CHAPTER 400: CHAPTER 400 INTENTIONALLY CAUSING SOMEONE TO BREAK THEIR VOWS
Before Sang Ning could even take a good look at the person’s face, she was already dragged away along with her suitcase, and the words "boyfriend" kept echoing in Sun Bangyu’s ears.
It took a good while for Sun Bangyu’s sluggish brain to finally reconnect, her eyes slowly widened with difficulty as she tried to digest this unbelievable fact.
Sang Ning is actually in a relationship!
Aside from her widened eyes, Sun Bangyu’s face didn’t show any overly excited emotions, but in reality, her heart was already beating chaotically. How could she be the only one privy to such an explosive piece of gossip?
After all, this was Sang Ning’s personal life. Since she hadn’t mentioned it, it wouldn’t be appropriate for Sun Bangyu to spread it around. She decided not to tell the other two roommates and planned to process it on her own.
While still digesting her shock, someone suddenly patted her from behind, startling her to the point where her shoulders tensed up—almost making her jump on the spot.
"Do you know who that person is?" Sun Bangyu turned around and saw Qin Feng. He was asking her, though his gaze had drifted toward the direction Sang Ning had walked off.
Despite training together for so long, Sun Bangyu and Qin Feng hadn’t grown close enough to casually chat about gossip in private.
Sun Bangyu suppressed her look of shock, shook her head at Qin Feng, and picked up her suitcase to leave.
Faced with Sun Bangyu’s excessively cold attitude, Qin Feng didn’t seem to mind. Just as she was placing her suitcase into the luggage compartment, he casually remarked, "Quiet as a clam."
The comment still didn’t elicit any response from Sun Bangyu, and Qin Feng’s attention naturally shifted away from her. Instead, he leaned forward, gazing into the distance, hoping to catch a clearer view of the man with Sang Ning—something about him felt oddly familiar.
But even as the car drove away, he couldn’t see the man’s face clearly, so he reluctantly gave up.
In the car.
As soon as Sang Ning fastened her seatbelt, Li Juezhou handed her a delicately packaged bag.
"What’s this?" Sang Ning asked as she opened the bag. Upon taking a closer look, she found four cups of milk tea inside.
Li Juezhou had already started the car. Though his eyes were focused forward, he could feel Sang Ning’s gaze on him through his peripheral vision. "I wasn’t sure what you’d like, so I bought all the flavors you like," he said.
Such a waste!
Sang Ning wanted to voice her complaint but refrained from doing so—after all, Li Juezhou had meant well.
Sang Ning eyed the milk tea in the bag, swallowing hard before ultimately deciding to close the insulated bag tightly.
Milk tea was delicious, but with the filming about to start, maintaining professional discipline was paramount. This was definitely not the time to indulge.
Noticing what she was doing, Li Juezhou glanced at her sideways. "Why aren’t you drinking? Didn’t you cry over wanting milk tea back at the training camp?"
Sang Ning, in the middle of carefully sealing the insulation bag, froze for a second upon hearing this. A quick flashback popped into her head, and her lips twitched slightly as her face instantly turned awkward. "Do you have surveillance cameras on me or something?" she asked.
She had indeed cried once during the camp, though it was done secretly when no one was around.
The training camp had been one of the toughest challenges Sang Ning had faced in her life. Though she wasn’t particularly indulgent when it came to food, she couldn’t handle eating vegetarian meals day after day. The dietary restrictions in the entertainment industry were absurdly strict.
Even as she considered herself disciplined and capable of enduring hardship, for the first time, she had broken down and shed tears – unable to cope with the hunger and unappetizing meals.
She didn’t cry for long, though. After a few minutes of venting her emotions in a corner of the sports field, she quickly composed herself and left.
Li Juezhou kept glancing at Sang Ning, noting how her expression shifted from embarrassment to slight irritation. Unable to hold back, he chuckled softly. "It’s okay, only I saw. Your image as the ’cool and aloof’ type is intact."
Sang Ning leaned closer to Li Juezhou, glaring at him, her eyes as intense as if she wanted to pierce through his face. "Don’t change the subject. You haven’t answered me. Tell me—did you plant surveillance on me or not?"
Li Juezhou raised a hand, pretending to surrender. "The cameras were installed by the production crew. They have nothing to do with me. I’m just a lovesick fool missing his girlfriend, with nothing better to do than watching surveillance footage every day."
His mock-sorrowful complaint was dripping with teasing undertones, causing Sang Ning’s tone to soften unconsciously. "You’re not serious, are you? You really spent every day staring at those cameras?"
"What else could I do? Didn’t you say not to bother you during training?"
Sang Ning froze at that response—she hadn’t expected Li Juezhou to take her words so seriously.
When Sang Ning didn’t reply, Li Juezhou leaned closer with a grin. "If you feel guilty about it, why not reward me?"
"You’re driving! Focus, will you?" Sang Ning scolded him with mild irritation, lightly patting his arm. Seeing that he wasn’t planning to pull away, she leaned over and swiftly brushed her lips against his cheek in an almost dismissive kiss.
Though it was merely a fleeting graze, Li Juezhou looked quite satisfied, his lips curling into a content smile as he returned his focus to the road.
"I know you’ve got money, but wasting resources isn’t okay! Even a buffalo couldn’t drink four cups of milk tea. This better not happen again!" Sang Ning couldn’t help lecturing him. Waste was unacceptable, and she wouldn’t tolerate such behavior.
Although Sang Ning had resealed the insulation bag, her fingers lingered on the closure. Li Juezhou glanced her way and said enticingly, "One sip won’t hurt, right? Just take one—don’t worry, I won’t tell Director Qin."
With a rip, Sang Ning tore open the sealed bag again. After scrutinizing the contents, she grabbed a cup filled with cheese milk foam and plunged a straw into it decisively.
Hearing the sound of the straw being inserted, Li Juezhou thought she had caved to temptation. But then, he felt the chill of the cup against his lips. Glancing down, he saw the milk tea hovering near his mouth. His gaze shifted to Sang Ning, who was now smiling mischievously.
"I can’t break my streak until filming ends, boyfriend. You drink it for me—I’ll feel full just watching you."
Sang Ning placed the remaining cups on the back seat, held the milk tea with both hands, and looked at Li Juezhou with bright, curved eyes. The sharp edge to her usual demeanor had softened, her tender posture accented by wisps of hair falling over her forehead. "I know it’s inconvenient while driving, so let me assist you."
Li Juezhou knew she was deliberately teasing him but couldn’t help but feel moved. Though his lips twitched tightly for a moment, he ultimately submitted, biting down on the straw and reluctantly taking a small sip.
The rich, sugary flavor exploded in his mouth, triggering a slight spasm in his stomach. Li Juezhou had always detested sweets, and milk tea was his nemesis.
Watching Li Juezhou purse his lips, visibly holding back the urge to spit it out, Sang Ning finally felt vindicated. "Let’s see if you dare tempt me to break my streak again!"
Once the sickening sensation subsided, Li Juezhou’s expression returned to normal. "Sangsang, I want more. Feed me."
