Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might
Chapter 400: 394 Next Step
Chapter 400: Chapter 394 Next Step
Transforming into various creatures to attack the Marilith, Leon has been learning the Marilith’s swordsmanship for some time. It’s not enough to learn by just observing; practical experience is a must. Leon eagerly wants to verify his learning outcomes, flexes his shoulders, and activates the Three-headed Six-armed Dharma Body.
Clearly the embodiment of demonic wrath and hatred, who could have imagined that the Balor would retreat? It’s all because that one Red Dragon is too terrifying, even in a place like the Bottomless Abyss, such a creature is rarely seen.
Meanwhile, the Marilith looked at the Three-headed Six-armed Red Dragon and inexplicably felt some inferiority, as her proud six arms seemed laughable before the dragon’s three heads and six arms.
“My name is Leon.” Leon completely disregarded the Balor and Marilith, he stuck out his tongue at Balatezo, “I don’t know you, do you know me?”
A Red Dragon using weapons? Who else but that guy? A few years ago in the Bottomless Abyss, he was quite famous, scaring a Judgement Demon into never daring to enter the Material Plane again. Balatezo squinted, cautiously probing, “Cliff Sword, Wind Disaster…”
“Correct answer.” Leon raised his sword, “Ready to receive your reward?”
“Wait.” Balatezo raised his hand, “Can I surrender? No, can I submit to you?”
“And then agree that it can be revoked, right?” Leon was not foolish enough to believe the demon, he quipped, “Only chaotic evil demons like yourself would do such a thing, lacking in integrity, lacking in principles.”
“My boss is Flaz Erro, if you kill me, he definitely won’t let you go.” Balatezo begged in vain, baring his teeth in threat.
Demons that are summoned by magic from the Bottomless Abyss will return unscathed to the Bottomless Abyss when the spell ends or the demon is destroyed, thus those summoned to the Main Material Plane are almost fearless.
But if a demon is killed in the Bottomless Abyss, it is utterly destroyed—body and essence included. Therefore, many demons are far more cautious when in the Abyss compared to wreaking havoc in other planes, albeit many powerful Demon Lords have various means of resurrection.
“Flaz Erro?” Leon did not recognize Balatezo but did recognize Flaz Erro.
All demons are deceivers, and the Illusion Demon King Flaz Erro is called the Lord of Deception among demons. He excels in using cunning and various demonic tricks to manipulate, leading those who oppose him—be they mortals or evil demons—into his traps, unwittingly carrying out actions as per his design.
No wonder there would be an ambush, a tactic rarely seen in demon operations, a technique patented by devils.
“Yes, exactly Flaz Erro.” Balatezo emphasized.
“And so what?” Leon felt the chat was slightly long-winded, ceased talking and launched an attack.
On the Blood War battlefield, the former Lord of Aphnas under the Evil Dragon Queen Tiamat’s command had Ancient Red Dragons less formidable than this… As a retired General from the Blood War battlefield, Balatezo knew well when to run, used Teleportation skillfully.
The Balor slightly bent down, crouched, and leapt violently, flying off into the distance.
The poor Marilith could not fly; watching her colleagues flee quickly, just as she was about to teleport, the Red Dragon’s sword had already swung over.
The Marilith merely looked like a humanoid female; humanoid females are not all girls, most are demons. Leon never hesitates against demons; his sword’s speed was incredibly fast, employing all the battle techniques learned from the Marilith against her, using the enemy’s long sword to control them, and quickly besting the Marilith.
Mariliths are large demons, appearing as mere snakes before an Ultra-Giant Red Dragon like an adult facing a small snake.
With a combo move, three bites, six longsword attacks, and one tail strike were not something it could withstand, not to mention she was already injured under the Kraken’s attacks.
Leon defeated the Marilith, looking up, the Balor had already flown far away, burning wings frantically flapping, combined with Teleportation running really fast, he swung his sword to launch the Long Rainbow Escape, transforming into a rainbow light.
Fortunately, there was a Marilith as a shield, giving the opportunity to escape, with such a long distance, presumably that Red Dragon couldn’t catch up. The Balor breathed a sigh of relief, turned to see where the Red Dragon was now; surprisingly, the Red Dragon wasn’t in the original place, while wondering, he felt like crashing into a wall.
The Balor turned around to see he had crashed into the Red Dragon.
Balors are giant demons, but before an Ultra-Giant Red Dragon, they are like little ones swaggering in front of adults.
Leon didn’t attack immediately, allowing the Balor to escape a certain distance, flapped his wings to blow out the Sanmei Divine Wind, twisting the Balor’s fiery form in the mad wind.
The Balor could surprisingly withstand a Sanmei Divine Wind from him, truly remarkable; Leon hesitated not at all, decisively threw his sword, the sword blade pierced through the Balor’s chest with unstoppable force, nailing it fiercely into the ground from high above, creating a large crater.
Leon methodically threw swords, the remaining five swords in his hand, until the explosion sound of Body Burning Bomb echoed, he waved to recall his weapons.
There’s still one more.
Leon hovered in the air, looking around, saw a chaotic demon army nearly starting to fight amongst themselves, and Balatezo stood in the middle of that demon army, saying something unknown, surrounded by a group of Judgement Demons, Enchanting Demons, Fierce Battle Demons… surprisingly there was a Succubus too.
Long Rainbow Escape is a good spell.
Leon activated Long Rainbow Escape once more, appeared in front of Balatezo, ignored the disorganized demons, swung his sword to slash… he disdained using Sanmei Divine Wind or Soul Summoning Mantra, as soon as he unleashed Fierce Gods and Evil Spirits, few demons could stay standing, and while attacking Balatezo he could conveniently AOE dead a bunch of demons.
Balatezo’s boss, the Demon Lord Flaz Erro’s Challenge Level is merely 23, were he in his lair, in Zola Gomorok City, his Challenge Level would even rise to 24—not even a match for the Flame Divine Successor, much less for Leon, let alone Balatezo.
Yet Balatezo is after all a Demon Lord, though a Secondary Demon Lord, Leon still expended some energy, nearly let him escape… mainly because he wasn’t convenient to use Samadhi True Fire and Sanmei Divine Wind, since once those spells were utilized, there’s no point considering loot.
“Weren’t you just very fierce?”
After killing Balatezo, that demon army disbanded immediately, Leon couldn’t be bothered to chase, even he couldn’t kill cleanly the demons scattered and fleeing like stars in the sky, focused on collecting usable alchemy materials and sword casting materials from Balatezo’s body.
As a Secondary Demon Lord, Balatezo must have had a Steel Fortress.
Leon didn’t forget to catch a Judgement Demon, press for Balatezo’s controlled Steel Fortress, then rushed towards the Steel Fortress at the deep pit’s cliff, burn, kill, loot while embodying the Red Dragon’s demeanor… speaking of which, black eats black, burn, kill, loot the demons of chaotic evil in the Bottomless Abyss, it’s debatable whether it’s bad or good.
After seizing the Steel Fortress, Leon was content and pondered his next move.
Just the blood of one Secondary Demon Lord wasn’t enough for him to refine and rebuild the Divine Sword.
Leon remembered Tassera once mentioned that after losing Zareel’s Sword, Zarriel forged a divine artifact called Avernus Blade, using the blood of powerful Celestial Creatures, Demon Lords, and Devil Dukes to quench it, though he didn’t plan to collect those things just yet.
Leon didn’t transform into various creatures again to disturb the Marilith, giving the Mariliths in Pazuniya a temporary sigh of relief, now it’s other demons’ turn for misfortune. He plans to transform into a Marilith and practice swordsmanship further by slashing a thousand demons or so… that wouldn’t suffice.
Once the swordsmanship practice is sufficient, it’s about time to cause trouble for those Demon Lords and Great Devils—that’s what you call sharpening the knife without delaying the chopping task.
