CHAPTER 64: SYSDI 64: THE VALREPITE MANOR 3

Evan shot up to sit on his bed instead. He has access to a fast travel in this place. It just meant that he can go to the stone hill cave to finish all of the things he needed to deal there.

When he is done, be can just go back here using fast travel once again. It is truly that easy!

He hums in thought. Would that make car travel for him in the future useless? He still has no idea what he needs to do just to have access, however.

’You laid on the bed properly.’ Iva says, as if it is answering Evan’s unvoiced question.

Come to think of it, Evan saw that there are only two options that he had seen. Once of them was his home with his parents. He haven’t tried it before, but he thinks that he would just be reappearing inside his bedroom.

The other one was the Lake of Boon. While that wasn’t a place that he slept in, that was were Evan did a little rest.

The common ground over the fast travel one was a place to rest.

Evan nods his head. "That makes sense. I have a way to get and back with no issues. There’s no need to worry when the time comes then."

He takes a deep breath. There is still the tiredness in his body from the long travel they did in the nauseating car, but the excitement he felt couldn’t be contained.

So, Evan decided that it is time to see what the blank books had in store for him.

"Status. Item inventory." Evan says, so he can see the list of items he has.

He had plenty of the books that Iva wanted to get. He’s not even sure if Iva could access the book from his inventory but he didn’t focus on those yet.

His attention was on the blank, blue book that he took first. He takes it, as well as the other three books that Iva had found for him.

There are two blue blank books, one white book and a red book. Evan has only seen one green before. Is there a reason for their colors?

He opens the first book got, turns it around to make sure that it is blank, before he opens the book.

Extra Ability Book: Cascade

- Ability: Cascade

- Description: Control existing water to flow down from a high point of the ability user’s choice, as if it came from a waterfall, or waves to the shore from the ocean or sea. Can be effective to sweep creatures away or throw creatures off balance.

- Requirements: Must visually choose a point where it will begin flowing. Hand must point from the nearby source of water and then moving to the point chosen beforehand. Uses 5 mana points

- Can be used multiple times for a stacked effect depending on level. (Currently limited to 3 stacks)

Would you like to learn ability?

[Yes] [No]

Evan’s eyes widened at the ridiculous looking ability that he can see before him. Five mana points? It is expensive that he can’t even do that as of this moment.

"Ouch." He mutters to himself. "It needs a source of water so it’s not a creation of water like what dad has. It still is water though..."

He felt conflicted. There is a part of him that thinks it is good to have this because he could just hope to level up enough to be able to use Cascade once and just let everyone know he has an elemental ability he is too weak for as of yet.

The requirements is painfully high, but he has no choice. He’ll take it for now.

"Yes." He responds.

Just like before. The same feeling of knowledge pours directly in his brain. He had to close his eyes for a brief moment.

When he opens them back, the book is nowhere to be found and he knew he has learned the new ability.

Evan stares at the other three books in his lap. He wonders what awaits him.

Taking the second blue book, he turns it around just like he did for the first blue book. Then, he opens it, eager to find out what he will get.

Extra Ability Book: Blast

- Ability: Blast

- Description: Blows hot, strong wind away or towards the ability user. The air blown is always at least lukewarm, hot or very hot, depending on location. More effective in open fields, less effective against water or cold locations.

- Requirements: Must have hands placed from the chest to move outward towards target to push away or hands stretched outward and pulled towards chest to pull towards ability user. May not work underwater. Uses 5 mana points.

- Can be used multiple times for a stacked effect depending on level. (Currently limited to 3 stacks)

Cannot learn ability.

Level 15 required for extra abilities slots.

----- ----- -----

"There’s a limit on how many I can learn?" Evan mutters to himself.

This is the first time he is learning about this. If he had known, he would’ve learned this Blast ability than the Cascade ability one. This ability seems like a better option even if they both cost the same.

Especially the feature where he can push or pull. The Cascade ability can only push. That seems like a bad deal. Then again, the Blast ability only has hot air. That means that it would probably be difficult to use if it colder right?

Would using the Cascade ability on winter means that it would be ineffective too because the water will be frozen? Or would that mean that he can use it too with ice itself like an avalanche?

Evan raised an eyebrow at that. Though it seems like a good question, it seems like that wouldn’t be how it works. The Cascade ability has water as a requirement after all, not ice.

He sighs. Looks like he really needs to level up quick. He knows he is currently level 11 at the moment. If he continues to explore the stone hill cave until before the Entrance Exams, surely, that would be enough to reach level 15.

That is, at least, Evan’s hope.
