Surprise, CEO: Those Two Kids? They're Actually Yours!
Chapter 41: Aurora Is Missing
CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41: AURORA IS MISSING
Evelyn raised her chin and answered firmly, "Yes, why are you looking for my mom?"
Isabelle Everett felt as though she was struck by lightning.
She could hardly believe that Raina Lowell had such grown children.
Though they appeared small, they spoke fluently and moved swiftly, clearly looking around two or three years old.
So, when Raina Lowell went abroad, she was already pregnant?
Were these two children Adrian Grant’s?
Isabelle Everett stood frozen, recalling how four years ago she had someone drug Raina Lowell.
She had assumed that the drug would take effect and Raina, helped back to her room by Elias Sheridan, would end up having relations with him, but instead, Elias just sent her to her room and left.
By the time she went to capture evidence of Raina’s tryst with a man, she discovered that the man with Raina was Adrian Grant.
She hadn’t expected Adrian Grant to enter Raina’s room.
She hadn’t expected her own mistake to bring them together.
But fortunately, Raina Lowell ran away after waking up.
So when Adrian Grant awoke and saw her, he assumed that she was the one he had been with.
At the time, she had admitted as much.
After that, Adrian Grant said he would take responsibility for her and brought her to the Grant Family.
But the Grant Family strongly opposed their relationship.
To make herself outstanding, to earn the Grant Family’s approval, and to make everyone feel she was worthy of Adrian Grant,
when Raina Lowell went abroad to study, she, too, decided to study abroad.
She thought that upon returning, having become accomplished, the Grant Family would approve of her being with Adrian Grant.
Unexpectedly, Adrian Grant had already registered his marriage with Raina Lowell.
Was it because of these two kids that Adrian Grant was unwilling to divorce?
Isabelle Everett simply couldn’t accept that the man she had been waiting for painfully for ten years ended up marrying someone else and having a pair of children with them.
What made Raina Lowell worthy?
They were both orphans.
Why was Raina Lowell luckier than her?
Isabelle Everett was furious to the point of madness.
Especially looking at the two children in front of her, who bore a slight resemblance to Adrian Grant, she felt a fierce urge to harm them.
Suppressing that hatred, she took out her phone and pretended to make a call.
In reality, she was taking pictures of the two children, then turned and left.
Back in the car, Isabelle Everett took out her phone and instructed:
"You must get rid of that person for me as soon as possible. If you can’t pull it off, I’ll send you a picture, and you can start with the children."
...
Raina Lowell spent the entire morning at the hospital.
After getting the results, she drove back home.
But she was only halfway there when Caleb Landon’s call came through, asking her to go to the office after seeing the doctor.
Raina Lowell had no choice but to let Madam Cole return first, as she took the results and went to the office.
When she arrived, Adrian Grant was alone in the office.
Raina Lowell handed him the test results, honestly saying,
"I haven’t falsified anything. The results show tubal lesions and ovulation disorders."
Adrian Grant was seated in the boss’s chair, dressed in a dark suit, arrogant yet composed.
Glancing at the paper beside him, he didn’t appear concerned.
Madam Cole had already called him to report the results before.
She said it could be treated slowly, but it wasn’t certain when it would be cured.
It might take several years or perhaps never be cured.
So this woman couldn’t possibly bear the Grant Family’s offspring.
Adrian Grant buried himself in work again, coolly saying, "Take it away."
Raina Lowell picked up the sheet, noticing his displeased expression, lowered her head and said,
"If you don’t want a divorce, I’ll educate the children well. When they grow up, they will honor you too."
She now had children; Adrian Grant didn’t.
But they were still married, so naturally, he was upset.
If Adrian Grant was willing to treat her children as his own, she would teach them to respect him as their biological father.
But Adrian Grant never considered a future with her.
He stared at her, expressionless, "I said, when my grandpa passes, I’ll divorce you."
"Raina Lowell, even if I allow you to bring two children under my nose, I’ll tell you now, I will never accept them."
Those were someone else’s children; how could he accept them?
Since she couldn’t have children, he’d let her go when the time came.
Raina Lowell felt a sudden pain in her heart, forced a smile, and nodded,
"Fine, we’ll do as you say."
She wanted to return and spend time with her children.
But Adrian Grant didn’t want her to be so free and instructed,
"Get me some dessert from downstairs."
Raina Lowell thought she had misheard and turned to look at him,
"This time, you’re about to get off work, and you’re having dessert instead of going home for dinner?"
Besides, he clearly didn’t like sweets.
Wasn’t this just looking for trouble?
"Are you questioning me?"
Adrian Grant glared at her with cold eyes.
He couldn’t stand the sight of her without something to do.
After all, he had to help raise her two children during this time, which made him feel depressed just thinking about it.
"Fine, I’ll go buy it."
Raina Lowell put down the computer, stood up, and left.
After she left, Adrian Grant packed up and also left work.
When Raina Lowell returned with the dessert, she found no sign of Adrian Grant in the office.
She called him and found out he was already in the car.
Grinding her teeth, Raina Lowell had no choice but to carry the dessert to the parking lot.
Upon getting in the car, she saw Adrian Grant already sitting in the back seat. She handed him the dessert, grumbling,
"Here, eat it if it doesn’t make you sick."
Then drove off.
Adrian Grant wasn’t interested in having dessert.
He actually despised sweet things.
He tossed it aside and leaned back to rest his eyes.
Soon after, the phone rang.
It was Isabelle Everett’s number.
Adrian Grant placed the phone against his ear, then opened his eyes and looked at Raina Lowell, who was driving.
"To the hospital."
Raina Lowell thought he still didn’t believe the results she had brought, wanting to personally go to the hospital to ask.
Despite feeling uncomfortable, she obediently drove to the hospital.
Upon arrival, Adrian Grant got out and ordered, "Wait here for me. Even if it gets late, you are not allowed to leave until I return."
Raina Lowell expressed no kindness, sarcastically reminding him,
"Go ahead, make sure to ask thoroughly so you don’t think I’m deceiving you again."
Adrian Grant knew what she was referring to and ignored it, turning to enter the hospital.
He was there to see Isabelle Everett.
He couldn’t understand why that woman was so delicate, needing hospitalization for a simple sprained ankle.
Raina Lowell sat in the car, bored, planning to call and check on the kids.
Just then, Madam Cole’s call came through.
Raina Lowell pressed the answer button and spoke first,
"What’s up Madam Cole, did they hide again and you can’t find them?"
The two little ones loved playing hide and seek.
They often hid at home, and Madam Cole would frantically search to no avail.
Since Madam Cole called at this time, it must be because she couldn’t find the children again.
Madam Cole said anxiously,
"Yes, little Aurora is nowhere to be found. I’ve turned the whole villa upside down and can’t find her."
Raina Lowell wasn’t worried, patiently saying,
"Search some more; this house is bigger than the other one, so she might be hiding more easily."
The phone was taken by Evelyn, who cried,
"Mommy, we really can’t find sister. Please come back, okay?"
