Chapter 397: Chapter 391: The Unlucky 6-Armed Snake Demon

To avoid being disturbed by the omnipresent demons in Pazuniya, Leon found a rocky mountain without any Flo Demons inhabiting it, dug a hole, and hid inside.

This reminded him of his life as a baby dragon, and he suddenly thought about digging a network of tunnels on the Volcanic Island when he returned… Salovis’s lair was built inside a cave, so he could just visit her lair instead of going through all that trouble.

Leon now had an exceptional memory. Before traversing, he couldn’t memorize a hundred English words after a whole day’s effort and often forgot them all by the next day. Now, he could memorize things flawlessly after just one look. What remained was the practice of actual application, which required constant communication to improve—mastering spoken language wasn’t something that could be achieved by merely reading books.

In any case, Leon now could listen, speak, and write in Abyss Language, ready to go out and explore.

Leon left the cave where he’d stayed for several days, spread his wings, and flew higher and higher, suddenly thinking of the Sky Lord of the Bottomless Abyss, Pazuzu.

Pazuzu had always ruled the skies of Pazuniya, eager to seek out new innocent and pure beings to corrupt and ultimately destroy. When lawful good characters traveled in Pazuniya, there was a daily chance of attracting his attention.

Leon certainly wasn’t of the lawful good alignment, and even if he were, he wouldn’t fear Pazuzu. He snapped out of his thoughts, focused on the task at hand, and looked down at Pazuniya, searching for his next destination.

From high above, it wasn’t difficult to spot the many massive pits in Pazuniya that extended into the deeper, more terrifying layers.

These pits were entrances to Teleportation Gates leading to deeper layers of the Bottomless Abyss. Those who jumped into them quickly found themselves on the connected layer. Most pits acted as two-way portals, but quite a few were one-way only, offering no return.

The majestic Steel Fortress squatted at the edge of a massive pit. The ruins of the Obelis Demon were now occupied by powerful Tanari Lords, who hadn’t yet amassed enough power to subjugate a layer to their will.

Leon saw the Nether River, its waters flowing endlessly across the Plain of Ten Thousand Abysses, dispersing into countless tributaries, and ultimately vanishing into various pits leading straight to deeper layers of the Bottomless Abyss.

His gaze was drawn to the massive Molten Iron Lake, a steaming natural Melting Furnace that provided iron for most armaments and all fortresses in Pazuniya, making the area around it one of the most fiercely contested regions on this layer.

Such a place would surely be guarded by a Marilith, Leon thought, as he flew towards the Molten Iron Lake.

Non-demons were easily attacked in the Bottomless Abyss. In fact, even demons could be easily attacked. Fortunately, Leon was currently in a fully armed Dragon-man form, appearing quite powerful in the air, so only a few exceptionally foolish Flo Demons dared to emerge. They were killed in passing, and he encountered no real interference along the way.

Approaching the Molten Iron Lake, Leon spotted an abandoned small town inhabited by swarms of Magma Mephits, with almost no demons living there. He swiftly flew over the abandoned town, landing inside the Steel Fortress on the opposite side.

“Who are you?” a menacing Enchanting Demon spotted Leon.

“Is there a Marilith here?” Leon hovered mid-air.

Not all demons were fools; their main problem was chaos. The Enchanting Demon was quite intelligent and could see that Leon was unusual, asking, “What do you want with a Marilith?”

“Why are you talking so much? Just answer what I ask you.” As Leon swooped down, he activated Gathering Form and Scattering Energy, appearing behind the Enchanting Demon in a flash, slicing off one of its pincers with a single strike, then dragged it down, stepping on its head. “Now will you talk?”

“Okay, okay, I’ll tell you.” The Enchanting Demon said, but it wouldn’t submit so easily. Seeing Leon relax his vigilance, it opened its mouth to cast a Command Shock.

Leon wasn’t an ordinary person but a human form of a giant dragon, so Command Shock was ineffective against him.

“I thought you were smart?” Leon smiled at the Enchanting Demon, thrusting his sword.

Killing an Enchanting Demon was easier than killing a Judgement Demon. After killing it, Leon went on a killing spree in the Steel Fortress. Chaotic and evil demons were worthless and killed without hesitation until a massive Goristro, with unmatched momentum, charged out.

The Goristro was about the height of a giant, categorized as a giant demon, resembling a demonic Minotaur, often used as siege machines by Demon Lords or living cherished lives as pets, its challenge level on par with a mature Red Dragon.

In his current human form, Leon found it troublesome to deal with the Goristro, mainly because if the Goristro showed up, but the Marilith didn’t, she probably wasn’t there, leading him to decide not to entangle with the Goristro, decisively leaping up and flapping his wings to fly away.

Leon circled around the Molten Iron Lake and finally found a Marilith. The Marilith had an upper body resembling a six-armed humanoid female, each of the six arms wielding vicious blades, and her lower body was a large serpent. She was leading a demon army, apparently preparing for something.

As a high-ranking demon, the Marilith naturally possessed True Vision. Leon didn’t want to kill her yet, or expose his identity, and decided to use 72 Transformations.

Even with True Vision, it wasn’t easy to see through the 72 Transformations, unless one had exceptional strength or special means. Leon transformed into an Old Green Dragon and landed in front of the Marilith.

The Marilith’s challenge level was 16 and was especially known for its formidable attack power. An untransformed Old Green Dragon couldn’t withstand it, and if Leon transformed into a Transformed Ancient Black Dragon, the Marilith would surely flee faster than anyone. The Marilith had keen intelligence and seasoned strategic thinking and was definitely open to strategic retreat.

“Green Dragon, what are you here for?” The Marilith stopped immediately upon seeing the Red Dragon.

“Of course, I’m here to kill you.” Leon said, opening his mouth and unleashing a green Poison Breath.

Thus, Leon’s transformed Old Green Dragon engaged in combat with the Marilith.

Through this battle, Leon gradually learned how to use six arms against a giant dragon.

Without any professional skills, a standard Old Green Dragon couldn’t match a Marilith. Noticing his Life Points were seriously injured, Leon decisively flapped his wings and flew up; the Marilith couldn’t hold him back—he was just bullying her inability to fly—and vanished into the sky.

Still feeling a bit unclear about certain aspects, Leon transformed into a Mature Blue Dragon and sought out the Marilith again, this time trying a different attack method.

Leon felt his combat skills continually improving, while the Marilith nearly went mad. She encountered an Old Green Dragon, a Mature Blue Dragon, and an Adult Golden Dragon, all of which she fought off. Where in the Bottomless Abyss did these Fire Giants come from, and where did those Cloud Giants emerge, and finally, what was that Giant Fusion Monster…

“Hey, hey, hey, don’t die… If you die, where am I going to find another Marilith to fight with me?” Leon never expected that the Marilith couldn’t put up much of a fight—he had clearly held back.

The Marilith was coughing up blood.

Leon spared the Marilith, hoping she would recover, but the Marilith ended up dead, with her own deputy, a Judgement Demon, finishing her off just as Leon was walking away.
