Chapter 416: Chapter 410: Arriving Home

Leon didn’t know how long he had been sleeping, but he awoke leisurely, his mind clearer than ever before.

Ever since he underwent Bone Shedding and Rebirth and acquired Extraordinary Essence, fatigue and hunger were no longer relevant to him. Nowadays, sleep and meals are purely for enjoyment rather than necessity, much like how no one can resist a feast or the comfort of a winter’s nap.

Leon waved his hand, and a rift appeared out of thin air. He reached inside and retrieved the Plane Talisman. The lustrous glow indicated it was fully charged and ready for use at any moment. However, he only toyed with it briefly before putting it away.

Compared to returning, when he could go back anytime, he wasn’t particularly inclined to do so. He was more interested in figuring out where he had been accidentally teleported to. Was it some corner of this plane or another plane altogether? With his current power, he had no concerns about safety, regardless of which plane he found himself in.

Spreading his wings and soaring into the air, Leon surveyed the land below him and easily spotted a peaceful town nestled by a meandering river. He landed outside the town and transformed into his human form, becoming a young man with black hair and eyes full of allure.

After some inquiries, Leon wasn’t sure whether to consider himself lucky or unlucky.

He hadn’t been teleported to a chaotic plane; he returned to the same plane he’d always inhabited, just within Empire territory, a fair distance from his Zhen Dan Kingdom.

Having visited the Star Realm, Bottomless Abyss, and Nine Prisons, rested upon the corpse of a deceased deity, and raced across Aphnas’s wasteland in a Devil’s Vehicle, his horizon had vastly expanded. To his eyes, the Mortal World had lost its charm, and the Empire felt the same—as though someone returning from a bustling metropolis now sees their hometown as rather dull and unremarkable.

Nevertheless, Leon was still quite interested in wandering around, drinking beer at the lakeside town, and savoring delicacies at Saran Castle not too far away.

He quite liked Saran Castle; the mountain town was remarkably unique, built to nestle against the mountainside with connected houses. The roof of one house might serve as the courtyard of the next, providing a tiered, stacked view from afar. You could walk from the foot of the mountain all the way to the top along its winding lightning-like streets.

After staying in Saran Castle for two days, Leon felt his mood had greatly improved, the influence of the Abyss’s decay nearly completely faded. He then turned into a rainbow, streaking across the sky, and returned to his Zhen Dan Kingdom, landing in the lively plaza of Watchtower Port.

Vendors shouted, sailors barked orders, seagulls cried…

Human fishermen, Dwarf blacksmiths, Hobgoblin hunters, Orc laborers…

Why does it feel like Watchtower Port hasn’t changed at all?

Leon suddenly realized that he had only been away a few months. How could such a short span lead to any significant changes?

He had experienced so many things in those few months away that it created an illusion. He chuckled at the thought, tapped his foot, and once again transformed into a rainbow to appear on the viewing platform of Flame Island.

Salovis, as usual, occupied his Molten Lava Pool to sleep.

Leon’s gaze moved from Salovis to the Molten Lava Pool and then directed towards the castle beside it.

Once a favor he asked of the Brass Dragon to meticulously construct his castle—considering his incredible growth rate, ample space for continuation was reserved—his Bone Shedding and Rebirth had triggered a significant growth spurt, making the castle a bit cramped for him, though Salovis stayed longer, making it seem more like her castle.

According to normal growth cycles, he would’ve needed centuries to reach colossal size, but he skipped centuries in growth, leaving the castle less habitable. Is that a happy dilemma?

Leon walked to Salovis’s large head resting by the Molten Lava Pool, noting her small nostrils expanded and contracted with her breathing. Occasionally, she’d sniff, prompting him to playfully poke her nose with a finger.

He thought Salovis wouldn’t wake easily, but unexpectedly, she woke upon contact, sneezed, and shook her head as she stood up, viscous molten lava sliding off, revealing glossy red scales… still not as beautiful as his scales.

“Who dares to tease the mighty Cliff Sword, Wind Disaster, Wind of Annihilation, Zhen Dan King’s….sister?” Salovis roared furiously, noticing Leon’s peculiar gaze upon her, and suddenly pounced forward like a puppy, even wagging her tail, “Ah, brother, you’re finally back. I’ve missed you so much.”

“Stay away from me,” Leon said in disgust as he pushed Salovis’s head away. How did his sister become a comedic character?

Years of interaction helped Salovis become familiar with Leon’s temperament; he seemed to prefer softness over toughness. She blinked her eyes and deliberately spoke in a sweet, syrupy voice, “Let me just lick you lightly.”

Leon was accustomed to adapting to local customs. When in the Bottomless Abyss and Nine Prisons, he liked to move in a demon-like form as a half-dragon, but back in the Material Plane, the half-dragon form seemed odd, and he preferred human form.

In human form, he was no match for Salovis’s strength, so he could only use Gathering Form and Scattering Energy to evade, saying, “Don’t be so disgusting… enough, keep messing around, and I’ll get upset.”

“You stingy,” Salovis bared her teeth, then asked curiously, “Brother, where did you go after leaving the Star Realm for so long?”

“You don’t know?” Leon was somewhat surprised, thinking his “achievements” in the Nine Prisons had already spread widely. Judging by how he hadn’t slept much after returning to the Material Plane.

“Why should I know?” Salovis squinted her eyes.

“I remember you worship our great Majesty…” Leon said, his tone about Tiamat changed.

“Sure, I worship her!” Salovis said, “I pray every day for her blessing, to earn big money and great fortune.”

Leon crossed his arms and said with amusement, “I don’t believe in her but still offered her a Gold Coin. Despite claiming your belief in her, you wouldn’t spare even one Gold Coin.”

Salovis snorted, insisting with righteous fervor, “She’s not blessing me with wealth.”

“Your savings are dozens of times that of a Red Dragon your age,” Leon speculated.

“That’s all earned by my own skill,” Salovis proudly raised her chin, “has nothing to do with Her.”

“Say it again, whose skill?” Leon raised an eyebrow.

Salovis grinned cheekily, “Of course, it’s my brother’s skill.”

Watching his sister, Leon felt gratified. It seemed his education over the years had been quite effective.

“Why did you mention Majesty, brother?” Salovis realized, “Did you meet Her?”

“Greeted from afar,” Leon finally couldn’t resist but told of his “military achievements” on the Blood War Battlefield, indulging in a grand show-off.

For credibility, he didn’t exaggerate like all Red Dragons — Red Dragons loved face and bragging — he even deliberately restrained his description, yet still got accused of bragging by Salovis, leaving him helplessly to shrug his shoulders.

He couldn’t perform live, the Sanmei Divine Wind he could show, Fatian Xiangdi would probably wreck half of the Volcanic Island.

Leon’s queen is Tassera, accompanied her on the first day of his return.

Spending a whole day with boiling vigor, Leon stayed at Cecilia’s lair the second day.

As a Green Dragon, Cecilia was fairly crafty, resting on Leon’s arm, and said, “You’re so strong, with Majesty’s personality, She certainly wouldn’t let you go.”

“How could She not let me go?” Leon was unfazed, “I’m really not afraid of Her now.”

“Why are you always thinking of fighting?” Cecilia turned over, lying on Leon’s chest, “It’s said Her human form is a Mulan-origin human witch, with long dark hair, wearing a dark gown, full of bizarre beauty, an alluring smile, utterly black eyes…”

“I would absolutely not be a kept man,” Leon vowed.

“I believe…” Cecilia understood Leon’s possessive nature thoroughly, suddenly pouting, murmuring, “She must’ve done something, but why didn’t She grant me any gift like last time to awaken my bloodline and tempt you into Her camp.”

“People shouldn’t make the same mistake twice, let alone a god,” Leon said, “It’s clear She doesn’t trust you; only eats without work, Green Dragon.”

After a night in Cecilia’s lair, Leon spent it at Fiora’s nest.

Brass Dragons liked to nest in caves accessible only through water, yet their nests were always dry, with tide-covered lower zones and upper zones dry year-round.

Leon wasn’t a Mortal World creature now, absolutely free from exhaustion; the small Brass Dragon was nothing to him, even not noticing today’s Brass Dragon was a tad different.

As for Isily’s three-day insomnia, that was another story.
