.
Raina Lowell’s face turned somber, and she lowered her head to refuse:
"I won’t have children for you."
Adrian Grant slammed on the brakes.
The inertia scared Raina Lowell, causing her to lurch forward.
Fortunately, she was wearing a seatbelt, or she would have been injured.
But her chest still ached from the pressure of the seatbelt.
Adrian Grant suppressed the anger in his chest, snorted coldly:
"Do you think I want you to have my child? A woman like you, who’s had children with someone else, I find it disgusting to touch you even once. If it weren’t for Grandpa’s pressure, I wouldn’t ever want to touch you again in this life."
She would rather have children for someone else than for him.
Very well, then.
Who would care to have her bear children?
If it weren’t for Grandpa, he would divorce her right now and make her stay as far away as possible.
Adrian Grant suddenly felt as if he had swallowed a fly, both nauseated and suffocated.
Raina Lowell didn’t want to be humiliated by him time and again.
With her head lowered, she couldn’t help but retort:
"Haven’t you ever slept with Isabelle Everett? I had children with someone else because I never thought there would be a future with you."
"I understand deceiving you was my wrongdoing, if you really can’t tolerate it, then divorce me, and go have children with Isabelle Everett, I’m not forcing you to stay with me."
She admitted she was wrong.
But what right did this man have to humiliate her repeatedly, speaking words that hurt her?
Raina Lowell thought her heart was dead, that she wouldn’t care about his every word and action anymore, yet now, she found her heart aching again.
Adrian Grant pressed his thin lips tight, his face like cast iron.
He really couldn’t continue this conversation with her.
He ordered, "Get out."
Raina Lowell felt a deep grievance, unwilling to stay a second longer with him, she opened the door and got out.
It wasn’t until she watched Adrian Grant drive away that she was able to breathe in the oxygen in the air.
But her heart was still in pain.
She forced herself not to care and took a cab back to the manor to see the children.
Yet upon arrival, the guards wouldn’t let her in.
Raina Lowell knew Adrian Grant was having another episode, preventing her from seeing her children.
After calling Ms. Ford and ensuring the children were okay, she could only return to Lowell Manor for now.
By the time she arrived, it was very late.
Raina Lowell entered, changing shoes at the entrance, Madam Cole came over to help her, and asked with concern:
"Madam, weren’t you out with the sir? How come you came back alone?"
Raina Lowell changed her shoes and looked at Madam Cole, "Adrian Grant didn’t come back?"
"No."
Madam Cole took Raina Lowell’s bag, "Madam, did you have dinner?"
Raina Lowell shook her head.
Not understanding how at this late hour, Adrian Grant still hadn’t returned.
Could it be that he went to find Isabelle Everett again?
Thinking that might be the case, when she sat down in the dining room, she took out her phone and called Caleb Landon.
Adrian Grant had blacklisted her number.
She couldn’t reach him, so she could only call Caleb Landon.
He answered, still polite, "Madam, is there something I can help you with?"
"Please inform Adrian Grant that I need to talk to him, tell him to return home."
Caleb Landon apologetically said:
"The CEO is on a business trip, and won’t be back for three days."
Raina Lowell obviously didn’t believe it.
"What kind of business trip at this time of night? I really need to talk to him urgently, can you ask him to come back?"
Caleb Landon sounded helpless, "The CEO really is on a business trip; his flight was tonight. Why would I lie to you?"
Just as Raina Lowell was about to say something else, she noticed Madam Cole opening the door to let Elias Sheridan in.
Remembering that Elias Sheridan had been to the manor.
Could she ask him to help take her there?
Raina Lowell hung up the phone, and when she turned to face Elias Sheridan, she felt inexplicably uneasy.
"Dr. Shepherd."
"Hmm."
Elias Sheridan looked at her as if she had just returned from outside, and couldn’t help but scold:
"Didn’t I tell you to rest properly? Why did you go outside? Did you take the medicine I gave you?"
He was mainly there to conduct her follow-up examination.
Raina Lowell thought about coming from the old estate tonight, with no time to even eat dinner, let alone take medicine.
She looked apologetic, "I’ll take it right now."
She quickly signaled to Madam Cole, "Madam Cole, please heat up the herbal medicine for me."
Madam Cole went to the kitchen.
Raina Lowell was also called to sit in the living room, where Elias Sheridan conducted her check-up.
Watching the man place the stethoscope on her chest, his focused expression serious, Raina Lowell sat there rigidly, not daring to move, cautiously spoke:
"You took Evelyn to the manor yesterday, is Aurora doing alright?"
Elias Sheridan set down the stethoscope, and couldn’t help but smile warmly whenever he spoke about those two children.
Yet he was also curious, "Were the children always by your side since birth? Why do they both call you mommy?"
