Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might
Chapter 418: 412: Your Majesty Misjudges Me
Chapter 418: Chapter 412: Your Majesty Misjudges Me
The Divine Sword cannot be forced.
Rather than spending a fortune crafting one, it’s better to invest in alchemy. Besides, the Volcanic Island only needs a little more time to upgrade to a Cave Heaven Blessed Land, and in the future to a Heavenly Realm. Who knows how many resources will be needed, there are too many places to spend money, saving where one can is wise.
Of course, if it were just to craft a legendary weapon, although not cheap, Leon’s wealth could still bear the cost. Moreover, he already has a Fine Gold Greatsword as a base, now only needing to recast it, which saves a lot of material cost. With the Golden Finger, he has mastered Sword Casting Skill, saving handcrafting costs as well.
Leon immediately got to work, pouring all the weapons and equipment he had acquired from the Bottomless Abyss and Aphnas into the Melting Furnace, smelting the necessary metal ingots… Even those weapons accumulated in the past that were no longer needed could be completely smelted.
The Hell Iron from Aphnas can be used to craft the Ever-burning Blade, the Cold Iron taken from the Bottomless Abyss can be used to craft the Frozen Sword, and Kraken’s blood can quench the Lightning Sword… Mastering Sword Casting Skill is convenient, allowing experimentation as one wishes.
Leon’s idea is simple: to craft several swords with different additional damage, targeting enemies with various immunities. Although the main damage of the sword comes from slashing, those random additional damages aren’t too high, but something is better than nothing.
Leon was unaware that just as he began his work, a Black Dragon arrived at Watchtower Port, named Laksha, and at that moment transformed into a Half-Elf girl.
Laksha walked down the street, her steps light and the ebony, waterfall-like hair rippling slightly with her steps, the strands shimmering like satin in the sunlight.
Upon closer look, she had ivory, lustrous skin, a delicate face, slightly upturned almond eyes sparkling with liveliness, a high and straight nose, and lips clearly outlined. When not smiling, her face held a hint of sharpness, and when the corners of her mouth lifted, it revealed a captivating charm.
Clothes make the man; even the prettiest girl struggles in a gaudy, floral quilted jacket.
Laksha’s fashion sense matched her looks, wearing a well-tailored black dress, the perfect V-neck exposing a slender collarbone, with white, clean wrists beneath the long, lantern sleeves. A matching slender belt cinched her waist, accentuating her voluptuous bust and slender waist.
Passersby on the street couldn’t help but cast glances, but immediately averted their eyes upon meeting her gaze; she was breathtakingly beautiful, almost making one afraid to look directly, especially young girls who felt inferior and instinctively avoided her.
Laksha slightly lifted her chin, evidently accustomed to this reaction, and then elegantly entered a seaside cafe, sitting by the window.
As a Black Dragon skilled in magic, Laksha could undoubtedly cast a charm on humans or make friends quickly and easily manipulate people, but she didn’t need to—her existence was the most powerful allure, one glance or even a casual question sufficed for the effect of a spell.
Indeed, the waiter was forthcoming before her, eager to share everything he knew.
Laksha listened nonchalantly, her fingers gently tapping the table, occasionally nodding, mentally sifting through the truth of the information. When satisfied, she waved the waiter off, then crossed her arms, lazily leaning into the chair back, fingers gently tapping her arm, contemplating her next move.
First, with her allure, that Red Dragon would undoubtedly be drawn to her like a bear to honey, despite being surrounded by three poor Mother Dragons, a Blue Dragon, a Green Dragon, and a bronze dragon.
Laksha was confident that once she appeared before the Red Dragon, his eyes would see no other… Speaking of a Red Dragon King who could slay the Flame Divine Successor and single-handedly annihilate hundreds of Fire Giants, even if slightly exaggerated, was worthy of being her mate.
Thinking of this, Laksha slightly curled her lips, raised her hand to cover her mouth, and let out a low, soft laugh.
Laksha didn’t linger at Watchtower Port for long, quickly finding a deserted spot where her form twisted and expanded, restoring her Dragon Form, her wings suddenly unfurled, soaring into the sky towards the Volcanic Island.
As more dragons flocked under Leon, the Emerald Corridor, once governed by the Old Green Dragon Slankus, was now jointly managed by Terar and Laisone, with other territories overseen by Tassera’s cousins, allowing Cecilia to finally stay by Leon’s side, commuting daily between Watchtower Port and the Volcanic Island.
The government building of Watchtower Port, built only a few years ago, had already become the operational core of the entire city.
This magnificent building housed most of Watchtower Port’s administrative departments, with the first floor serving as a public services center and other floors being office spaces. As Prime Minister, Cecilia naturally had a spacious office.
Cecilia stood by the window, gazing at the bustling port and distant sea, suddenly noticing an unfamiliar Black Dragon rising into the air from Watchtower Port, heading towards the Volcanic Island.
Everyone knows Black Dragons are the most malevolent by nature.
The Zhen Dan Kingdom might not yet be strong overall, but under Leon’s leadership and her governance, Watchtower Port was already no less prosperous than the great cities of the Empire and the Talia Alliance, and she would not allow anyone to destroy this hard-won prosperity.
Without hesitation, Cecilia leapt out the window, transforming into a mighty Green Dragon in midair, roaring as she unfurled her wings and chased after the Black Dragon.
Laksha heard the roar, glanced back, and was secretly alarmed.
It was a Green Dragon, far larger than normal Green Dragons, even larger than she was.
With an elegant, slender body, every scale seemed delicately carved like jade, its base color a deep forest green, refracting a kaleidoscope of luminous hues in the sunlight, no less impressive than her own.
More astonishingly, this Green Dragon was not yet fully mature, merely approaching maturity, so how could it possess such an astonishing size and awe-inspiring presence?
“Who are you?” Cecilia was also observing Laksha, recognizing her as one of the most unique and beautiful Black Dragons she’d ever seen.
Laksha flicked her forked tongue, avoiding a rash conflict, and said, “Laksha.”
Cecilia nodded, noncommittally, and said, “What brings you here?”
“You haven’t said who you are,” Laksha’s eyes narrowed dangerously, her scales slightly raised; she couldn’t accept the other’s dismissive attitude after introducing herself.
“Oh?” Cecilia noted the Black Dragon daring to snarl and posture at her, her tone playful, “Looking to pick a fight with me, are you?”
In an instant, Cecilia vanished from her spot, a Spiritual Step placing her behind the Black Dragon.
Laksha swirled around but only lunged at a fading Green Dragon mirage.
“I’m here,” the real Cecilia’s voice came from above, as she tapped a hind leg on Laksha’s back.
It wasn’t magic, but Spiritual Energy—a powerful Green Dragon wielding Spiritual Energy? Laksha felt parched.
“Prime Minister, Princess Cecilia,” Cecilia proclaimed imperiously from above, “Now, Black Dragon, immediately tell me your purpose here.”
Hearing this title, Laksha’s pupils quivered slightly, so this was her future opponent?
She distinctly recalled how Her Majesty Tiamat had casually mentioned that cunning Green Dragon as slim, weak, entirely reliant on His help to awaken her bloodline… Wasn’t this more high-level than herself?
Laksha hadn’t realized that, to Tiamat—or to most people—all they ever saw was the dazzling sun that was Leon, overlooking the extraordinary dragons beside him, like how a bright light is unnoticeable during daylight.
With Cecilia having been with Leon for decades, residing long-term on the Spiritual Energy-rich Volcanic Island, also as Leon’s princess consort, with opportunities for Dual Cultivation, her growth was unmatched by ordinary Green Dragons; turning elsewhere indeed wouldn’t have been practical.
“I’m here to pledge allegiance to the Red Dragon.”
“Came to pledge loyalty, did you? You should’ve said so earlier.” Though a notoriously ill-tempered Black Dragon, it was still a dragon, and an extra dragon meant an extra hand. It’d lighten her workload, Cecilia nodded, “Come with me.”
Laksha looked at the back of the Green Dragon with a sense of unease; if the Green Dragon was this extraordinary, would other dragons be as well?
Yet, she felt a bit more reassured.
