CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: FORCING HER TO LEAVE WITH NOTHING

Upon learning that Aurora was severely injured in the hospital, Alaric quickly brought Evelyn over.

Seeing Aurora’s situation indeed worrying, Alaric came to Raina’s side to comfort her:

"You don’t need to worry, I know a doctor here, I’ll have her come and take a look at Aurora."

Raina nodded.

She was worried that her daughter might wake up and ask for her father again.

What if she only wants Adrian?

And that man, it seems he’s set on having Isabelle.

Thinking of the crimes Isabelle committed, letting her easily marry Adrian and live happily ever after, Raina couldn’t just sit there and do nothing.

She had to return to The Grant Family to uncover the truth.

Looking at Alaric, Raina felt reassured to leave her children in his care.

"Please watch them for me at the hospital, I have something to handle and need to leave."

"What are you planning to do? Don’t go looking for that woman doing something foolish again, remember, this is Southgate. If there’s any trouble, I can’t guarantee I can protect you."

In Yarrow, he could still protect her.

But this was not his territory, if Raina did something foolish again, it would be quite a tricky situation to handle.

"Don’t worry, with Aurora and Evelyn, I won’t be impulsive anymore."

Raina instructed her son a few more words, then left the hospital heading to The Grant Family’s old residence.

She arrived in the evening, and the housekeeper greeted her at the door.

Calling towards the family having dinner in the dining room:

"Sir, madam, young master, madam has returned."

Mr. and Mrs. Grant, Adrian looked over upon hearing.

Seeing Raina coming, they were visibly angry.

Especially Adrian.

He thought this woman had self-awareness and was just waiting to divorce him on Monday, not to show up seeking attention again.

Unexpectedly, she came to the old residence herself.

What was the purpose of her visit here?

Adrian didn’t know.

"Raina Lowell, how do you still have the guts to come here?"

It was Mrs. Grant who couldn’t hold back her anger first, standing up intending to teach Raina a lesson.

After all, her sins were unforgivable.

Not only did she hide the fact she had a child from everyone but also angered the elder to death.

A heartless beast like her should never appear in The Grant Family again.

But she hadn’t yet stepped forward when Adrian restrained her with an upheld hand.

"Mom, sit down, I’ll handle the issues between us. The marriage will be over by Monday at the latest, it won’t drag on for long."

"But she..."

Mrs. Grant just wanted to discipline Raina, the little brat; The Grant Family treated her well but she brought shame on them.

Turning her son into the laughingstock of Southgate.

Without giving her a lesson, it couldn’t soothe her anger.

"Mom, if you don’t want this marriage dragging on forever, don’t interfere in my matters with her."

Adrian’s face turned cold as he got up to drag Raina upstairs.

Once upstairs, he let her go and asked coldly:

"Why are you here."

Even if she was here to beg, he wouldn’t change his mind.

Unless she was sincere.

Perhaps then he’d consider it.

"I’m here to investigate grandfather’s death, Adrian Grant, when I confessed to grandfather initially, he didn’t blame me and even asked me to bring Evelyn home for him to see."

"I don’t believe grandfather died because of me, it must have been Isabelle who harmed him. I request the surveillance footage from the day grandfather passed; I need to see if Isabelle approached him."

She couldn’t just bear the name of causing grandfather’s death.

Even if she had to leave this family, she had to do it with a clear conscience.

"You’re here to investigate grandfather’s death?"

Adrian didn’t hear the answer he expected, instantly becoming annoyed, as he faced Raina with a murderous expression.

"Do you think you are smart and we are all idiots waiting as the culprit goes free?"

Upon hearing the suspicion concerning grandfather’s death, he had already sent someone to investigate.

But there was no evidence pointing to Isabelle as the culprit.

If he couldn’t find anything, what made this woman think she could have evidence against Isabelle?

"You’ve investigated?"

Raina pressed further.

If Adrian couldn’t uncover evidence of Isabelle’s crimes, she certainly wouldn’t be able to either.

The reason Isabelle confessed to her must be that she was confident there’d be no trace to be found.

How did that vicious woman manage to leave no trace at all?

"You better leave now, or if my parents do something to you, I definitely won’t bother saving you."

Adrian didn’t want to waste words, pushing her away.

Raina didn’t want to leave, uncertain she asked again, "You really investigated?"

"I did, I interrogated all the staff in the house and checked all the surveillance thoroughly ten times. It’s not Isabelle’s doing, do you understand?"

Adrian couldn’t hold his patience anymore, "If you don’t leave now, I’ll throw you out."

Given his mother’s temperament, a few more minutes and she probably couldn’t tolerate this woman’s presence.

She dared come recklessly.

Wasn’t the last kneeling at the door enough?

Raina slowly descended the stairs, taking a few steps before turning back to look at Adrian.

"Though there’s no evidence proving Isabelle is the culprit, she did kidnap my Aurora nearly causing our deaths; that’s a fact, Adrian Grant, do you really want to marry her?"

She used to not care about this man being with Isabelle.

But after everything Isabelle did, if she could calmly marry Adrian, Raina couldn’t tolerate it.

She hoped Adrian could open his eyes, not to entangle with such a vicious woman.

"Even if my son marries a murderer, he would never want a shameless woman who has kids with others like you."

Downstairs, Mrs. Grant’s angry voice rang out.

"Someone, drag her down here to sign the agreement then throw her out."

The butler nodded, signaling the servants nearby.

The servants hurried upstairs to drag Raina down.

Adrian watched and quickly followed downstairs, curious to see what his mother wanted Raina to sign.

It was a stock transfer agreement, a gift from the elder to Raina.

Seeing it, Raina’s eyes suddenly reddened.

She always knew grandfather was kind to her.

Who would’ve thought such a valuable asset, the company’s stock, was given to her, even more than Adrian’s share.

Raina was forced down on her knees by the servants, Mrs. Grant threw a pen at her.

"Sign it, along with this divorce agreement leaving you with nothing, sign them and you can leave."

Adrian stood by without speaking.

A mindless woman like Raina had no use for company stocks.

Returning them was the best option, preventing them from falling into malicious hands.

Raina hesitated.

Signing the two agreements before her meant Adrian marrying Isabelle; that would guarantee Isabelle a share.

Unwilling, she looked at Adrian.

"I will sign, but you must also sign something for me: if you don’t marry Isabelle, I’ll voluntarily give up all assets. If you insist on marrying Isabelle, I won’t sign."

That was grandfather’s legacy.

There was no way she could let it fall into the hands of those who caused his death.

"Raina Lowell, do you have the right to negotiate with me?"

Adrian was tired of wasting time with her, throwing down harsh words:

"If you want your daughter to be safe, you better sign obediently, otherwise, one word from me and I could take your daughter’s life."
