CHAPTER 1970: CHAPTER 1963: CAN’T GIVE YOU AGAIN
"That’s right," An Hao nodded, "Gu Shuangshuang’s past experience is right there for everyone to see!"
"Didn’t realize you care so much about me! Are you worried I’ll become the next Tian Niu? You’re mistaken, that girl doesn’t have the slightest interest in me," Qin Jian said, "You’re being overly cautious!"
"Tch! I don’t want to bother with you." Perhaps An Hao was indeed being a bit too narrow-minded.
Maybe Yuan Yunong truly didn’t have that intention; she simply helped them purely because she saw them earlier and felt pity.
There are still many kind-hearted people in society nowadays.
But An Hao didn’t regret her actions earlier.
Upon returning home, the guard Xiaoliu was playing blocks on the sofa with Ning Chenguang. Seeing the commander’s family return, he quickly stood up, gave a brief report on the situation, and then left.
It was noon, and the sun was bright outside.
Qin Jian said to An Hao, "I’ll watch the two kids, you go upstairs and rest for a while!"
After the tension and worry, and such a fight, An Hao must be exhausted; her face already showing signs of weariness.
"I just want to quietly stay with you and the kids now!" After saying this, An Hao showed a gentle smile.
As long as she can be with her husband and children, this is the greatest happiness of her life!
.................................
In an inconspicuous little tavern on the street, An Hui ordered two small dishes and a bottle of white liquor, sitting alone at the table, staring blankly at the outside pouring autumn rain.
The tavern’s door was pushed open once again; An Hui quickly came to his senses, craning his neck to look towards the entrance. Seeing it wasn’t the person he was waiting for, he lowered his head in disappointment.
The guests coming to eat here, they came in and left, back and forth so many times he lost count.
After a long while, he realized the person he was waiting for wouldn’t come, so he withdrew his gaze and asked, "Waiter, what time is it?"
"Almost two. You should hurry and eat, you’re the only ones left at this table, along with another one. Once you finish eating, we’ll be closing soon."
"Okay." An Hui nodded.
He opened the lid of the white liquor, poured himself a full glass, and downed it in one gulp, bottoms up.
It was both choking and spicy, forcing tears from his eyes.
In the blink of an eye, he finished the bottle of liquor, ate a few bites of food haphazardly, and called the waiter for another bottle.
"Sir, you’ll get drunk if you drink more..." the waiter kindly reminded.
"No need for you to worry. Get me the liquor, or I won’t leave if I’m not satisfied!"
The waiter had no choice but to bring him another bottle of Erguotou. An Hui opened it and poured another half glass.
Just as he was about to drink, a shadow suddenly loomed over him.
Looking up, he saw Hou Zicheng already seated stably before him.
"Boss Hou, I finally waited for you. I thought you weren’t coming?" An Hui smiled hazily, casually picking up another glass, poured half a cup of liquor, and handed it to Hou Zicheng with both hands, "I invite you to have a drink!"
Hou Zicheng reached out his chubby hand, picked up the glass of white liquor, smelled it, then put it down again, smiling and shaking his head, "I only drink red wine, not white liquor. Since you’ve waited for me for so long, just say what’s on your mind!"
"Boss Hou, the situation at my house, you should be aware of it, right? I need money now, hoping to get some from you this time!" An Hui said.
"Money?" Hou Zicheng smiled slightly, without hesitation rejecting his request, "I won’t give you any more money. These past days you’ve done nothing and spent quite a bit of my money!"
