Surviving The Fourth Calamity
Chapter 939 - 735: Sisters, Do You Want to Keep White Dragons?
CHAPTER 939: CHAPTER 735: SISTERS, DO YOU WANT TO KEEP WHITE DRAGONS?
The White Dragon, who naturally had a husky demeanor, following behind the Undead Tribe... the outcome was somewhat unpredictable.
And if you add the White Dragon Queen who follows Mystra... Hill really can’t imagine what the future of Toril would become.
Although it’s quite possible that a few White Dragons might leave the Evil Faction, it’s more likely that most will shift from order to chaos, and Hill doesn’t believe this is an overly pessimistic prediction...
Elvia Tulais didn’t sense Hill’s sorrow. Gazing at the powerful Undead Tribe, her slender eyes nearly radiated light, suddenly filled with ambition.
She had long known from Laila that these Teraxil Elves had come to Toril only for some special reasons and had no designs on this world, and would leave sooner or later... in fact, it was just Kelben offending the Father of Elves under the hint of Mystra, who then brought Elves from another world to teach those reckless humans a lesson.
Elvia Tulais truly felt that the short-lived races forgot their history too quickly... have humans really forgotten how powerful and terrifying the Elves were millennium ago?
When those Elf Empires ruled the continent, the population of a single empire was more than the entire Ferun Great Land now... actually, if you count those who moved to the Stellar Realm to avoid participating in that fratricidal war, there are still many Elves in the Toril Universe.
They just didn’t want to get involved in the trivial matters of the Main World.
But that doesn’t mean they will never return... aren’t the Mithril Elves who have pledged allegiance to the Lord of Agleya in the Hidden Forest a prime example?
The White Dragon Queen was a bit shocked when she found out about their appearance... the Hidden Forest is not far from here, yet she didn’t feel a thing!
In fact, anyone with a little knowledge of the world outside should know that various kinds of Elves are almost everywhere in the major universes. The Elves here in Toril failed because of their foolishness, which doesn’t mean the ones in other worlds did as well.
But due to humans being so ignorant and arrogant, it gave her, Elvia Tulais, an opportunity!
The White Dragon Queen watched the friend of Edna below, contemplating how to start a conversation with her. Most importantly, how to choose a more suitable territory for both sides.
When these Teraxil Elves head to the North, they’ve got to occupy a few settlements, right?
She knew many great places! Sadly, she lacked the ability to occupy them before... the most powerful on the Ice Plain were not these Giant Dragons, but Olypher.
Sometimes, they even had to be wary of Tampas, that God of Battle would not hesitate to strike against a White Dragon.
His neutrality has always depended on who’s standing behind... the Chromatic Dragon Queen would not come out to protect useless White Dragons.
Elvia Tulais was a very smart dragon, so even though her iceberg-formed Ice Island was precarious and everyone knew it would eventually crack, she didn’t choose to move.
As long as the Tower Spirit was brought along, there was nothing much to cherish about that Magic Tower... but she understood well, even if she occupied a better place, it would only bring countless troubles.
The White Dragon Queen displayed a triumphant smile, but things were different now!
With the Teraxil Elves, she wouldn’t be afraid even if All Gods returned to Toril!
The White Dragon Queen looked down at the lively Teraxil Elves who had been fighting half the day for some inexplicable little fun; after all, they certainly liked making a fuss... you could call this a win-win!
She did indeed want White Dragons to inherit part of the legacy left by the Teraxil Elves, which wasn’t a bad thing... White Dragons have never minded picking up leftovers from others.
But she wasn’t foolish, she didn’t want places like Luskan.
Forget the fact that this city’s lord is a powerful Archmage and the Municipal Officer is Laila; even if it weren’t those two, Elvia Tulais wouldn’t be arrogant enough to think White Dragons could occupy a city on a major crossroads... but those Pirate Islands next to Luskan, those could certainly belong to the White Dragons, well, first they should belong to the Teraxil Elves.
But in the future...
The land left by my previous master would, of course, be managed by the pet White Dragon left behind at that time.
Next to it is Luskan of the Lord of Agleya, and for his sake, not many would argue with the White Dragon.
Elvia Tulais turned her head and asked the little master on her back: "Dear Master, do your Teraxil Elf friends have anyone willing to take in a few hundred poor, weak, starving White Dragons?
I promise they’ll be more loyal than dogs in the future... White Dragons have a high reputation for that... as long as they’re well-fed, they will even wag their tails at their master without issue."
Edna looked at her magical pet and said somewhat gloomily, "Elvia Tulais, you should know I can sense your true thoughts, right?"
Her magical pet, having just signed the contract, didn’t intend to hide its true nature at all!
"Just call me Elvia." The White Dragon Queen grinned and said, "I can’t deceive my own master... but you still have to be cautious with words, in Toril, every place has ears, and you can’t just say what you truly feel."
"Isn’t this beneficial for your friend too? All I want are the things left behind after they leave, things that no longer hold value."
"For them, the only cost is food. But isn’t a white dragon a good pet? After all, it’s a giant dragon!"
"Not everyone is qualified to keep a dragon!"
"Besides, they’re already raising pigs!"
"Are white dragons worse than those wild boars?"
Edna, who had seen the Duchess and her whole family, fell silent... She wasn’t sure how to tell her overly confident magical pet... Perhaps in the minds of the Teraxil Elves, white dragons might actually be inferior to those pigs.
Elvia Tulais keenly sensed her master’s attitude, vigorously twisting her long neck: "Master Edna! What are you thinking?"
"Elvia..." Edna cautiously said, "How about later I talk to Sanda King Sister, and let you get to know their magical pets?"
The white dragon slowly turned her head back, knowing her master was still a child, incapable of lying... She understood all too well what that implied.
Needless to say, no matter how beautiful the pig, it could never be more endearing than the ugliest white dragon.
So, is the difference intelligence?
At least, Edna really believed that in terms of intelligence, her white dragon babies might lose.
Elvia, who grew up living with an Archmage, knew many secrets and truths of this world. She absolutely didn’t believe there were any wild boars innately smarter than dragons.
Unless they had some peculiar bloodline...
But it seemed that the Teraxil Elves didn’t find the wisdom of these high-intelligence wild boars strange... so all magical beasts in Teraxil are very smart?
How is that possible...
Elvia knew very well that, regardless of the world, the World Will is fair: humanoid creatures are weak in physique but strong in intelligence. Magical beasts lack wisdom, hence their formidable physical strength.
They, the giant dragons, appear powerful... but that’s just appearance; in reality, they still have significant innate limitations. Though white dragons have low intelligence at birth, they can reproduce, while other giant dragons, though very strong at birth, simply can’t reproduce.
Hasn’t the Silvermoon Dragon Queen and her mate been together for millennia, yet only have one offspring?
Elvia couldn’t help but glance at the whale floating above Luskan. The Dragon Worship Church always tried to tempt her to become a Dragon Lich, so they talked a lot, thus she knew very well, if it weren’t for the Lord of Agleya City saving that little Golden Dragon named Terry, the Silvermoon Dragon Queen would have gone mad long ago.
Elvia never thought a world filled only with giant dragons was all that splendid... Based on her understanding of some past events, such a world might have been wrecked by dragons long ago... So the ideologies of the Dragon Worship Church hardly convinced her; she merely drooled over the knowledge in those dragons’ hands and their formidable power.
The White Dragon Queen gracefully drew a beautiful curve in the praises of the Teraxil Elves on the ground, deciding to take a look at these peculiar magical pets: if there were problems with these guys, her plans would have to change... Although those white dragons didn’t hold such high status in her heart, she couldn’t just send them to their deaths.
She still hoped it was because the world of Teraxil was special that such unique animals came to be... Opportunities like this were rare, and Elvia truly did not want to lose them... Arausato was still waiting for her good news!
Though the Ancient White Dragon couldn’t bear to lower her face, as long as a large portion of the white dragons signed contracts with the Teraxil Elves, the rest could be quite safe... Elvia believed that these reasonable elves wouldn’t refuse the relatives and friends of their magical pets living nearby.
In the crowd, Elvia found the ’Old Age Striking King’ and her companions who were getting ready to return to the family base, gently landing beside them.
"Sanda King Sister~ Had fun?" Edna cheerfully greeted, "Want to come up? Elvia won’t mind."
The little girl was well aware of how gentle her white dragon could be when seeking favors.
"No thanks..." The ’Old Age Striking King’ lazily waved her hand, "If I go up, they’ll all swarm... Don’t put your Elvia in a corner!"
"Sister, do you all like white dragons? Want to keep one?" Edna decided to ask directly, as her sisters were particularly perceptive. If they detected Elvia’s probing, they might be displeased with her.
Edna didn’t want to anger her best friends over something utterly unnecessary.
Elvia tilted her head, listening to their conversation, showing no sign of dissatisfaction: although she couldn’t hear her master’s inner thoughts, she could feel her master’s mood.
The cautious feeling surprised the white dragon a bit, thinking she better adjust her plans a bit if the cooperation partner was the lady in front of her. She should probably have a better attitude.
