Survival Begins Through Adaptation
Chapter 30: Hellstien
CHAPTER 30: HELLSTIEN
The area was left bloodied. Students from Crescent Moon Academy layed all over, dead. From the top of the trees to deep into the earth, their bodies were scattered everywhere. One of the students, somehow still alive, dragged himself across the cold ground, tracing the dirt and leaving a trail of blood behind.
Damn it, that demonic bastard. He thought, flashes of what happened flooding into his mind.
He— He was so fast, we could barely even see him... And those punches. His body trembled at the thought. They said that he was just an F-rank who cheated his way into the secret realm, but what i saw wasn’t something cheating could accomplish.... That was sheer power.
He kept crawling, dragging himself past his dead comrades’ bodies, his face losing color by the second. His hands gave out, his head slamming into the ground with a THUD.
I can’t keep going. He thought as he breathed heavily. He began to lift his head up, his neck shaking vigorously from the strain. looking ahead, his eyes widened in shock.
It was Merlin, stooping before him. She brought her hand towards his head, poking at his forehead with her finger. "Hey, this one’s still alive," said Merlin, her tone cold as she stared into his eyes. The student looked at her with dread, his body shaking from fear, sweat beading from his forehead.
"Oh, yeah, you’re right. Thanks for pointing that out." A voice came from his left. He slowly began turning his head and he saw Khal, walking up towards him with his hands in his pockets.
Khal stood beside him, looking down at him. He lifts his foot into the air, keeping it above the student’s head. He tried to move, but his body had already given out, leaving him there helpless, just staring in horror.
"Wai— Wait a second, please, I—I was under orders! I have no grudges against either of you; there is no need to go so far—"
"The pain must be horrible." Khal cut him off, menacingly looking down at him. "Let me end it for you." With that being said, Khal brought his foot down, with deadly force, killing him instantly, the stomp echoing into the forest.

Khal turned around, walking deeper into the forest, going in the direction the Crescent Moon students came from, with Merlin following him from behind.
Out of the fifty-six of them i took out i somehow only managed to obtain 50000 points. Khal thought, looking at the leaderboard.
I know Khal and Rose have been hoarding the majority of points they obtain, but unless he kills them for their points, how is he able to hoard all the points? And if most of the students from Crescent Moon only have this many points, won’t almost all of them fail?
Khal’s eyes widen from the realization. Or maybe... They want most of them to fail.
Khal felt a slight tug at his sleeve, snapping him out of his thoughts; quickly he turned his head to see merlin looking up at him, just staring him in his eyes."
She stared for awhile before letting go of his sleeve and turning her gaze back to the path in front of her.
What was that about? Khal wondered before fixing his focus back to the forest ahead.
Whatever... I don’t know what Crescent Moon’s entire plan is but i know if i don’t do something to stop it, something bad is going to happen. Khal thought, clenching his fist tightly.
"We’re going to face a whole lot more of them soon, so i need you to stay focused and at the top of your game."
Merlin nodded her head, gripping her staff, following closely beside Khal.
"Don’t worry... I won’t slow you down."
After about two minutes of walking, Khal suddenly came to a stop, putting his hand in front of Merlin and looking intensely into the dark area of forest before him. There was no one but the trees and bushes blowing back and forth from the wind but Khal just stood there, staring.
"All of you can come out now; even in the dark, there’s no point in hiding before me, especially you... Ragan.... I can hear your disgusting heavy breaths of excitement from this far away."
Merlin backed away, standing a few feet behind Khal, holding her staff tightly, aiming it towards the direction Khal faced.
Shadows began coming from behind a few of the trees before them, footsteps slowly approaching them; with each step Khal saw a red name appear in the darkness. They stepped into the light, revealing themselves. It was Ragan and ten other Crescent Moon Students.
Ragan stood before them with a smile on his face, gripping his long, red spear, matching the color of his hair and eyes. He wore Red plated armor from his chest to feet, an unknown fiery energy seeping out of its creases.
Behind him, the ten other students, staring at Khal and Merlin with smug looks, each of them holding weapons of all kinds.
"You’re speaking as if you’re not the one that is somewhere he shouldn’t be," Ragan said, his tone mocking.
"As if you didn’t break into my home, murder my kids, on your way to fuck my wife and steal all my money." Ragan’s allies turned their heads, looking at each other confused.
"What is he talking about?" One of them whispered. "I don’t know but just act like you do if you want to live." Another whispered back.
Ragan lifted his arms in a T pose, pacing side to side, looking back at his allies behind him, the smile on his face becoming wider.
"Well, we came out. What now?"
