CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 80: AMONG THE GROUP, THERE IS ONE WHO IS SKILLED IN SPEECH

From the outside, you couldn’t tell, but once inside, Qin Guanglin realized that the store was quite spacious. Spring clothes were on clearance sale, and the popular summer styles were prominently displayed at the front.

He glanced casually at the tags and sure enough, like He Fang had said, they were ridiculously expensive.

"I told you, they’re super expensive," He Fang said as she casually browsed through the store with him.

There were quite a few people looking around in the store, but not many were buying; it seemed most were like them, just browsing. The sales associates were politely stationed by each clothing rack, ready to answer customer questions, thankfully not clinging and chattering like those at Shengtian Square.

"This one looks nice," Qin Guanglin stopped her, standing in front of a wide-sleeve printed shirt to give it a closer look.

"Just so-so," He Fang glanced and didn’t like it much.

I don’t know where his taste comes from, his grandmother is usually quite stylish.

"Look at the crane on this, so majestic," Qin Guanglin praised, "This stroke, these outlines..."

"This isn’t a painting you’re looking at."

He Fang rolled her eyes and pulled him away. Others looked at the style of the clothes, but he had to look at the prints.

"Hey, hey, you really don’t like it?" Qin Guanglin still looked back at the shirt, thinking the crane looked very lifelike.

"It would make you look like an ancient county magistrate when worn, are you blind?" He Fang mocked.

"Not really?"

"Hmph, I’m warning you, don’t ever buy me clothes without asking me first."

He Fang finally slowed down and looked around again when they moved away from that magistrate-like blue printed shirt.

"Do you like this?" Qin Guanglin noticed she was looking at a chiffon dress with a floral print.

"I had a similar one before, but it got torn when I fell, such a pity," He Fang said regretfully while looking at the dress.

Qin Guanglin picked it up and held it up against her, "It’s elegant, you look good in anything."

"Just looking."

He Fang took it and hung it back on the rack, "Clothes here are expensive, it’s better to buy from a cheaper store."

"If you like it, just buy it." Qin Guanglin didn’t want the trip to be a waste, seeing her interest made him really want to purchase it.

"Did you bring money?" He Fang glanced at him, smiling as she grabbed him and headed outside, "Let’s go, let’s check out other places."

"They accept cards here, hardly anyone pays in cash, right?"

At that moment, Qin Guanglin had a realization, and he pulled her back, reaching to pick up the dress to have it wrapped.

"Aren’t you afraid your wife will find out if you use the card?" He Fang blinked twice, looking at him with a question.

"..."

Qin Guanglin was stumped.

A few nearby people turned their heads upon hearing this, and a sales associate approaching them stopped in her tracks, pretending she hadn’t heard and turning to look elsewhere.

This guy looks so young, who knew he was this shady?

"Let’s go quickly."

He Fang pulled him quickly out of the store, Qin Guanglin still stunned, looking back to see those people still watching them, suddenly feeling choked up with indignation, "How could you do this?!"

"Do what?" He Fang looked up at him, struggling to keep from laughing.

"Don’t give me that look," Qin Guanglin was annoyed, "I don’t have a wife!"

He Fang furrowed her brows, feigning confusion, "You don’t?"

"If I did, it would be you. How could you find out about yourself?" Qin Guanglin pulled her quickly forward, just when things had settled for a few days, this woman started causing trouble again.

How did a perfectly decent young man like him get saddled with such a heavy burden?

"Shameless, I’m only your girlfriend for now," He Fang swung her arms as she walked, unable to suppress a smile curling at the corners of her mouth.

"If you don’t behave, I’m going to kiss you right here," Qin Guanglin deployed his last resort.

There’s always a second time after the first, and that time on Cuihua Mountain he’d tasted sweet success, realizing she had only pretended to be calm; a real kiss in a crowded place would definitely overwhelm her.

"Why were you so rough with him that day?"

"Would you dare?" He Fang wrinkled her nose, and with her other hand, she made a pinching and twisting gesture in front of her eyes, "I won’t go easy on you."

She was really afraid that this fool would try it again; after all, he had a thick skin, and it was exhausting for her to keep pinching. If she pinched too hard, she would feel sorry for him.

"It’s your fault for not being honest first." Qin Guanglin was still thinking about that skirt, now he was too embarrassed to go back.

He Fang didn’t dwell on it anymore, as they had already achieved their goal. The two of them walked far away and then she pointed ahead to change the subject, "Let’s go grab some milk tea."

"Sure."

Qin Guanglin looked back and then let her pull him toward the milk tea shop.

"One cup of kumquat lemon, less ice, less sugar, and one cup of carrot juice," He Fang ordered while pulling out her wallet, "How much?"

"Twenty-five."

"Here you go."

After handing over the money and getting the receipt, they went inside to find seats.

"The first time we met, we had this." Qin Guanglin held the receipt and looked at it, "Are you sizing me up again?"

He Fang put on a serious face and scrutinized him for a moment, then firmly declared, "You’ve got a silly aura."

"I can see that."

Qin Guanglin looked at her seriously, saw her squint her eyes with a threatening expression, then pretended to nod deeply, "You’ve got an air of ’immortal qi’."

"..."

He Fang rolled her eyes at him, "You’re smart."

"Wait till I suck away your ’immortal qi,’ and you’ll turn stupid," Qin Guanglin chuckled mischievously.

"How would you suck it?"

He pursed his lips, "Like this."

"Pervert." He Fang spat and took out her phone to fiddle with it, ignoring him.

Men turn bad too quickly, nowhere near as fun as before.

"Wonder who it is." Qin Guanglin muttered quietly and also took out his phone to play.

In the group chat, Sun Yu and the others were having a lively discussion, doesn’t anyone take a noon break? He flipped through curiously, unsure what they were talking about regarding wealth and comfort.

"What are you guys chatting about? Living comfortably without worries?" he bubbled in the chat.

"When are you coming back to work?" Sun Wen replied.

"Where did you go to play?" Xiao Yu asked.

Qin Guanglin looked up at He Fang, then lowered his head to reply, "The day after tomorrow, I’m enjoying the great landscapes of our country with my girlfriend."

"Roll, dog couple," Xiao Yu replied instantly.

"Come back soon, there’s good news waiting for you," Sun Wen said.

"What good news?" Qin Guanglin was curious.

"You’ll find out when you’re back," Sun Wen mysteriously refused to reveal.

"Lin, check this out; it’s a killer trick," Xiao Yu sent out a short video, "Master this and live without worries, rich for half your life."

Living without worries? Rich for half your life? Qin Guanglin curiously opened the video, which showed only half a face, a hand, and a screw.

"What are you looking at?" He Fang looked up and asked.

Qin Guanglin turned his phone toward her, "Here’s a guy using his tongue to twist a screw; pretty impressive."

"..." He Fang looked disgusted, "That’s lewd, take it away."

"Xiao Yu sent it; I was just curious," Qin Guanglin shrugged and turned his phone back, "He also said mastering it means living without worries."

"Pfft, stay away from them more."
