Swallowed Star 2: Origin Continent
Chapter 259: Sorting the Knowledge System
CHAPTER 259: SORTING THE KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM
Luo Feng sat cross-legged inside the Star Tower. Between his brows, the Eye of Life and Death opened, gazing upon the Origin Continent—and even further, beyond it, into the endless Primordial Currents.
“With a single glance, I can observe the entire Source World, even what lies beyond it… Is this the observational ability of a High-Rank Primordial Lifeform?” Luo Feng thought.
He remained fully aware of the truth.
Although the Eye of Life and Death had been refined from the corpse of a complete world-level Primordial Lifeform, the Life-and-Death-Eyed Beast, it was still wielded by him. His observational ability was nowhere near that of a world-level Primordial Lifeform.
From the vast information in the Infinite Space Treasury, Luo Feng could deduce the hierarchy—Primordial Ancestor, World-level Primordial Lifeform, High-Rank Primordial Lifeform, and Low-Rank Primordial Lifeform—with each level descending in status.
The difference between each tier was enormous.
In Luo Feng’s view, a World-level Primordial Lifeform could easily perceive beings such as the Ancestors of the Two Kingdoms or the Ancestor of the East Extremity Region, seeing through them clearly, leaving no secrets hidden.
“For a lifeform still trapped within the Caged World to possess the observational power of a High-Rank Primordial Lifeform that transcends it… This Eye of Life and Death is truly a priceless treasure.” Luo Feng withdrew his gaze from the outer world and turned it inward.
Whoosh.
The Eye of Life and Death between his brows shifted its focus toward the deep Secret Patterns of the Star Tower.
Boom!
Just as humans on Earth would see differently through naked eyes, microscopes, or X-rays—
So too did Luo Feng.
As a being at the Second Stage of the Divine King Realm, with a God Emperor-level mental will, the Secret Patterns he once perceived in the Star Tower now appeared vastly different through the vision of the Eye of Life and Death.
“This… this…” Luo Feng was stunned by what he saw.
In his vision, the deep Secret Patterns of the Star Tower existed simultaneously across multiple layers of space-time, forming a magnificent, multidimensional structure. Within its innermost layer, time stood completely still—the Blood-Red Scale eternally fixed at a single moment in time.
Time locked! Eternal and unchanging!
No matter how many eons passed in the outer world, the Blood-Red Scale remained as it was in the beginning.
“So beautiful.”
Luo Feng marveled at the sight.
At the edges, the Blood-Red Scale shimmered faintly with Twelve Colors, eternally indestructible. Time and space collapsed into a single fixed point upon it.
From that core point outward, space gradually unfolded.
As space expanded and took shape, time began to flow—slowly.
Those Secret Patterns operated simultaneously across countless flowing timelines.
To observe across different spaces usually required reaching an extremely high realm on the Origin Path of Space.
To observe across timelines required equally deep mastery over the Path of Time.
Yet with the Eye of Life and Death, Luo Feng could see all of it effortlessly. Even the most hidden mysteries could not escape his gaze.
“In the past, I created nine Eight-Branch Fusion Techniques.” Luo Feng gently shook his head. “But now I see how shallow my insight was—my techniques are riddled with weaknesses.” S
With a flick of his hand, Luo Feng took a Primordial Crystal and consumed it as casually as candy, then immersed himself in studying the deep Secret Patterns of the Star Tower.
“My knowledge system—on the Paths of Life, Destruction, and Life and Death—needs to be reorganized.” Luo Feng began his study.
The Eye of Life and Death merely assisted him, allowing him to perceive what High-Rank Primordial Lifeforms could see with ease.
But to analyze those insights—
To comprehend them fully—
And then to integrate them into his own path, forming a part of his personal Dao—
That depended entirely on comprehension.
This was precisely why Senior Yuan and the others had filtered through countless worlds to select only the most extraordinary geniuses. Without talent, even the greatest resources would be wasted. The twelve exchange holders before Luo Feng had all been highly gifted, yet their achievements remained mediocre.
To them, attaining the rank of a World-level Primordial Lifeform was cause for celebration. But to the likes of Yuan, an additional High-Rank Primordial Lifeform meant nothing.
Luo Feng had arrived in the Origin Continent only eight hundred eras ago, and his accumulation already reached this height. His talent undeniably far surpassed that of all prior powerhouses of the Origin Continent.
——
In the holy land of the Ancient Thunder Kingdom—Thunder Mountain, within an ancient space where the Thunder Ancestor secluded himself.
“From the special life remnants in the Deep Region of the Dream Domain and those in the depths of the Heavenly Pillar Realm, I’ve obtained a total of six. Over endless eras, I sold them one by one. Now, only this single one remains.” The Thunder Ancestor gazed at a golden finger bone before him.
“Across every era of the Origin Continent, I have nurtured Monarchs to help me collect treasures.”
“All kinds of Rare Wonders, all manner of Secret Treasures.”
“They’ve all helped me reach the Complete God Emperor Realm.” His eyes turned cold. “I’ve observed High-Rank Primordial Lifeform prisoners many times—even dissected their corpses. I’ve exchanged insights with powerhouses from countless worlds.”
“But…”
“How does one awaken to the ultimate? I still have no clue!”
The Thunder Ancestor stared at the golden finger bone—his last piece of Special Life Remnants, and the most crucial one.
As his mind seeped into it, he could perceive Thunder Secret Patterns hidden within, and faintly glimpse a towering, colossal being.
“Senior Yuan once told me personally that my opportunity for breakthrough lies within this finger bone. As long as I can comprehend even a fragment, I’ll achieve ultimate awakening.” The Thunder Ancestor’s face twisted with frustration.
“A fragment?”
He grimaced in pain. “It’s right before me, yet after studying it for countless eras, I still can’t make sense of it.”
He had long realized that his comprehension was lacking. Even though he had also reached the Ultimate Realm, he had taken tens of times longer than the Flame Wind Ancestor. He could never truly grasp the Path of the God Emperor, and thus abandoned the Path of Comprehenders, turning instead to cultivate the Primordial Bloodline.
The Primordial Bloodline was indeed easier—one only needed to excavate the potential within. Through time, resources, and a few opportunities, he had forced his way to his current level.
“Even among Complete God Emperors, those most terrifying beings could crush me with a single palm.” The Thunder Ancestor understood the gap clearly.
The Complete God Emperor Realm corresponded only to the Half-Primordial Level, yet the difference within that tier could still be vast.
Those of the Path of Comprehenders were naturally much stronger.
Among the countless powerhouses of the myriad worlds, there were even more dazzling ones—those who pushed not just one Path but multiple Paths to the Half-Primordial Level! Some even began to fuse different Half-Primordial Paths, or awaken the power of World-level Primordial Bloodlines...
Those beings were the truly peerless prodigies.
Among them, some transcended the Caged World to become High-Rank Primordial Lifeforms—and rumor had it, even some became World-level Primordial Lifeforms!
Compared to them, the Thunder Ancestor was nothing but a shadow in the corner.
“No clue at all.” The Thunder Ancestor sat before the finger bone, calmed his mind, and continued to study in silence.
——
Atop Thunder Mountain.
Two Monarchs met.
“White Demon, you’ve grown quite bold.” The man with blue-white scales and three armored tails, his demeanor solemn and holy, frowned at the pale-skinned elder beside him. “It’s one thing to act in the border nations, but you’ve even sent your subordinates to capture entire tribes within our Ancient Thunder Kingdom?”
“Monarch Lando, you discovered that?” The White Demon Monarch smiled. “My men were careful—spread across the various Chaos States of the Ancient Thunder Kingdom, making little noise. None of the other Monarchs noticed, but you did.”
Monarch Lando frowned. “It’s one thing to strike at outer nations, but why touch the heartlands of our own kingdom?”
“The entire Origin Continent will soon face annihilation. Most beings of the Ancient Thunder Kingdom will die anyway.” The White Demon Monarch said indifferently, “Since that’s the case, what harm is there in capturing a few creatures from our wilderness?”
“Lando, you know that the Milky Way Divine Kingdom already occupies vast territories. There’s less and less land suitable for our raids. You yourself send people out to plunder—so I simply turned inward. The heartlands of our kingdom are wide enough! As long as we stay quiet, no one will notice.” He chuckled.
Monarch Lando regarded his companion silently.
He was tempted.
“You could join me,” White Demon said with a grin.
“Keep it quiet,” Monarch Lando warned. “Don’t touch any major cities. As for the wild regions—we’ll divide them equally, each taking half the Chaos States. The total number of creatures captured must not exceed one-tenth of those regions.”
“You’re the ruthless one. My own raids haven’t even reached a tenth yet.” White Demon laughed loudly.
——
These two Monarchs—the White Demon Monarch and Monarch Lando—were cautious despite their plundering. Given the constant wars across the Origin Continent, even within the Ancient Thunder Kingdom, their actions went unnoticed for a time.
But as the years crept on, their schemes eventually triggered a web of consequences.
After all, those wilderness tribes had kin who hunted outside or lived in major cities.
As more tribes vanished entirely, survivors began to investigate. Their inquiries grew louder, eventually drawing in even the Royal Divine Kings.
——
In the capital of the Milky Way Divine Kingdom—
“How daring!” Emperor Guixu slammed the report in his hand, fury flashing in his eyes. He turned toward the Divine King Wuxin. “Wuxin, are you certain of this information?”
“You know my escape abilities,” Divine King Wuxin sneered. “The Ancient Thunder Kingdom is already in chaos. Their Royal Divine Kings were furious and began investigating, but suddenly, all went silent. That’s when I knew something was wrong.”
“I too wondered who had such audacity—to offend both the Ancient Thunder Kingdom and the Lord of the Milky Way himself.”
“Curious, I dug deeper—and ha! Turns out it’s their own traitors.” Wuxin shook his head. “The Eternal True Gods behind these raids are linked to the White Demon Monarch and Monarch Lando. Their subordinates have been plundering not only within the Ancient Thunder Kingdom but also across several border nations—for about seventy eras now.”
“Seventy eras?” Emperor Guixu roared. “Such long-lasting, large-scale raids—they’ve utterly disregarded our Lord of the Milky Way! I must report this to him immediately!”
Emperor Guixu rose and departed at once.
Divine King Wuxin watched him go, anger still simmering. He himself dared not provoke Monarchs of the Ancient Thunder Kingdom.
“I wonder how the Lord of the Milky Way will handle this,” he thought.
Emperor Guixu, holding a high position in the Milky Way Divine Kingdom, quickly met with Morosa to report everything.
Inside the grand palace—
“What?” Morosa was both shocked and furious. “Those two—White Demon Monarch and Monarch Lando—they’ve completely disregarded my master!”
“Master, master!” Morosa immediately sent a mental message to Luo Feng.
